Critique

KLEIN Thank you for a good supportive entry of many quality dogs. None were oversized but I was surprised by thenumber of bad mouths on show. The quality of dogs was better than that of the bitches. Quite a lot of coats were not at their best. Temperament was good as expected. Crabbing was a problem.

PD (3,2) 1 Penwarne’s Runfold Kestrel at Sheldamar. A well turned out 11 month old brown who is maturing quite well. A nice head with good eye shape and well proportioned muzzle. Correct mouth, good bone and body for age. Movement wasd affected by a rather close front.

JD (4,1) 1 Kimber and Brigden’s Wychlea Ludoat Stonelight. A lovely black with super coat and presented in excellent condition. Well balanced with good bone and body. Nice eye and correct ear size and set. Well set tail, neat cat-like feet. MOved with purpose and was straight both ways. Level topline. Shows promise. 2 Dickinson’s Wychlea Pickle. Compact and well proportioned with good spitzy outline. Wedge head with correct eye shape and neat, high set ears. Mouth correct. Well coated. Not as purposeful or as steady on the move as the winner. 3 D’Agostino’s Orion Storm Warning.

PGD (5) 1 Hill’s Chilite Blue Chip at Cyfelin. Close between 1 and 2, but the slightly better head of the winner toppped the balance. I’d like a little more body although a nice outline wa shown. Moved well both ways. Correct oval eye shape and well set, neat, small ears. Harsh top coat. 2 Jones’ Lusam Zeus. A well boned sable dog with good spitz outline. The slightly rounded ears rather spoils an otherwise good head. Harsh coat (one of the best on the day) and good tailset. Neat and tidy feet. Well presnted and moved nicely. 3 Gillie’s Kartmel Dark Angel.

LD (6) 1 Johnston’s Dourhu Dynamic. A lovely compact and almost square, well coated black dog with a true spitz outline. Good construction made for super, brisk movement, straight coming and going. Wedge shaped head, correctly proportioned with good eye shape and small, erect ears, used well. Good bone and nicely ribbed. Neat tidy feet, high tailset and harsh, super quality coat. Alert and interested. Res CC. 2 Chamber’s Nosregor Hot Shot for Musique. A very well proportioned brown dog with a super wedge head, correct eye shape and well placed ears. Excellent bone and body with level topline. Neat tidy feet and well set tail. Let himself down on the day on wayward movement. Quality6 coat, immaculately presented. 3 Parden’s Limburg City Slicker Mit Dunbrook.

OD (6,1) 1 Dickinson, Taylor and Ventura’s Ch Terendak Bubble Baileys. A striking cream that has matured so well. A super glamorous coat of correct texture over a well proportioned and well boned body. Angulation adequate to give good movement both ends, level topliune maintained. Good head with small, neat ears, correct mouth and eye shape. Just enough neck, well set into shoulder. Showed with panache and beautifully presented. Shortlisted in the group. CC and Best of Breed. 2 Bradbury’s Wychlea the Buzzword. Harsh coated chocolate dog who was steady and confident on the move. A little narrower in front than the winner. Pleasing head with neat ears, good eye shape and correct mouth. Well boned and presented a good overall outline.

PB (5) 1 Taylor and Bonser’s Bonneavid Could She Be Magic. An aptly named little charmer. Looked small but really well proportioned and constructed and with deceptively good bone and body. Moved better than many others and eas well handled. A good coat coming but enough for the overall outline. Neat and erect ears, correct eye shape and very appealing, pretty feminine expression. Best Puppy. 2 Mole’s Molead Moon Dust. A sweet blue baby, rather longer in body than the winner. M,oved with purpose although a little unsteady yet at times. Enough bone for age and a good coat coming through. Neat cat-like feet, well set tail and a pretty head. 3 Metcalfe’s Flactem Four Pleasure.

JB (6,1) 1 Bradbury’s Wychlea Aimy Vooh. A mature and beautifully presented black tyoungster who pulled all the stops out on the day. Lovely spitzy outline, compact and enough bone and body. A good wedge head with well placed ears, good eye shape and well placed ears. Good eye shape and correct mouth. Enough neck set well in shoulders, adequate forechest. Well constructed and moved briskly and with confidence, maintaining a level topline. Good harsh, straight top coat. CC. 2 Andrews’ Roydenzone Roxanne from Runfold. A little out of coat but hiding nothing. Well constructed and when she got her act together she showed she could move well both ways. A nice wedge head with alert expression. Good oval eye shape and correct mouth. Well boned and good ribs, level topline. Well proportioned and presenting a nice outline. 3 Pontins’ Breuddwydni Witchcraft.

PGB (6) 1 Storm’s Stormavon Spirit in the Sky. A true spitzy outline and lovely wedge head on this very nice lady. Good eye shape and neat, well set ears. Correct mouth. Well boned and bodied Constructed well and consequently moved briskly and well, straight coming and going. High set tail and neat feet. Alert and feminine expression. Just lacking a little in coat to complete the picture for top honours on the day. Res CC. 2 Metcalfe’s Rimazet Coco Chanel of Flactem. A well boned and bodied brown with plenty of substance. Nice head and expression, oval eyes and small, triangular ears. Good harsh and straight top coat. Well set tail and neat tidy feet. Moved with purpose. 3 Parden’s Dunbrook Bedazzled.

LB (4,1) 1 Serman’s Shetlock Infatuation Among Tymy. Very out of coat cream, but with well proportioned wedge head, oval eyes and neat ears. Reasonable bone and body, well set tail and neat feet. Moved steadily, just a little close in the rear. Sparse coat but of good texture. 2 Brien’s Haswell Shady Lady at Kylecroft. Another rather lacking in coat on the day but what there was was straight and harsh. A well boned lady with good body. Nice set tail and good topline. Somewhat erratic and unsteady on the move on the day. 3 Sheasby’s Edburton Hint of a Tint with Wychlea.

OB (5) 1 Rogerson’s Nosregor Classic Gold. Good outline on this well presented and compact orange sable. Good head shape, correct eye and ear shape. Good pigmentation, super bone and body. Coat of the correct texture, harsh and straight and woolly undercoat. Lost out in the challenge when she insisted on crabbing. I hope her experienced handler can sort this out. 2 Taylor and Bouser’s Dourhu Black Velvet. A pity this black lady didn’t have her full coat on the day. Lovely, well proportioned head with neat ears, well set and oval eyes, good mouth. Not as substantial as the winner but enough bone and good ribs. Well angulated and moved briskly and straight both ways. A lovely expression when she remembered to use her ears. Coat harsh and straight. 3 Gillie’s Kartmel Whirlwind.
