Please do be aware that as this is a numerically small breed where breeders usually only breed a litter to keep a puppy for themselves, it is highly likely that you will have to go on a waiting list for a responsibly bred German Spitz puppy and if you want a particular sex or colour that wait may be even longer.
The situation of low numbers has come about in part due to the lack of good pet homes available for any puppies not being kept by the breeder so good breeders are breeding fewer litters. If you are interested in helping us to preserve our lovely breed, please support our responsible breeders and be prepared to wait for a puppy.

The generic puppy sales sites are best avoided as many list poorly bred dogs of dubious background and no health testing at inflated prices so don't be conned into paying over the odds. These sites are also well known for scams where people are asked to pay upfront for puppies that don't even exist.
Well bred puppies from health tested parents are generally still more reasonably priced from responsible breeders.

By submitting breeder listings or adverts to this site, all advertisers agree that:-

  • Both parents of all litters have a *current clear eye certificate and these certificates have been submitted to the German Spitz Club of Great Britain for submission to their database and display on their web site & German Spitz World web site. This also applies to any males offered at stud and they will only be used on bitches where the above also applies.
  • All puppies will be litter screened and the certificates will be submitted to the German Spitz Club of Great Britain in a timely manner for submission to their database and display on the above web sites.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure only adverts from responsible breeders for eye tested dogs are accepted, German Spitz World, its Owners and Admin Team cannot accept any responsibility for adverts displayed on this site.
All prospective purchasers should check and confirm for themselves that eye test certificates are up to date and results available on the above sites.

* Please note, BVA eye testing certificates are only valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
While we appreciate that it may have been problematic to get eye testing/litter screening done due to Covid restrictions since March 2020, this is not a valid reason for no adult testing at all or years out of date or for missing litter screen results prior to that date.
