Critique – German Spitz (Klein) BUBA 6.12.14
I would like to thank all exhibitors for entering under me, lovely to see some new faces in the breed. I was looking for Kleins with substance combined with an overall compact outline which seems to be dwindling away in our breed. I was extremely pleased with my main winners.
MPD (4,1) 1. . Corr’s Crystalclear Sirius. Promising puppy, raw but in good proportion, lovely wedge head developing with neat ears & good eye shape, giving keen expression . Short coupled, with good spring of rib giving compact outline. Slightly unsure but happy to be gone over. Ok coming & going. 2. Bamford’s Kysiena Spring Tide At Hazdawn. Larger than 1 with lovely head & very small ears. Good to go over, well ribbed up with good tail set. Needs to steady in front & rear. 3. Lewis’ Indizak Hakuna Matata At Louchelle.
PD (3,0)1. Beard’s Wyndlee Cam En Bear. BP . Short coupled dog with square outline, in good harsh coat. Maturing well in body with moderate bone. Good head, although eye could be less rounded. Close going & needs to settle in front, level topline, maintained on the move, high tailset. 2. Bamford’s Indizak Feel The Love Tonite at Hazdawn. Not as well off for bone as 1, and slightly longer in loin. Good head proportions, skull needs to flatten. Nice dark eye & neat well placed ears. Good front assembly with neat feet. Moved well coming & going. 3. Lewis’ Indizak Hakuna Matata At Louchelle.
JD (2,1) 1. Quinn’s Cherokee Take It Easy. 12 month with lovely profile & excellent tailset. Good head proportions although ears a little large, dark eye. Good neck into well placed shoulder & upper arm. Well-developed forechest, good depth to brisket. Moderate bone, feet could be neater. Moved close behind but good reach in profile.
PGD (4,1) 1. Bamford’s Applebanks Goldfinger At Hazdawn. Over the measure but a quality dog to go over. Broad skull with good wedge, lovely eye enhancing his expression. Good angulations front & rear, good legs, well off for bone. Well developed in forechest, good depth to brisket, well ribbed up. Could be a tad shorter in loin to be critical. Moved steadily, covering the ground well in all directions. 2. Pearce, Francis & Williams’ Longsdale’s Let’s Go Trebettyn. Played his handler up with his exuberance. Top sized dog full of substance. Lovely wedge head with dark oval eye. Excellent angulations and forechest. Good spring of rib. Long in loin. Not as steady on the move as 1 as he was too busy enjoying himself. 3. Bayliss’ Kysiena Enchanted Sky.
LD (4,0) 1. Jackson & Minshall’s Holbain Just Like Bill. RCC. Super boy, so well put together, medium sized but well off for bone, strong in loin, well ribbed up. Beautiful masculine head & expression, showed himself off to advantage & moved round the ring with style. Finished off with a well- groomed harsh coat. 2. Hamer’s Clarmers Diamond Mischief Ir Jr Ch. From a finer mould than 1 and totally out of coat. Loved his wedge head with neat ears & oval eye. Excellent tailset, moved a little close in rear but well in profile maintaining a level topline. 3. Hawker’s Chilite Running Bear. Res. Mole’s Chilite Shooting Star.
OD (6,0). 1. Wright’s Ch. Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy (Imp Fin). CC & BOB. Headed a strong class of males. Super head & expression, with small ears, well placed and used to advantage. Well ribbed up with strong, straight front and neat feet. Short, strong loin, good rear angles well let down pasterns. Well set tail carried well. At nearly 7, this boy still presents in hard, well- muscled condition. Moved round the ring as if it were all his for the taking. Such a showman, excelled in outline & finished off with a harsh coat which gave him the edge over the bitch for BOB. 2. Norkett’s Applebanks Thruppence. Another well put together male in super- fit condition. Moved straight & steady from all directions, just seemed to lose his sparkle in a close run for RCC. 3. Corr’s Int/Ir Ch Crystalclear Working On A Dream ANCH 12,13 CW 13,14, CJW 11 Jun Ch. Res. Serman’s Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy.
MPB (2,1) 1. Norkett’s Applebanks April Showers. Very promising baby, she has all the qualities required, just a little unsure today but tail kept wagging nonetheless. Excellent head proportions, with soft feminine expression. Good mouth. Excellent bone for size, with good feet.
PB (3,0) 1. Griffiths’ Cyfelin Pease Blossom. Beautifully headed bitch, enough bone for size. Good body developing, good tailset maintained on the move. Moved well in profile a little narrow coming & going. 2. Williams’ Stormavon Silverangel At Megahra. Compact bitch with enough bone. Preferred head of 1. Would prefer a shorter loin. Not quite as composed on the move as 1. Well presented & handled. 3. Jackson & Minshall’s Holbain Trix Of The Trade.
JB (2,0) 1. Bamford’s Applebanks Skye At Midnight At Hazdawn. Well balanced head with lovely expression. Good dentition. Lower on the leg than 2 but more correct angulation front & rear. Strong forechest, moved well in all directions, maintaining a level topline. Good length to coat. 2. Williams’ Foxy Nose Zahra At Megahra (Imp Bgr). Very different type to 1, full of energy. Lovely shape in profile. Broad skull, could be flatter with shorter muzzle than 1. Well placed ear. Good harsh coat, straight front, moderate bone, feet could be tighter. Would benefit from increased muscle tone.
PGB (8,3) 1. Bradbury’s Wychlea Fhaye Tacomplea. Lovely outline, short coupled with good angulations. Lovely head proportions, oval eye and small ears correctly placed. Well ribbed up with short strong loin. Good texture to coat. Excellent tailset, carried well on the move. Moved well from all directions. 2. Wright’s Chilite Indian Shadow. Stronger built that 1 & longer cast. In excellent condition. Feminine wedge head with moderate stop. Good mouth. Excellent angulation to front & rear, moderate tuck up. Moved slightly wide coming but moved straight with good length to stride. 3. Thomas’ Seirian Breaking Dawn From Indizak. Res. Serman’s Wychlea Lady In The Mirror By Tymy.
LB (6,1) 1. Shepherd & Macbain’s Chilite Indian Bow. Very compact bitch with moderate bone. Moved well in all directions, not exaggerated in any way. Good head with pretty expression. Moderate length of neck set into well placed shoulder. Straight front, with tight cat like feet, good forechest & developed brisket. Good spring of rib, short in loin. Excellent tailset. Responded well to handler. 2. Hamer’s Clarmers Diamond Bear Ir Jr Ch. Good head pattern, with good muzzle shape. Neat eye & ear – eye colour harmonizing well with coat. Moderate bone for her size. Moved well covering the ground with a good stride. Touch wide in rear. 3. Norkett’s Applebanks Florentine. Res. Wright’s Chilite Lunar Moon.
OB (5,1) A very strong class with 4 quality bitches. 1. Pearce & Francis’ Ch. Longsdale’s Jen You Win JW SHCM. CC. Excelled in outline, what a showgirl. Not difficult to see why she has done so magnificently. So in tune with her handler, who really knows how to get the best from her. Moved round the ring with ease of stride. Strong body with good bone, yet feminine to handle. Super wedge head with dark, oval eye. In firm condition with well-prepared coat, just felt it needed bit more length to complete the picture. 2. Furber’s Holbain Likeher. RCC. Superb to go over, a well-made bitch with substance. Beautiful wedge head & expression, neat ears. Moved straight & true in all directions. Not making the most of herself today but could not deny her quality. 3. Bradbury’s Ch. Wychlea Vixen In The Dark. Res. Corr’s Ir Ch. Chilite Spirits Wild At Crystalclear Jun Ch.
