Critique
KLEIN: I was pleased to see far less Pomeranian look-a-likes but was it the bright sun that produced too many with wet eyes.
PD (7). 1 Ivesons’ Carive Chunky Monkey. Red, lovely spitz head with dark eyes and good pigment. Correct ear size and set. Top line level although tuft of p hair makes it appear lumpy at present. V much a baby and lively despite the heat. Best rib in the class with depth down to elbows. Tail well set and carried. Well angulated both ends with parallel forelegs and hocks and small tight feet. Moved OK for a baby; 2 Johnstons’ Dourhu Dynamic. Well presented black with most attractive head of good balance with best of pigment. Level back and well boned for age. Stands on good legs and feet although not as strong in pastern or as smooth in action as 1 at the moment. Lovely high tail set and rear angles. Needs a bit more spring of rib; 3 Dickinson/Robinson’s Terendak Bubble Top With Polielin.
PGD (4). 1 Beards’ Ticapon Meritus Victor With Hasweth (Imp). Black tinged red with lovely head and expression and nicely presented to show off a well proportioned and balanced profile. Excellent top line with good ribbing, short strong loin and high enough set on of tail. Well angulated stifle but could be tighter in front pasterns hence rear movement was more positive than front; 2 Gillies’ Onze Toekomst v Promising Garden At Kartmel (Imp). V pale cream with tidier bite than 1. Has a sweet expression and attractive ear shape and set, Longer cast overall, level top line but tail could be carried a touch higher. Well boned legs and feet and good rear quarters with sound stifles and short firm hocks; 3 Fox’ Oldcharm Black Knight.
LD (2). 1 BD and BOB Dickinson/Taylor/Ventura’s Terendak Bubble Baileys, Beautifully proportioned and well developed pale cream with a really lovely head for shape, eye placement, earset and dark lively expression. Head and tail carried in balance. Well angulated quarters and dead level short strong backline but would like a fraction more spring of rib, Moves on sound legs and feet with a particularly pleasing side gait and correct convergence coming and going. Presented in immaculate well textured jacket; 2 Fox’ Oldcharm Carbon Copy. Happy black/white parti, good top line and tail high enough set. Not the body or accuracy of movement displayed by 1.
OD (4). 1 RBD Furbers Oberitz Cozmopolitan At Holbain. Pale cream who is built in balance with all the essentials required in this breed including short loin, level top line and lovely high set and carried tail. Most attractive head and expression with everything in balance and excellent bite with clean white teeth of good size. One of the few Kleins with a forechest. Well articulated quarters with decent bone through to feet. Movement was brisk and accurate with even footfall; 2 Hills’ Grovelyn Montgomery. This cream sable was not moving as well as 1 here but has a lovely profile and is well proportioned nose to tail. Sweet head and expression although, overall is now beginning to show his age slightly; 3 Sermans’ Roydenzone Cortese Among Tymy.
PB (4). 1 Sermans’ Shetlock Infatuation Among Tymy. Shaded gold with dark eyes and pigment. Wedge head is well proportioned and feminine and when she decided to use her ears gives a lovely expression. Beginning to develop a sound well constructed body and limbs which just need to mature and tighten. Even footfall although a typical loose p on the move; 2 Taylor/Bonsers’ Dourhu Black Velvet. A most feminine black with pleasing earset and dark lively eyes. Good head to tail balance with decent neck length. Compact body with level top line and angles are OK. Not as light or synchronised on the move as 1; 3 Furbers’ Holbain Snow Fox.
JB (3). 1 RBB and BPIB Foster’s Holbain Heaven Sent. Black/white parti presented in heavy coat which did rather obscure outline but hands on was sound and short coupled with decent angles particularly behind. Pretty head of good proportions but bite could be tidier. Strong bone through to feet and depth to elbow. Top line level to good set on of tail. Moved out well; 2 Gillies’ Kartmel Whirlwind. Beautifully presented black who was smaller and finer through than 1 st. and of a different type but with a balanced profile. Lovely head with a correct bite. Excellent top line with straight forelegs and good rear angulation. Not as positive on the move as winner of this class.
PGB (1). 1 and BB Bradbury/Lammings’ Wychlea Bee Bopalulu. This chocolate was so feminine with a v attractive head shape and appealing expression enhanced by well set and used ears. Enough neck to balance a well set tail. Angles were good front and rear and she has a well ribbed body with level backline. Strong parallel forelegs and hocks. Slightly longer than height and won BB on her superior movement.
LB (3). 1 Metcalfes’ Flactem Dreamin Rose. Rather small gold who was completely out of coat. Attractive head with appealing expression and lively outlook but eye could be darker to compliment. Square outline with excellent rib and good forechest. Straight forelegs but soft in pastern. Well turned stifles although a touch long in hock. Tail could be higher set but excellent top line. Moved well enough.
OB (3). 1 Metcalfes’ Kline Line Lucy Lastic At Flactem. Black whose coat was down to the canvas. Square outline, excellent rib, top line and tail set. Pretty head with dark eye and correct ear carriage. Front movement was satisfactory and she keeps a level backline on the move, side gait is balanced but turns her stifles out behind.
