Critique

KLEIN: I must apologise for the quality of this critique. On playing back the recording that I made, I found that the high wind, blowing across the microphone, had drowned out most of my remarks. I have pasted together what little that is still distinct, and just hope that I have written a reasonable word picture of the dogs that were exhibited.

PD 1 Morgan’s Kismet The Maestro Black and Tan. A pleasing youngster to go over. Well-placed ears and dark eye. Good body for age, with ample reach of neck. Level top line. Moved with confidence. Well presented. Res. Best Dog. 2 MacDonald’s Kismet the Kraken of Clandonald Parti-coloured. Finer type than the 1st, neck with good reach. Well-placed eyes and ears. Have seen him in better coats. Also needs to tighten up on movement.

JD 1 MacDonald’s Kismet the Kracken of Clandonald.

LD Trendle’s Lusam Tuff Talkin Overall of excellent type and construction. Lovely skull formation, with dark eye. Nice reach of neck. Square with level top line. Correct tail set. Moved well coming and going. Beautifully presented. Pressed hard for BOB, but some aspects of the head detract. Best Dog.

PB 1 Avent’s Lusam Little Sprite Seven month old Cream. Pleasing square silhouette. Good head, with nice expression. Correct tail set. Moved well in both directions with good reach and drive. Presented in beautiful condition Res Best Bitch & Best Puppy.

LB 1 Trendle’s Lusam Super Spats Much to like about this well made bitch. Nice head construction with pleasant feminine expression. Good body, with sufficient muscle. Moved well. Just a little longer cast.

OB 1 Banfield’s Atroya Winter Surprise Red. Square outline, Good skull, well placed ears and eyes. Good body, with level topline. Nice tailset. Good bone and muscle front and rear. Moved with purpose. Would have preferred a slightly flatter head, but this was not sufficient to overshadow the many qualities of this exhibit on the day. Best Bitch & BOB. 2 Trendle’s Lusam Beatty Romanze. Black. Another bitch out of the top drawer. Square. Good head assembly with correct reach of neck. Pleasing body, ample bone and muscle. Well constructed front. Good tailset. I have seen her move far better when moving away that just spoilt her chances.
