BOSTON - 2024
GERMAN SPITZ - KLEIN
My thanks to the officers and committee for the opportunity to judge this breed with CCs for the first time – it was Boston’s first outdoor show, held at the wonderful Rutland showground – the layout was great and I heard so many positive comments from exhibitors, which bodes well for the future. From my perspective it was a pity there were 4 absent in OD (and a couple in other classes) in an already smallish entry; however, I was pleased with my main winners – and I thought BOB did the breed proud in the group. A few exhibits had round rather than oval eyes; a couple had small eyes – both affect the expression; all were biddable and well-presented; a couple just went under the measure – and I did find a couple with short tails. JD (1) 1 Pearce, Francis & Williams’ Longsdale’s Dance With Me Trebettyn, alert 15 months shaded sable, full of lovely type and quality, pleasing for size, shape and balance, correct head proportions, well placed eyes, super pigment, high set ears, sound well balanced frame, short-coupled, lovely high set tail, sound perky mover, in finest coat and condition, just needs time to mature in body. YD (1) 1 Longsdale’s Dance With Me Trebettyn. PGD (1) 1 Huntley’s Fecimus Brother Bear at Puidelup, well coated 13 months red, masculine and typy with much to like, pleasing for size, shape and balance, correct head proportions, high set ears, clean neck well set on, tail set ok, sound free mover, needs time to mature in body. LD (2) Two nice boys. 1 Andrew’s Claran Court Your Breath, cream, pleasing for size, shape and balance, standing four square, well-proportioned head, dark eyes and pigment, neck well set on to compact frame, sound perky mover with good carriage, a little out of coat but well-presented and handled; 2 Rogerson’s Nosregor Take It All, black, although a few months older than 1 does not look as mature, liked head proportions, high set ears, sound compact frame, good leg length, in fine condition, sound perky mover, well-presented and handled. OD (7,4a) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdale’s Blame It On Me, upstanding cream, pleasing head and expression, well placed eyes and ears, good pigment, compact frame, liked leg length, well bodied, strong loin, brisk mover retaining outline, in good coat and condition, well-schooled and handled. DCC; 2 Chambers’ Ch Musique Born Legacy, close up, another lovely cream, pleasing for size, shape and balance standing four square, masculine well-proportioned head, well placed dark eyes, clean neck well set on, sound compact frame, high set tail, in good coat and condition, sound perky mover. RDCC; 3 Chambers, Chambers & Gepp-Cox’s Ch Bemojo Pearls Of Wisdom at Musique. MPB (1) 1 Hicksons’ Claran Court Of Delights at Kichigai, ultra-feminine 8 months cream, pretty well-proportioned head, dark eyes and pigment, high set ears, clean neck well set on to sound frame, high set tail well carried, in fine coat and condition, alert and responsive to handler. BPB & BPIB. JB (2,1) 1 Shepherd’s Melitabe Lyra, 13 months ultra-feminine shaded sable, well-proportioned head and body, high set ears, good pigment, clean neck well set on to sound frame, high set tail well carried, in finest coat and condition, alert and attentive to handler. YB (2) 1 Bagshaw’s Pommary New Beginning, 22 months spitzy red, pleasing head proportions, high set ears, clean neck well set on to sound well-knit frame, well bodied, in fine coat and condition, alert and attentive to handler, sound perky mover; 2 Shepherd’s Fecimus Butter Me Up, 15 months red, pleasing for size, shape and balance, high set ears, clean neck well set on to sound frame, well bodied, high set tail, alert to handler standing four square, sound perky mover, in good coat and condition. LB (1) 1 Bradbury & Godridge’s Wuchlea In The Purple, 7 years black, liked head shape and proportions, high set ears, clean neck well set on to sound well-knit compact frame, good bone and leg length, lovely straight topcoat, in fine condition. OB (3,1) 1 Rogerson’s Ch Nosregor Sister Sledge, sound typy cream brimming with quality and standing four square, lovely head and expression, well placed dark eyes, good pigment, high set ears, clean neck well set on to ultra sound compact frame, well bodied, short strong loin, high set tail well carried, good bone and leg length, neat feet, in finest condition, alert and attentive to handler, sound perky mover holding outline, well handled. BCC & BOB; 2 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdale’s No More The Fool, cream, pleasing for size, type and balance standing four square, well-proportioned head, well placed dark eyes, good pigment, clean neck well set on to sound compact frame, in fine coat and condition, well-schooled and handled, perky mover holding outline.
