Critique
German Spitz Klein
As usual in this breed, the quality was mixed, but the best dogs were truly outstanding representatives of the breed, & I was delighted with the CC winners.
MPD (1) 1 Double Trouble The Small Step from Indizak, 7 months old, big dog, really pushing it for size & needs to settle into his balance. His head scores in power over quality, but is quite well proportioned. Large ears. Pleasing neck. Tends to turn his front feet out. Quite well proportioned in body. Plenty of undercoat, awaiting his adult top coat. Lovely colour. Needs to stabilize in movement. JD (1) 1 Longsdale Let’s Go Trebettyn, well proportioned, masculine, light crème dog. Correct size. Strong, masculine head, ears could be smaller, otherwise quite pleasing in head qualities. His neck suits his balance. Compact body, well set tail, stands firmly over his front. Excellent coat, really filling out the frame. Quite a good mover from the side, but has room for improvement coming & going. PGD (2,1a) 1 Ahlenagens Fancy That, sound w/f parti dog in excellent condition, but struggled with the measure. Well shaped head, good ears, somewhat round in eyes. Strong neck. Balanced angulation both ends. Firm back. Still needs to develop in his body. Sound mover. Unfortunately just too much of him for a Kleinspitz. LD (4) 1 Goldritz Stole The Sun, well proportioned, short bodied crème dog of very attractive type & quality. Somewhat too short in muzzle for my preference, but pleasing expression & small ears. Excelled in his compact body & well set tail. Balanced angulation both ends. Excellent coat & colour. Moved very well from the side, but narrow behind; 2 Holbain Just Like Bill, eyecatching & attractive crème male with a beautiful expression & outstanding pigmentation. Strong neck. Excellent topline. Would prefer more angulation behind & sounder hind movement. Lovely coat & colour. Well presented; 3 Chilite Shooting Star. OD (6) Very good class where the first two still stood out. 1 Ch Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy, very collected, well proportioned white dog in full coat & excellent condition. Well proportioned, quality head, a bit round in eyes. Excellent ears, well covered in the coat. Excellent coat quality, truly making a ball due to his rich coat, compact body & excellent tail. Excellent topline & tailset. Stood & moved very well on sound legs & feet. CC; 2 Ch Longsdale’s Willie Win, very sound, well constructed light crème dog who stood very firmly over his legs & feet & strutted his stuff. Well shaped, masculine head with quality, but rather wide-set & rather large ears with which he struggled with his opponent, his father. Excellent neck & forechest. Firm back, excellent tail. Impressed in movement, sound & typical. In beautiful, full coat. RCC; 3 Ch Printzagems Verve. VD (1) 1 Lusam Charlie Dobby, crème dog, almost 15 years old & in remarkable condition for his high age, including impressive moment. Short, compact body. Correct size. Attractive head, muzzle on the short side. Excellent ears. Hard muscle condition. In full coat & filled in the frame very well. Could still teach several of the youngsters something about movement.
MPB (2) 1 Oberitz Victoria of Rexford, lovely black bitch. Well proportioned & carried herself very well. Well set, if not small, ears. Dark if somewhat round eyes. Attractive neck. Excellent forechest for her age. Pleasing topline. Coat under development. Sound mover; 2 Foxy Nose Zahra at Megahra, attractive crème bitch, feminine & well proportioned. Rather short in muzzle. Good neck. Well developed body, well set tail. Tended to sidetrack in movement. Well conditioned, typical coat. PB (2,1) 1 Oberitz Candy Melt, attractive, well proportioned bitch with very definite opinions. Feminine, well chiselled head. Rather wide set ears. Short, compact body. Firm back, well set tail. Beautiful coat & colour. She moved very well when she set her mind to it, which could be more often. BP. JB (1) A. PGB (4,2) 1 Kartmel Distant Breeze, small, feminine black bitch, short & compact, would have preferred her a little more up on legs. Quality, feminine head. Ears somewhat wide set. Good neck. Balanced angulation in front & behind. Firm back, well set tail. Moved with pleasing balance & synchronised when she put her mind to it, but just as often she was jumping around. Pleasing coat; 2 Chilite Indian Shadow, chocolate bitch, rather long & low & thus not the proportions I am looking for. Very strong head for a bitch. Pleasing eye colour for her coat. Strong neck. Well developed body. Tail could be higher set. Excellent coat & colour. Moved soundly enough. LB (5) 1 Wychlea Vixen In The Dark, attractive black bitch, elegant & feminine & with very pleasing quality. Refined, feminine head. Pleasing ears, well set & not too big, & contributing to an attractive expression. Strong neck, excellent topline, well set tail. Stood firmly on her feet. Moved with a pleasing balance from the side, but rather short stepping, parallel coming & going. Strong competitor for the RCC; 2 Lusam Toodle Pip, another feminine bitch of excellent size & type & attractive quality, but not quite the head quality of the winner. Wolf/s. Ears look bigger than they are as she is not hiding them in her moderate coat. Excellent body, topline & tailset. Sound mover; 3 Seirian Solitear. OB (3) 1 Ch Longsdale’s Jen You Win, simply stunning bitch who stood & moved like a queen. Superb proportions, quality & type. Not a small bitch, but well under the measure & absolutely feminine. A great pleasure to judge this outstanding bitch whose qualities are so obvious & whose imperfections are so minor that they need not be mentioned. They just do not come better than this. CC & BOB; 2 Ayupduck Queen Bee, feminine black bitch with a profuse coat which to a degree hides some of her qualities, she needs to be handled to be fully appreciated. Attractive head & expression, pleasing ears. Deep & capacious body. Firm back, well set tail. Sound mover from all angles. RCC; 3 Tymy Quickstep to Candease. VB (1) 1 Ch Lusam Parti Popper, 8 year old, quite a strong, well proportioned w/b parti bitch who stood very firmly on her legs. Very pleasing expression, acceptable ears. Strong neck, excellent forechest. Firm back, well set & carried tail. Well angulated behind. Moved like a youngster.
