When I judged the breed and size at Crufts there was a wonderful numerical entry, however, the quality was not so good. Particularly in the younger exhibits with many of them struggling to get under the measure. Today I was very pleased that nearly all exhibits went under the measure easily and things seem to have settled down. I was honoured to get the chance to judge my eventual Best of Breed and thrilled to see she won the Utility Group. Such lovely publicity for the breed.
SBD (1) 1 Moore & Moore's Pommary Let Rumour Begin. 17 month shaded gold, good size, nice bone, a little round in eye needs to strengthen in hind movement.
MPD (1) 1 Chambers' Musique Born Legacy. Res DCC & BP. Exquisite 8 month old white dog with just a touch of shading. Good bone, excellent movement, very confident for one so young, lovely head proportions, has a very bright future ahead.
PD (2, 1) 1 Leadbetter's Pommary It's My Turn. 10 month of shaded gold not being handled by his usual handler. This resulted in him playing up on the move and his hind action was very erratic. Good for size with enough bone, good head proportions with nice dark eye, good tailset.
JD (2, 1) 1 Pearce & Francis' Longsdale's Blame It On Me. Lovely 14 month pale cream presented in immaculate condition. Lovely size, neat cat-like feet, lovely dark eye, one for top honours in the future I'm sure?
PGD (2) Two very nice dogs the winner scored on hind movement over the second. 1 Rogerson's Nosregor Willhe Doo. Pale cream, excellent size and shape, lovely outline, neat cat feet, good head proportions with well placed ears, excellent coat and condition. 2 Sutherland's Cyfelin Man In Black. Very nice black dog, good size, excellent coat, lovely dark eyes, neat cat feet just his hind movement let him down.
LD (6, 2) 1 Pearce & Francis' Longsdale Heat Of The Moment. DCC, very eyecatching dark rich chocolate shown in wonderful coat and condition, his outline presented the picture I was looking for. Not a big dog but everything in perfect proportions, neat cat feet, lovely length of muzzle, clean cheeks and lovely dark eyes. Don't know if he has any other CC's but should make up easily. I see his mother was my Crufts Best of Breed. No wonder I liked him. 2 Jackson & Minshall's Perrymere Just Bertie JW. Very nice cream with excellent bone, moved very well, lovely head set off with good dark eyes. He needs a bit more length of leg to give the desired outline. 3 Hill's Fernando Z Temnych Noci At Cyfelin (Imp).
OD (6) 1 Dyer's Ch Oberitz Curiousity At Javarm. A lovely black of excellent breed type. I believe I gave him the Res DCC at Crufts? I still like him a lot. Presented in excellent coat and condition, beautiful head with good dark eye. He was moving a bit close behind which cost him higher honours. 2 Chambers' Musique Quilo. Very pale cream, good type, shown in excellent coat and condition, good head with lovely dark eyes, doesn't have nice neat feet. 3 Wright's Montblanc Bjorn Ironside At Orion (Ikc).
VD (1) 1 Hill & Gilraine's Ch Cyfelin Rudna Romeo. Lovely 10 year old gold with super bone, an excellent example of the breed, moved very well, showed some of the youngsters how it should be done.
SBB (1) 1 Slack's Fecimus One Of Us. Best Sp Beginners. Very nice shaded gold 9 month old puppy, lovely bone, good cat feet, excellent coat and condition, moved very well.
MPB (2) 1 Pearce & Francis' Claran Stepnout With Longsdale. Lovely cream of nearly 8 months, very confident, handled very well, moved confidently, neat feet and well carried tail. 2 Bennett's Cyfelin Written In The Stars. A very raw 6 month puppy, needs some table training however she moved very well and confidently, good neat feet but ears rather big.
PB (1) 1 Slack's Fecimus One Of Us.
JB (1) 1 Orr's Radajasa's Black Pearl For Sobriety. 13 month old black, very much at the in between stage, needs to strengthen in hind movement, needs to fill out under the eye a little, in good coat with excellent tailset.
PGB (1) 1 Orr's Radajasa's Nook Khan For Sobriety. A very pretty parti coloured bitch who was very full of herself, moved very well, beautifully presented in excellent coat and condition, would like a bit more length of neck to give the desired outline.
LB (6, 1) Nice class. 1 Andrew's Claran Court Of Dreams. Res BCC, exquisite cream, lovely length of neck, good dark eye, neat cat like feet, good tailset, top class condition, moved very well. I see she is sired by my Crufts Dog CC winner, unlucky to come up against the veteran bitch, her time will come though I'm sure? 2 Chambers' Manzamas Made With Pride (Imp). Another very nice bitch with a little less bone than the winner, wasn't too happy on the table but I understand she's had a nasty experience however her movement was fine and she is proving very valuable in the breed by producing my Reserve Dog CC/Best Puppy. 3 Hall's Nardik Inky Dinky Doo.
VB (2, 1) 1 Pearce & Francis' Ch Longsdale's Jen You Win JW ShCM. BCC, BOB & Utility G1. My notes just say, stunning and superb. At nine years old she's still on top form. So composed on the move, my interpretation of the breed standard. I just love her shape and outline. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to judge her, thank you so much for bringing her.
