The table was unfortunately situated right underneath one of the many public address system loud speakers. The stream of announcements which issued from this throughout the day caused many dogs and bitches to be frightened, made it impossible to hear answers from exhibitors and thoroughly disrupted what should have been a pleasure for exhibits. This applied to both breeds, and I would like to thank all and sundry for the good humour with which they endured this upset. I do hope it can be improved for next year’s show. General comments... I was impressed with the cleanliness and quality of coats all round, even if one or two of the ladies had come a trifle under-dressed. Temperaments were superb, even when one or two had been “got at” by the noise, coupled with the dreaded measure. On the “down” side, there is a tendency in both sizes for slightly protruding lower incisors, and this was present in young as well as old. Weepy eyes showed up in several dogs and especially in reds. There was also a deal of elbowing-out in both breeds, but hind action was pretty satisfactory, even if some bone below the hock was a trifle insubstantial.
DOGS: Sp P (4) 1 Jones’ Rossfort Cream Craker. A super little dog to start the ball rolling. Gorgeous expression and eye, plenty of coat to balance up a neat framework, sound body, good tail carriage and nice movement. BPIB. 2 Gibbons’ Chilite Dancing Wolf. Another neat dog, slightly longer cast than winner, good quality and plentiful coat. 3 Allison’s Oberitz Turbo Charged. Beautifully headed black with lovely eyes, tidy dog all round. Pleasing class to begin with.
SpJ (4) 1 Macpherson’s Kismet Lord Of Chaos. A truly smart little dog with particularly nice eye, good ears and expression, good quality of coat, well carried tail, super mover, correct coat. 2 Chilite Dancing Wolf. 3 Cake’s Kismets Wizards Wish For Fastrax. Made up a good trio again, but he tends to prance about a bit on the move which makes movement more difficult to assess.
PG (10) 1 Smart’s Ramboobi Reveller. A neat, tight-tailed, short backed dog, with an interesting face, good coat texture, tightest of feet on which he moved well. 2 Penwarne’s Wychlea Master Of Arts. A chocolate coloured lad with another super tail carriage and good movement, a compact dog with real balance, close up to winner. 3 Bradbury’s Edburton Red Fox For Wychlea. Sparky little gold dog, delightful eyes, nice shading on her shoulders, well carried tail and once again neat feet.
L (10) 1 Wright’s Orion Mirror Image. An impressive character altogether with a pure white classic coat, super expression, sound body and limbs, good bone quality, well carried tail, super tidy coat, good mover. CC and BOB. 2 Allison’s Teralatim Joe Bloggs. Gold coloured dog with a lot of quality, very attractive, neat feet again, well balanced all round, sound body structure. 3 Rogerson’s Nosregor I Can’t Dance. Another most attractive dog with the same style and balance.
O (11) 1 Bradbury’s Wychlea Dayzhar Vooh. Cobbily built little black with a highly attractive face, beautiful topline, good coat, moved like a train. Res CC. 2 Kimber & Bridgen’s Stonelight Sequel. Gold. Another cracker with not quite as tight feet, moved soundly, deserved her place. 3 Serman’s Karstein Ocha Bearer Among Tymy. Black chap with a great deal of quality.
Sp Vet (4) 1 Kimber & Bridgen’s Ch Stonelight Hullaballoo. Chocolate and white, cocky little mite, well set ears, moved with true panache on tight feet. 2 Smith & Al-Haddad’s Ch B-Fritzi Von Cottas At Dovetrees (Imp). Oldest in the class, just beginning to show his age, but he moved well. 3 Serman’s Ch Coomar Domino Among Tymy. Another saucy little chap with lots of quality but moving really well. All three are a credit to the breed.
BITCHES: Sp P (6) 1 Temple’s Dovetrees Loquacious Mit Rimazet. Smart red coloured young lady with a very pleasing head and expression, well presented, tight footed, soundly moving, correct coat, good tail set. 2 Rogerson’s Nosregor Blue Wolfe. Keeshond style of colouring. Another neat little bitch, beautifully handled. 3 Lovelock’s Shetlocks Heartbreak. Tidy black making a truly encouraging trio for the future.
Sp J (7) 1 Allison’s Oberitz Touched By Magic. How nice to find a breed which gives its representatives such charming names which a judge can spell! Lovely head and expression, good coat and well presented, sound body and angulation, moved correctly. 2 Banfield’s Atroya Winter Surprise. Well proportioned, beautiful head and neck, well carried tail, moved correctly. 3 Westwood’s Oldcharm Eartha From Llychlyn. Another smart-as-paint character, this time a black, truly sparky in style and balance, not over large, gave the impression of sheer inquisitiveness.
PG (10) 1 Cook’s Chilite Charisma Golditz. Smashing cream coloured dog, super coat and well held tail, very compact, moved excellently, very intelligent head, super feet. 2 Williams’ Cwm Ogwr Monkey Puzzle. A sort of golden Keeshond in colour, beautifully handled with a minimum of fuss, beautifully placed ears, very presentable. 3 Bradbury’s Wychlea Voulaye Vooh. Small, black lady which made up a trio of really neat compact true Kleins. Another neat mover and the three of them stood out in the class.
L (10) 1 Carr’s Kimbacrests Southern Momma. Another cracking little black, gorgeous head and expression, neat ears, super coat, carried its tail as if it wanted to put the tip into an ear hole, lovely coat, beautifully presented. 2 Allison’s Claran Cream Dream For Oberitz. A tiny gold, not a lot between them, but I liked the eyes and ears of the winner, another tidy footed creature with sound movement. 3 Thompson’s Kempsona Tinos Melody. Somewhat out of coat, but the lines were there to see, good mover and well proportioned.
O (6) 1 Wright’s Ch Orion Continental Lady. Cream coloured b with another charming expression, v intelligent expression, moved like a dream and just asked for the CC, which she got. 2 Carr’s Kimbacrests Drama Queen. A gold with a lovely head and neck, stood like a statue when posed, perfect feet on which he moved excellently. Res CC. 3 Bradbury’s Ch Wychlea Anne Versary. A tiny black with the best tail quiver I have ever seen, showed as if her life depended on it. Three v pleasing specimens of a most attractive breed.
Sp Vet (6) 1 Dickinson, Taylor & Ventura’s Ch Bubble & Squeak At Terendak. Compact little madam with a grand coat, moved on sound legs and tight feet. Thoroughly deserved to win. 2 Cook’s Goldritz Georgia Sunset. Cream coloured tidy b which moved well on slightly looser feet, but still concealing her age. 3 Harrop’s Ch Grovelyn Little Vixen. Toothless in her old age but still getting into and around the ring with the aplomb which has characterised her long career.
