Critique

KLEIN: I had a nice quality entry. Dogs I found were better than the bitches. I had one undershot mouth, other wise all bites were correct. Teeth, in the main, were filthy.

PD (1). 1 Mole’s Molead Moonbeam. 9 mths old nicely coated orange, v typy with a good head, ears and eye, good forehand, with nice bone, legs and feet, nice hindquarters and overall a v smart p, moved briskly and soundly. BP.

JD (3). 1 Kimber’s and Bridgen’s Wychlea Ludo at Stonelight. 18 mth old black, lovely type and quality, masculine wedge shaped head, v good quarters, bone, legs and feet, just could not stand wrong, put down in pristine hard condition, in full coat of correct texture, every hair gleaming, well carried tail and lovely proportions, so square. On the upper limits of the standard but not over. Moved cleanly and briskly. CC and BOB; 2 D’Agostino’s Orion Storm Warning. 14 mths old, light grey sable. Again of good type and quality. Not so anatomically correct as the winner, being a shade wide in front, which was reflected in movement. Good head, eye and ears, which could to advantage be slightly higher placed. Moved well from the side, but a touch loose going and wide coming.

PGD (2). 1 Gillies’ Kartmel Dark Angel. Dark grey sable, shown in good coat and condition, compact in build with good proportions, bone and balance, good head, eye and ears, tended, at times to stand a bit East/West in front, moved well, though a bit close behind; 2 Morgan’s Kismel The Maestro. Black/tan, shown in good condition, nicely proportioned d with quite good general outline, a touch ‘pommy’ in head, movement from the side quite well, clean enough coming but threw left hind leg going.

LD 1 Chamber’s Nosregor Hot Shot for Musique. Attractive chocolate d of upper middle size, strong and masculine with v good head, eye and ears. Lovely bone and v good legs and feet. Nice proportions and v good type. Sound coming and going but would persist in crabbing. If he can be got out of this should easily go to the top; 2 Trendle’s Lusam Tuff Talkin’. Lovely type of dark wolf sable. Well shaped head, good eye, ears could to advantage be a touch smaller, strong sound well boned d with v good proportions and balance, shown in good coat and condition, well carried tail and excellent extrovert temperament, v sound, correct movement, covering the ground briskly and with style; 3 Naylor’s Teredak Bubble Top.

OD 1 Wright’s Ch Orion Mirror Image. Cream and white d, medium sized, medium strength, v well put together with good bone, coat and condition, v good quarters, proportions and balance. Perhaps a slightly more masculine head would further enhance. Eyes and ears quite good. Showed well. RCC; 2 Dickinson’s, Taylor’s and Ventura’s Ch Terendak Bubble Baileys. Light cream, medium sized d of pleasing type and general outline. V attractive coat of good length and texture. Nice head, eye and small ears. On the day I felt he could have been in harder condition all through, which was reflected in his movement, giving restriction in front reach and close going. These two were v good examples of the breed, and one could understand why they have done so much. Unlucky to meet the young challenger in such terrific form; 3 Grayer’s Ch Terendak Irish Cream at Delgray. Sire of second and similar in many respects.

PB (2). 1 Taylor’s and Bonser’s Bonneavid Could She Be Magic. Cream of 11 mths old. Smallish, but v pretty b. V good bone, legs and feet. Nice head with good eye and ears. Well coated and shown in good condition. Fair movement from the side and sound coming and going; 2 Gittoes’ Molead Moon Dust. Blue, litter sister to the PD winner but does not have his good proportions, being rather short on the leg for balance. Good coat of nice texture, well shaped quarters. Moved adequately, sound.

JB (1). 1 Allison’s Orion Chocolate Brownie of Terelatim. 15 mth old brown. On the lower limits of the standard. Pretty coat, colour and good proportions. A wee bit ‘pommy’ in head. Sound, adequate movement.

PGB (5). 1 Blight’s Nosregor Tasmania Girl at Rosechow. Blue sable, strong well made b of good type and quality. Correct proportions with good coat, bone, legs and feet. Good brisk movement, though could show more animation; 2 Shipden’s Terendak Bubble Topping at Skerryness. Light cream, on the lower limits of the standard, v pretty and quite petite. Good coat and condition, good legs and feet. Sufficient bone for size. Balanced quarters. Inclined to be a touch ‘pommy’, though has small ears. Moved quite well; 3 Kimber’s Stonelight Gabriella.

LB (2). 1 Storm’s Stormavon Spirit In The Sky. Nice d, shown in v good coat and condition. Good wedge shaped head, with small ears. Can be a wee bit round in eye. Good forehand and hindquarters, with nice strong thighs. Good bone and feet. V attractive high quality b, excellent type. Clean enough coming and going. Moved well from the side apart from a tendency to flap her front feet. I was pleased to award her the CC, her first; 2 Allison’s Beritz Glamarand Glitz. Orange, much harder, drier type than the winner, lovely proportions and type, good bone, head and expression. Short and steep in upper arm, v pretty d who did not seem quite as mature as the winner, although she is older! Moved fairly well.

OB (4). 1 Bonser’s and Taylor’s Dourhill Black Velvet. Black, strong b of good type and quality. Well constructed, with v good bone, legs and feet. Good head and eye, ears perhaps a bit big, not helped by the fact she was really out of coat. Moved well and v sound. RCC; 2 Allison’s Fin Ch Cadinan Peggy Lady of Oberitz. V compact orange of lovely type and quality, good outline and proportions, nice head, eye and good ears, movement quite good and v sound, a pity she insisted on dropping her tail. I see she is a v recent import. Perhaps she has not yet adjusted; 3 Gillies’ Kartmel Whirlwind. Black, who flatly refused to show off her many assets and appeared badly affected by the heat. A pity, as she is one I have always admired.
