KLEIN Before I judged these two German Spitz breeds I had a definite template firmly planted in my mind. The breed standard asked for a compact, short coupled dog with an almost square outline. Unfortunately I did not find many which fitted this criteria, many were far too long and their body proportions more closely resembled my own breed, the Japanese Spitz.
PD. (2). 1. YThomas’s, Miraje Naughty But Nice. 6 and a half months old dog. Good mover for one so young. Well boned. Good tailset. Neat feet. Good prospect for the future but a shade too long which lost him BP. 2. Johnston’s, Dourhu Sensay Shaunal. 6 months old cream no where as forward in development as the winner. Good coat, dark but unsettled on the move which was where the winner excelled.
JD. (1). 1. Hill’s, Enzoz Temnych Noli at Chfelin (Imp). 15 months old wolf sable fitted the standard well. Correct amount of substance for the breed and well proportioned in body. Excellent coat and condition. Good tailset. Neat well placed ears, found him a shade round in eye. Unfortunate to meet 2 top class dogs in the challenge. Should be useful to the breed as I see he is an import.
PGD. (2). 1. Parden’s, Desaria Skylark Mit Dunbrook. Shaded gold. Lovely head, well placed ears. Good tailset. Lovely bone. Moved well. 2. Highmoor’s, Printzagems Ebby. Small wolf sable needs to body up as he had no substance when I went over him, very much at an in-between stage.
OD. (7). By far the best class so far with two very nice dogs fighting it out for the top place. 1. Highmoor’s, Ch Kartmel Legolas. CC and BOB. A dog with a jet black gleaming coat, teeming with breed qualities. In top class condition. Short coupled gave the desired outline I was looking for. Moved very well and did not seem to be affected by the heat. A lovely specimen of the breed. 2. Dickinson, Taylor and Ventura’s, Ch. Terendak Bubble Baileys. RCC. A dog I have admired may times from the ringside and thought how much he deserves his wins. I was honoured to be given the chance to judge him. He is very impressive with a huge coat, he oozes quality, but on the day he decided that it was just too hot for him and was lethargic on the move. It was this which coat him the top honours o the day. 3. Kimber and Bridgen’s, Ch. Wychlea Ludo at Stoneight.
PB. (3). 1. Andrew’s, Claran Flipside. BP. 11 months old cream bitch who was totally out of coat. Her profile was good and she possesses the correct body proportions I was looking for. Would be interested to see her when she coats and bodied up. 2. Hill’s, Edburton Llyngoes at Cyfelin. Shaded gold, well bodied with good bone. Just preferred the overall outline of my winner.
JB. (3). 1. Furner’s, Here I Come for Holbain. RCC. Black and white parti colour. Very nice breed type. Moved very well. Very dark correct shaped eyes, excellent ear placement. Shows real promise. Just needs to settle a bit more into her showing. 2. Cook’s, Goldritz Sleepflower. Pretty cream good coat. Good tailset and good ear placement. Erratic movement which let her down.
PGB. (1). 1. Parden’s, Desaria Sundancer Mit Dunbrook. Nice bitch. Moved well. Nice size. A little in-between stages. Shows good prospect.
OB. (3). 1. Bradbury’s, Wychlea Aimy Vooh. CC. Lovely black who was as feminine as my dog was masculine. Excellent coat and condition. Moved very well. A lovely example of the breed. 2. Highmoor’s, Ch. Printzagem’s Vedi. A lovely breed type who is just carrying too much weight, which in turn affected her movement and for that she had to pay the penalty.
