Critique
PD (5) 1 Chambers & Rogerson’s Druitz Corncracker for Teamspitz this cream does it all. Moves well, shows his head off, in excellent coat and owning a very pleasing headpiece with especially well shaped and set eyes. 2 Hewett’s Runfold Frottle with Spellcast I liked the head balance on this brown, excellent skull/muzzle balance and a good eye. For me he needs to carrying more weight as he is somewhat lacking in spring of rib and this tends to make him appear longer cast than he probably is. Nicely presented and quite sound on the move. Lovely tail carriage. 3 Morgan’s Druitz Huckleberry
JD (6) 1 Roskell’s Galvizach Phixons Flyer most attractive handsomely headed black dog which moves round the ring with that degree of confidence which cant fail to impress. Nice for size, well boned standing on straight forelegs and with a fairly well place shoulder. Could finish well. 2 Craig’s Ichmoran Hohokan difficult for his handler this deep cream well coated fellow. Certainly would benefit from ringcraft classes so that his action could be more easily assessed. In stance will appear for his outline, little neck, lovely tail set and compactness. 3 McLaren’s Ichmoran Apalachee
PGD (6) 1 Hunter’s Nemo Aus Dem Norden (Imp) white of lovely type and one of the best proportioned dogs of the day giving that overall square shape to his profile. His head handles well, the skull broad & flat, long enough muzzle and well placed & shaped eyes. Firmly bodied he looked a real contender in stance but was stepping quite short in action and lacked the verve of those which beat him in the challenge. 2 Powell’s Desaria Aurelius at Brookwell stunningly presented black, coat shining, pretty good headpiece with excellent eyes, little longer in loin than 1 so his overall balance less appealing. However, he did move the smarter of the 2 when circling the ring and ran the winner close. 3 Robert’s Veratina Dark Shadow
LD (8) 1 Hickman’s Nosregor Cadberys Dream Boy at Kateandy this cream was the best bodyshape in this class. Compact, lovely spring of rib, a decent forechest, not a lot of neck and in good coat. His head handles well, almost flat in skull which is wide enough and quite clean in cheek. Holds himself well moving round the ring. 2 Rogerson’s Nosregor Mystical Myth JW yet another cream dog, this time a fraction longer in loin and being a trifle short in bodyweight, he didn’t quite have the impact of the winner. His head is pretty good, the eyes are a delight and he was in immaculate coat. Side action balanced but needs to settle more in front. 3 Powell’s Kuseley Kloves at Brookwell
OD (11) This class was interesting and proved to be quite a family affair. The winning owner is the daughter of the owner of both the 2nd & 3rd placed dogs. 1 CC & BOB Saunder’s Desaria Dante the first of a trio of sables which are fairly similar and certainly all bearing the same overall trademark type. This handsome chap has a very good head, doggy without coarseness, charming expression with a firm body, fairly compact in shape, excelling in spring and depth of rib and having a decent shoulder and forechest. In ample coat he was the soundest moving of three quality dogs and apparently todays win give him, his crown. Well done. 2 & Res. CC Powell’s Ch. Desaria Disraeli at Brookwell, in truth when they first came into the ring and posed, I marked this chap as my winner. He has that aristocratic air of distinction and certainly knows how to show off. I liked everything about him and it is always a pleasure to go over a class dog, whatever the breed. Unfortunately, he didn’t come back towards me anything like as well as his cousin and this swung the scales. 3 Powell’s Ch. Kuseleys Kute Kevin
PB (7) 1 O’Loughlin’s Runfold Fast Forward to Caolita cream which had to win here on her overall performance. I liked her balance, size, outline, tail carriage and balanced action as she went round the ring. Pleasing head, nice eyes and shows well. 2 Duke & Gardner’s Daraydala One for the Boys brown and white, very short of coat which is a pity as she is a pretty bitch with a lovely headpiece, flat in skull, good stop and well shaped eyes. Backline quite firm and level ( a number roach!). Needs to strengthen in hock action. 3 Williams’ Druitz Misty Fall
JB (4) 1 & CC Kateandy Blackl Magic with Nosregor black of real quality which impressed me. So feminine in head, beautiful eyes and ears, the skull fairly flat and neat ears. She has a compact, well ribbed body, front as straight as a dye, tail bang on top and she moved like clockwork. Spotless in coat she responds so well to her clever young handler and inched the CC from her mother (actually both the handler and the bitch. Human mother handled the RCC winner which is itself the dam of the CC winner!) 2 Purves’ Bulabs Truly Scrumptious cream somewhat out of coat and playing her handler up considerably. Pleasing head, shade longer cast than the winner, good spring of rib, well set and carried tail. Has very good hock action. 3 Buffery’s Grizwold Hildegarde
PGB (5) 1 Andrew’s Draillig Foxy Lady from Runfold shaded sable which is a trifle long in ribcage so not quite the compact shape we seek. However on the plus side her skull is so good, broad and flat with a clear stop, really oval shaped eyes and she moves with a smooth, light step. 2 Robert’s Veratina Bonnie Blue another slightly longer cast but what an expression from beautifully placed and shaped eyes which combine so well with those high set ears. In good coat and firm in front when stacked. Just doesn’t put all in when moving. 3 Bray’s Grizwold Gild the Lily Mit Abbicher
LB (5) 1 Hill’s Runfold Only Kidding quite a compact body shape, this black owns such a well balanced head with a fair stop, excellent muzzle length and good backskull. She is well boned, neat feet and was in good coat. Holds herself well as she moves easily round the ring. 2 Hewett’s Runfold Eternal at Spellcast black and cream out a slightly smaller mould and not showing the same brisk action as the first. I liked her head properties, not overdone in neck, very well ribbed with a level back and good tail carriage. Another which was spotless in coat presentation. 3 Curson & hindley’s Lowmita Star Light
OB (9 ) 1 & Res CC Hickman’s Nosregor Cadberries Girl, I admired this lovely brown bitch so much and was not surprised to learn that she needs just one more CC to get her title. Her shape is lovely, almost square, short neck firm, chunky body, beautiful tail set and sound as a bell. Shows non stop, again obviously bathed and glistening in condition. In splitting her from her daughter, the youngster was just in that hint fuller coat which swung the scales. 2 Williams’ Ch. Squirreldene Paeony at Rikarlo full coated black of obvious class. Another with a head I admired. Perhaps not quite the ideal eye shape of the winner hence the expression that tad less appealing. Otherwise a lovely bitch, well deserving of the crown she wears and she looks such an important person as she goes round the ring. 3 Richardson’s Ch. Wyndlee The Opera Singer at Jopmihvar.
