Critique

KLEIN: I was disappointed with the overall quality of the Kleins. My top winners were excellenr, but there was no depth of quality through the classes and I could count on one hand the number of correct mouths, and too many are light boned and pommy. At one time the Kleins were ahead of the Mittels, no longer. The breeders must get their act together again.

PD (4,1) 1 Kimber and Brigden’s Stonelight Enzo. Black of top size. Well boned dog of good type. Correct in head, eye and ears. Good quarters, moved, moved well in all directions. I would prefer a harsher coat, but he is only a pupy so this could alter. 2 Dawson’s Whithy Jet. 6 months and good general proportions and of a nice and typical appearance. Perhaps a stronger head would improve. Well boned and moved quite well. 3 Halligan’s Biddle Toffee Whirl. Sable and white of 9 months. Pretty little dog of pleasing type. Not entire.

JD (5) 1 Metcalfe’s Flactem Domino. Medium size and strength. Head shows slightly too much stop. Well boned, good coat and an attractive black and white colour. Moved very well. Mouth not perfect, not undershot but untidy incisors. 2 O’Rourke, Thomas and Garr’s Dajelilne Charizard. Cream, happy little chap with correct eyes, ears and head. Good bone with good legs and feet. Moved soundly. 2 Carr’s Kimbacrests Carte Diamond. Top sized cream and a very attractive dog pf extreme type. Lovely dark eyes, good head and ears. Quality coat of the correct texture. Very good bone, legs and feet. Moved well. Had he been a touch smaller would have won the class.

PGD (4) 1 Mole’s Molead Moon Beam. Orange dog of strong upper size. Attractive head with a good eye and ears. Good coat and type. Nice hindquarters, but slightly forward placed in shoulders, which lengthens his middlepiece. Moved quite well and was sound coming and going. 2 Parden’s Desaria Sky Lark Mit Dunbrook. Blue sable, strong upper middle size. I liked his type, strong legs, feet and well boned. Good coat and condition. A touch longer than the winner. 3 O’Rourke, Thomas and Garr’s Flactem Boot N Toot at Dajelilne. Orange, a bit Pommy in head and it could be more masculine. Very good character, pigment, type and proportions. Side movement ok but toes in coming and close going.

LD (7,1) 1 Stannard’s Lusam Davey Dingle at Ulmarra. Light sable of medium size and medium strength. Good head, expression and outlook. Strong bone with good legs and feet. In nice clean conditon, full coat and presented an overall attractive picture. Moved very well and was very sound. Res CC. 2 Dickinson’s Wychlea Pickle. Black of top size and a high quality dog. Not quite the coat of the winner. Classical head with lovely eyes and ears. Well put together with good bone, legs and feet. Good topline and well carried tail. Moved well. 3 Palmer-Jones’ Stonelight Dashing Denzil. Black, top sized strong dog. Similar type to the one above. Very shapely and well proportioned. In good condition, not quite the movement of 1 and 2.

OD (9) 1 Chambers’ Nosregor Hot Shot for Musique. Sh CM. Top size brown and a very strong, hard and masculine dog. Strong head with good ears and eyes. Well proportioned, very good bone, legs and feet. Excellent type. Moved cleanly and well in all directions. CC. 2 Wright’s Ch Orion Mirror Image. Cream and a lovely quality dog and again of good proportions. Excellent bone, legs and feet. In good coat, clean and shining. I would prefer a stronger head and slightly more neck length. Very sound. 3 Serman’s Ch Tymy Tymajusting. Black with silver trousers. A good young dog who has quickly gained his title. He has a nice head, eye and ears. Coat and condition good. Very sound, looked a bit immature against the two older dogs. Could well be a super dog in a year or so.

PB (13,2) 1 Wright and Storm’s Orion Absolutely Fabulous. Aptly named light cream. Strong and of a good size. Lovely head, eyes and ears. Excellent bone, legs and feet. Lovely quarters and well proportioned ears. Excellent bone, legs and feet. Lovely quarters and well proportioned. Strode around the ring to win this very good class and will no doubt follow in the footsteps of her famous father. 2 Kimber and Brigden’s Stonelight Electra. Black, very type and correct, very sound. Typical head and eye with small ears. Good proportions and balance. Strong bone, clean legs and feet. Lost to the winner on forereach, still a good mover. 3 Trendle’s Lusam Party Popper. Sable and white and a high quality bitch of excellent type. Well shaped head, good eyes. Ears could, to advantage, be slightly higher set and stronger bone would further improve. Still an attractive bitch who was very sound, though inclined to play around. Very good character.

JB (4,1) 1 Cook’s Goldritz Sleepflower. Cream of strong, medium size. Very nice head, eyes and ears. In good condition and coat. Very good bone, nice straight forelegs and good feet. Good proportions and type. Sound, brisk movement. Young as yet, but with maturity I am sure she will do well. 2 Dyer’s Oberitz Lady Illusion at Javarm. Cream white. Looked somewhat disinterested in the proceedings. Pretty bitch, though a bit long overall.

PGB (4,1) 1 Gittoes and Gittoes’ Molead Moon Dust at Jendale. This was not a particularly good class. Black with silver tail. Head quite good, coat and bone good. Overlong in proportions and low on foreleg. Moved ok. 2 Allison’s Orion Chocolate Brownie of Terelatim. Brown who is rather small and pommy in head. Short on leg. Shown in good coat and nice, clean condition. Would look better if she lost a bit of weight. 3 Salisbury’s Teomakleins Lady Penelope. Black. Head proportions quite good, round in eye and ears on the big side. Nice coat, good quarters and a well carried tail. For some reason persisted in pacing.

LB (3) 1 Dyer’s Wychlee The Duchess. Black who is very typical of her breeding. Excellent head, eye and ears. Her teeth were the best of the day, perfect, clean, big and pure white. Excellent quarters and she was shown in lovely coat and condition. Very good bone, legs and feet. Moved briskly and precisely. Absolutely sound. CC and BOB. 2 Salisbury’s Teomakleins Rustic Dude. Cream in good condition, good bone and type. Rather overlong in proportions and a bit short in leg. 3 Holmes’ Oberitz Fiery Fox. Sable. Out of coat but quite shapely. Head, ears and eye all ok. Feet could be tighter. Well boned and moved ok.

OB (6,3) 1 Storm and Wright’s Stormavon Silhouette. Cream sable, not in full coat. Good head, eye and general shape. Good proportions and balance. Really high set and well carried tail. Moved very well. 2 Parden’s Dunbrook Bedazzled. Blue sable. Nice head with good eye and ears. A little on the heavy side. Full coat and in nice condition. Strong bone and of upper middle size and strength. Good legs and feet. Moved well and was sound. 3 Trendle’s Ch Lusam Beatty Romance. Black, medium to small in size. Of excellent type, proportions and balance. Attractive head, good eye and ears. Super character and moved ok. Sound.
