ERMAN SPITZ
KLEIN: As replacement Judge for that very experienced, and now sadly missed as a judge, judge Terry Thorn I thank all exhibitors for their entry on the day. The wind was very gusty and affected some of the dogs in the ring also making outline difficult to assess at times. I feel, however, we were still fortunate to be in the ring on the Friday rather than the Sunday when all present, dogs, exhibitors and Committee went through what must have been a very traumatic time. I was very pleased with my overall winners but feel we still have to be careful not to get close to the heads with very short muzzles and heavy back skulls. The standard calls for a 1:1 split between muzzle and skull and we must work very had to maintain this as this is what helps define the German Spitz. Construction generally was good as was size and mouths which are not always something we find in our breed.
DOGS:MP (1) 1 Ginty's Flactem Follow My Heart. Good head and expression with well filled muzzle and good eye placement. Neat, well placed ears. Good body and bone. Up to size for age and movement needs to settle.
P (1) 1 Hughes & Forrester's Candease Bring Me Sunshine. Nice size for age. Good head and outline. Good bone and body. Tail could be tighter. Movement could be better.
J (1) 1 Hughes & Forrester's Candease Bring Me Sunshine.
PG (5) 1 Dixon's Flactem Bongo Fury (DCC)(BOB). Chocolate and white parti colour in full coat of correct harsh texture. Beautifully made with tail carried well over the back. Square in outline with good body and bone for size. Good pigment for colour and lovely eye placement. Moved soundly without exaggeration. 2 Allison's Oberitz Renegade. Young black dog still maturing. Good in outline standing foursquare. Well laid tail with level topline. 3 Hamer's Dajelilne Charmander.
L (2) 1 Mole's Molead Moon Beam. Balanced orange dog with nice head pattern and good spitzy expression. Nice eye placement and well rounded foreface. Good body with nice short loin with moderate tuckup. Very good tail carriage. A nice sound dog. Moved and showed well. 2 Hughes & Forrester's Candease Back To The Future. Black dog not as steady in temperament as some others on the day. Nice head and expression Good head and body. Unfortunately appeared affected by the wind and although moving soundly dropped his tail often.
O (5,1) 1 Furber's Oberitz Cozmopolitan At Holbain (RDCC). A very balanced dog with no exaggeration. Correct coat. Lovely in outline and to go over. Good head and ear placement. Well laid shoulders and hind angulation. Moved very well without losing topline. Just lacked the sparkle in the final challenge to take the elusive third ticket. 2 Naylor's Terendak Bubble Top. Another quality dog in good condition. Stood and showed continuously. Good in outline. Just preferred the head pattern of the winner. Moved really well. 3 Hill's Enzo Z Temnych Noci At Cyfelin (Imp Cze).
BITCHES:MP (3,2) 1 Atkinson's Rimazet Monsoon. Black bitch. Nice size, feminine in outlook. Good head and expression. Nice legs and feet. Moved and showed well, should mature into a quality bitch.
P (3) 1 Metcalfe's Flactem Nightspot (BP). Cream bitch with a lovely expression. Good body and tail carriage. Good shoulders and hind angulation. Movement not always settled as appeared affected by the wind gusting across the Showground; however, settled enough to win BP in the Puppy Challenge. 2 Dixon's Flactem Mollys Mailbag. Similar in type to the winner. Good head and body with nice depth of rib. Moved and showed well. 3 Norkett's Sinders And Snow.
J (1) 1 Serman's Bonneavid Treacle Tart Among Tymy. Black bitch totally out of coat. Nice size with quite nice head. Showed only spasmodically which did not help her expression and movement. Not steady on the day.
PG (2,1) 1 Allison's Oberitz Raven. Black bitch also not in full coat. Good body and square in outline. Good head and expression. Good bite. Tail well carried. Moved soundly.
L (6,1) 1 Kimber & Bridgen's Stonelight Electra (BCC). Quality black bitch although not in full coat the coat she had was gleaming and in lovely condition. Steady at all times. Lovely in outline standing square. Excellent head and expression. Good body with neat cat-like feet. Well set tail. Positive on the move, just out to the dog in the challenge for BOB through lack of coat. 2 Wright & Storm's Orion Music Of The Night. A difficult bitch on the day, not in full coat and refusing to settle on the move; but still a quality bitch - one of the best from this kennel. A pleasure to go over and very sound throughout. If she settles should do extremely well. One I would be very pleased to own. 3 Caldow's Livlandean Angel's Voice.
O (5) 1 Wright & Storm's Orion Absolutely Fabulous (RBCC). Nice bitch, stood square with nice legs and feet. Well presented and in nice coat and condition. Looked good in outline. Neat well carried ears. Stood and showed well. 2 Serman's Ch Dourhu Black Velvet. Nice black bitch, slightly stronger than the winner but similar size. Good head and tail carriage. Well rounded body. Moved soundly. 3 Francis, Pearce & Storm's Ch Stormavon Silhouette
