Critique
KLEIN It was a pleasure to award CCs for the first time to this breed and I thank the Society for the Opportunity. The sporting exhibitors are an example to any breed but as they has two new Champions to celebrate by the time I had completed my task, perhaps the enthusiasm was justified. The vast majority of the entry were sparkling clean and beautifully groomed despite the torrential rain. Some were somewhat short of coat but I can forgive this in favour of a structurally sound animal. After all the coat will grow but bad construction will not improve. I did fins myself forgiving slightly large ears on one or two of the exhibits but these were the more typical in other respects and none are perfect.
PD. (5). 1. Parden’s, Desaria Skylark Mit Dunbrook. Nice size 6 months old with everything in the right place. Lovely shaped head with correct muzzle, eyes and mouth. Excellent shoulders. Moved really well. Good tailset and topline. Oozing with confidence. BP. 2. Mole’s, Molead Moon Beam. More mature and hence in fuller coat of lovely clear colour. Pleasing in head and has lovely body shape with good topline. Moved rather better going away than coming. 3. Hawker’s, Chilite Smokin Joe.
JD. (3). 1. Kimber and Bridgen’s, Wychlea Ludo at Stonelight. In his last Junior class and now is to go with the big boys as he won the CC on the day, his third and BOB. Jet black in lovely coat and condition. Well proportioned head, small ears, good mouth. Full of character. Well held on good neck. Topline, body and tailset all so good. Excellent bone, good feet. Moved well too. 2. Penwarne’s, Runfold Kestrel at Sheldamar. Unlucky to meet winner but am sure his day will come, when his chocolate coat comes in her will be very impressive. Lovely head, well boned and with nice tailset. A bit shy on the table but practice will soon overcome this little problem. 3. Hinton’s, Oberitz Pearl Diver.
PGD. (5). This was perhaps the hardest class to judge. 1. Jones’s, Lusam Zeus. In good coat and body condition. Good muzzle, skull correct but detracted from by slightly low set on ears. Good eye shape. Good ribcage, bone and feet. Perhaps a shade long in loin. Could have been more positive on the move. Did hear later he had been stung. 2. Dyer’s, Wychlea Sailor Vee at Javarm. This fella had left most of his coat at home. Excellent pigmentation. Pleasing head with good eyes. Nicely boned legs and good feet. Moved quite well once he settled to it. 3. Holmes’s, Holbain Shimmer.
LD. (6). 1. Trendle’s, Lusam Tuff Talkin. What a lovely moving dog this is. If only more of the breed had this style and action. In good coat and excellent body condition. The best of rib and couplings. Good tailset. Excellent bone and feet. Proportions of skull to muzzle correct with good eyes and mouth. A bit more neck and less ear and he would be to ‘die for’ RCC. 2. Jones’s, Rossfort Cream Cracker. Loved this ones colour, head and overall balance. Perhaps a shade finely boned. Good on the move. Very confident. A little more attention to his coat would be beneficial. 3. Chambers’, Nosregor Hot Shot for Musique.
OD. (8). A very impressive class of males where I was spoilt for choice. 1. Wright’s, Ch. Orion Mirror Image. Almost white with extremely well balanced shape. Good muzzle shape and excellent skull, carries himself well. Lovely bone and well sprung ribs. Good topline and tailset. Very good on the move. Lost out in the challenge to the more animated youngster. 2. Allison’s, Terelatim Windy Miller. Another very well balanced exhibit in good coat. Muzzle may be just a little too full but I admired his overall outlook. Correctly constructed body and good tailset. Lovely dark eyes. Moved rather well with great style. 3. Highmoor’s, Kartmel Legolas.
PB. 93). 1. Bradbury’s, Wychlea Yehttah Gain. Black with sweet head and expression. Good quality coat coming along. She has time on her side but gave the impression of being just a tad fine all through. Confidence will give her the courage to move out better. 2. Serman’s, Teomakleims Ticktick by Tymy. Loved the head on this one. Darkest of eyes and well proportioned. Could have better front construction but bodily is correct with good set and acceptable action. Lacking her coat at present. 3. Parden’s, Desaria Sundancer Mit Dunbrook.
JB. (6). 1. Andrews’, Roydenzone Roxanne from Runfold. Another black who needs to grown the coat to finish off the picture. Well constructed throughout with particularly nice shoulder and well boned. Very confident and moved well. Pleasing head and good mouth. Showed very well. 2. Holmes’s, Deeritz Fiery Fox. Loved the quality and type of this one. Lacking a little bit of confidence on the day which meant she was lazy with her tail but otherwise feel sure she will trouble the best in due course. Great colour. Moved rather well too. 3. Pontin’s, Breuddwydni Witchcraft.
PGB. (5). 1. Trendle’s, Lusam Super Spats. Very typical but maybe a shade finely boned. Loved her head type. Good neck and shoulder construction. Moved very well indeed. Good pigmentation, coat coming in well and enhancing her good overall balance. Very sound. 2. Parden’s, Dunbrook Bedazzled. Pretty ‘tipped’ fawn with good toning and pigmentation. Muzzle and skull very good in relationship to each other, good mouth. Maybears could be tidier. Nicely boned. Compact body shape with good loin. Moved very well. 3. Dyer’s, Wychlea Mazie Fantaizie.
LB. (4). 1. Avery’s, Kartmel Breezer. The best mover in this class. Another black. Very good spring of rib and short coupled giving her the desired compact outline. Excellent tailset. Pleasing head. 2. Storm’s, Stormavon Spirit in the Sky JW. Lovely type with the correct shape and good eye. Another good balance and excellent tailset. Perhaps could have more shoulder angulation. Ok at Rear. Moved rather well and showed herself off to advantage. 3. Hawker’s, Chilite Savannah.
OB. (7). What a lovely class, splitting hairs to separate the exhibits. 1. Rogerson’s, Nosregor Classic Gold. CC. Striking as soon as she entered the ring. Presented beautifully in lovely coat and condition. Sparkling and went around as if she owned the place. Lovely headpiece with good muzzle and eyes. Excellent bone, good spring of rib. Perhaps a shade long in loin but forgave this in view of her other virtues. 2. Taylor and Bonser’s, Dourhu Black Velvet. RCC. Another lovely b so close up to winner. Quality throughout and moved and handled to perfection. Loved her head in good coat too. Sure her day will come. 3. Bradbury’s, Wychlea Aimy Vodh.
