Critique

German Spitz (Klein)

Not the biggest of entries which was further depleted by a large number of absentees on the day. Obviously not a total representation of the breed with numbers so low on the day but I found great diversity within those present.

PD (1,0)

1. Lampen & Wilson’s Rosco’s Hurricane. Promising cream of 9 mths. This youngster pleased for size and presented a nice compact outline. Correct length of neck for the breed, short back with firm topline, short in the couplings and high set tail of good carriage. Masculine head of good proportions, super expressive eyes, ears set on well, scissor bite and excellent pigmentation. Standing well naturally on very good feet and he moved freely on the down and back and has the desired brisk action and carries himself well. Well handled. The only pup present on the day but more than worthy of taking the Best Puppy award.

JD (1,0)

1. Chambers’ Optimus Prime Gentle Barbarian at Rosizbon (Imp Cze) TAF. 12 mth old brown who pleased for overall type and is nicely balanced. Correct length of neck, firm in topline, ribbed carried well back and developing as it should, short loin and tail set on pretty well. Well proportioned headpiece with masculine expression; oval-shaped eyes of pleasing colour to blend with coat, ears set on rather high, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and moved briskly on the go around with good carriage. Just a shade more length to hock. Good quality coat.

LD (1,0)

1. Lampen & Wilson’s Melitabe Orion von Rosco. 2 yr old cream sable. At the top end of the standard size-wise, this lad appealed for overall type and presented a nice compact outline. Neck of correct length to balance, level topline, pleasing ribbing and loin and curled tail set on high. Balanced head with breadth to skull, super ears, eyes good for colour but a fraction rounder, correct dentition and pleasing pigmentation. Moderate angles front and rear, with fair forechest and standing on excellent feet. Moves well on the go around and although straight in front, he’s a touch wider. Excellent coat and very well handled.

OD (6,3)

1. Chambers’ Ch Musique Born Legacy. Three very different dogs competed here with this 6 yr old white coming out on top. Fully mature, he was a delight to go over with each part flowing smoothly into the next. Neck of correct length to give balance, short back with firm topline, correct ribbing, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Most attractive head and expression with ears set on well, dark oval-shaped eyes, clean cheeks, correct dentition and excellent pigmentation. Moderately angulated front and rear and he stands nice and straight in front on excellent feet. Moves out briskly on the go around and uses himself as he goes and moving freely on the down and back. Quality coat and presentation and so very well handled. CC & BOB and I thought him a standout in today’s entry.

2. Francis, Pearce, Williams & Davies’ Longsdale's Dance with Me Trebettyn JW. 2 yr old sable who was also good hands on. He appealed for overall type and outline. Moderately short neck, firm through the topline, ribbing extends well back, short in the couplings and high set tail of good carriage. Balanced headpiece with breadth to skull, super ears for size and set, clean cheeks, dark eyes but not quite shape of those of winner, scissor bite and lovely dark pigmentation. He stands straight in front on cat-like feet and was well-muscled all through. Moving true on the down and back but not quite profile action of 1. Excellent coat and presentation. Another so well handled. RCC.

3. Chambers’ Ch Bemojo Pearls of Wisdom at Musique

LB (2,0)

1. Rogerson’s Nosregor Easy On Me. Two very different bitches challenged here with this 3 yr old black coming out on top. She scored here for overall type, pleased hands on and is nice and compact in outline. Moderately short neck, firm topline, ribbing extends well back, short in the couplings and curled tail set on high. Feminine head with very good skull and proportions, super expressive eyes, ears set on well and scissor bite with good sized teeth. Moderate angulation front and rear and she stands well naturally. Moving pretty well on the go around but a fraction closer going away.

2. Holmes’ Longsdale's Miss Holmes. 2 yr old sable with presented a nice compact outline with correct length of neck, short back with firm topline, good length to ribcage, short in the couplings and curled tail set on high. Feminine head but a totally different expression to that of winner; ears are set on rather high as desired, pleasing proportions but more stop than preferred, eyes of good colour but a little rounder, scissor bite and nice dark pigmentation. Of sound construction, she stands well in front and has good feet. Brisk action on the go around and pleasing carriage. Well handled.

OB (4,2)

1. Hickson’s Claran Court of Delights at Kichigai. You couldn’t have found two more different bitches than I was presented with in this class. This 20 mth old cream was my winner and she is at the bottom end of the standard for size. She is feminine all through and presented a nice compact outline with neck of correct length to balance, short back with correct topline, pleasing ribbing, short in the couplings and profusely coated tail set on high. Appealing head and expression with the best of eyes, ears set on well, clean cheeks and excellent pigmentation. Pleasing construction both ends and she stands nice and straight in front on cat-like feet. Showy girl who moves out briskly and uses herself as she goes. Good quality coat. CC.

2. Rogerson’s Ch Nosregor Sister Sledge. 4 yr old cream who was up to the measure. Full of quality, she pleased for overall type. Nicely balanced outline, being compact and well-knit with moderately short neck, firm level topline, super ribbing, short loin and tail set on high. Feminine head with breadth to skull, excellent eye for shape, colour and placement, ears set on well, muzzle of correct length to balance and dark pigmentation. Pleasing angles front and rear and she stands true in front on very good feet. Gaiting freely all through. Well handled. RCC.
