Critique

German Spitz (Klein)

The entry was not easy to judge, there being a great variation in size & type, some being extremely ‘toy like’ conformation, for which the breed standard is extremely clear & explicit in angulation & proportions, was the undoing of many. Temperaments were extremely good, I admire the breed greatly & hope that improvements can be achieved.

MPD 1 Trendle’s Lusam Crispin Blunt. 7 mths old black, small high set ears, obliquely set oval eyes, straight forelegs, neat feet, developing nicely in ribs, bright character.

PD 1 Mole’s Molead Moon Beam, orange, pleasing head & ears, well ribbed-up, short coupled, good legs & feet, moved with a true easy gait & good carriage. Confident showman, in best coat.

JD 1 Poultney’s Shetlock Normandie at Sirchray, typical outline & balance. Good wedge shaped head, flattish skull, moderate stop & correct length of muzzle. Nicely angulated front & rear, good movement. Lovely temperament with sympathetic training & coat care could do well.

PGD 1 Dyer’s Wychlea Sailor Vee at Javarm, good type & quality, correct outline & balance, soundly constructed & moved accordingly, bite could be better & coat was not at its best.

LD 1 Chamber’d Nosregor Hot Shot for Musique, chocolate that throws out a striking, well knit, correctly proportioned outline. Would prefer skull a little flatter & a more moderate stop. Neat high set ears. excellent chest, ribs, topline & tail. Well-boned straight forelegs, Good carriage, straight brisk gait, well presented quality coat. 2 Kimber & Bridgen’s Wychlea Ludo at Stonelight, impressive copy book head, eye & ears. Lighter build than above & not quite as accurate up & down, lovely condition, showing all out, a difficult decision. 3 Hill’s Chilite Blue Chip at Cyfelin.

OD 1 Wright’s Ch Orion Mirror Image, no stranger to me, maturity is suiting him well, good outline. Ideally would like a little more bone & substance with a slightly broader skull. Profuse beautifully prepared coat An enthusiastic showman, active & alert, co-operated perfectly with his handler at all times, taken all round he is difficult to pass, CC BOB. 2 Allison’s Terelatim Windy Miller, sired by winner & has that bit extra substance, excellent outline, perhaps a little too rounded in skull & deep in stop which as usual, is accompanied by a shortish muzzle, well set moderately short neck, short coupled, good depth of brisket, nicely rounded ribs, firm level topline, grand legs & feet, good movement, alert & active, lovely coat & condition, RCC. 3 Johnston’s Dourhu Dynamic.

MPB 1 Kimber & Bridgen’s Stonelight Octavia, firm body & topline, good legs & feet, tail curls down flank, rather deep stop & rounded skull, bright character in lovely condition. 2 Melville’s Kartmel Satin’N’Lace in Galkerah, up to size, typical outline, good wedge shaped head with skull & muzzle of almost equal length with a moderate stop, hope she gains in substance & firms up in movement. 3 Penwarne’s Stonelight Ophelia.

PB 1 Metcalfe’s Flactem four Pleasure, small high set ears, bite needs to improve firm body, well carried tail, bright happy temperament.

JB 1 Andrew’s Roydenzone Roxanne from Runfold, lovely type & quality, correctly proportioned wedge shaped head with moderate stop, nicely angulated front & rear, just right in bone & substance. Bit of a tom- boy this one when settled her movement was excellent. I hope in due course her showmanship matches her good looks, should reach the top. 2 Allison’s Orion Chocolate Brownie of Terelatim, feminine, not the head of winner otherwise v good all round but needs to firm up in movement. Excellent condition & presentation, made the most of herself at all times. 3 Taylor & Bonser’s Bonneavid Could She Be Magic.

PGB 1 Shipden’s Terendak Bubble Topping at Skerryness, balanced outline, feminine, with dark eye & pigmentation, body handled well, excellent carriage & true, brisk gait. 2 Trendle’s Lusam Super Spats, good type, came without her coat, moved nicely & showed with confidence. 3 Avent’s Lusams Little Sprite.

LB 1 Serman’s Shetlock Infatuation Among Tymy, pleasing type, correct head proportions, good ribs, topline & high set tail, not in coat but could not be overlooked for type, conformation & movement, co-operated perfectly with her handler at all times. 2 Storm’s Stormavon Spirit In The Sky JW, glamorous, in best coat & condition beautifully presented gave a good account of herself. Preferred close couplings & head of winner. 3 Dyer’s Wychlea Mazie Fantaizie.

OB 1 Taylor & Bonser’s Dourhu Black Velvet, nicely mature, pleasing all round for type & soundness, well bodied sufficient bone, in full coat, not an extrovert performance but did sufficient to take the CC. 2 Bradbury’s Wychlea Aimy Vooh, 18 months feminine black of good type & quality, firm level topline, another of the few with a high set tail without a kink or curl, in lovely condition, not the coat & finish of winner today, her day should come. RCC. 3 Trendle’s Lusam Beattie Romanze.
