Critique
Thank you for such an excellent entry in numbers. However, on the day, though delighted with many excellent winners, I was disappointed with the lack of quality in depth. My Klein veterans are where the breed was 10/14 years ago and both of them have the beating of the majority of today’s youngsters.
VD (6, 1) 1 Hawkers Ch Chilite Navajo. Brown and white parti colour. Well knit dog with good body and short strong loin, sufficient neck. Correct moderate front and back angulation. So well balanced, giving sound steady movement coming and going on neat feet, good bone for size, profuse harsh coat, well set and carried tail. Super topline. Good bite and head pattern with good ratio of skull and muzzle. Preferred eye and ear and overall type of the younger BCC winner for BOB but this 10 year old dog’s complete balance won him the DCC. 2 Allisons, Ch Oberitz Galaxy Romeo. Another extremely pleasing dog moving well. Preferred the ratio of muzzle to skull, less stop and slightly better balance of 1. 3 Trendles, Lusam Charlie Dobby
MPD (3, 1) 1 Kimber & Bridgens, Stonelight Enzo. Black puppy dog with well developed body, good body to leg length ratio and short loin. Well set tail and promise of good texture coat. Masculine head with good eye and ear. Needs to settle behind in movement but a very nice puppy. 2 McPherson’s, Kismet Luck of the Irish. Smaller cream sable puppy with short back. Not the head proportions of one and a little too straight behind. Good rib and happy disposition. 3 Hallgan’s Biddle Toffee Whirl.
PD (3, 1) 1 Allisons, Edburton Cadan Of Oberitz. Small immature sable puppy, good eye and ear. Compact with good overall proportions and construction, promise of correct type of coat. Moved well though needs to settle a little in front and more time to mature. 2 Hookway & Bentley, Holbain Archie at Beaulion. Large well bodied and coated brown dog. Rangier than 1 at present and a little loose on the move. Does not need to grow on.
JD (5) 1 Metcalfs, Flactem Domino. As the name suggests, a parti colour. Exceptionally well coated dog one of the few with correct harsh texture top coat. Excellent body and substance, well knit. Would prefer a less round eye, but has a masculine expression. Moved well infront and side gait but hocks need to tighten. 2 Carr’s, Kimbacrest Carte Diamond. Liked the head pattern on this cream, and liked his overall shape. 3 O'Rourke, Garrett & Thomas, Dajelilne Charizard.
PGD (9, 2) 1 Stannards Lusam Davey Dingle at Ulmarra. Super sable dog, pleased in all departments. Good head pattern eye ear and expression. Well constructed overall. Moved with precision on good feet, short of coat on the day but with more coat and maturity should do well. 2 Pardens, Desaria Skylark Mit Dunbrook. Orange sable with quality coat. Not quite the head piece of 1 but well constructed overall with balanced front and rear. Moved steadily. 3 Moles, Molead Moonbeam.
LD (14, 2) 1 Naylors, Terendak Bubble Top. Beautifully presented cream dog in excellent harsh coat and with lovely head and muzzle proportions, well shaped eye and ears and dark pigment. Just enough neck and good body, correct outline and moved out well but not quite the front and rear of DCC and RCC winner. 2 Palmer-Jones, Stonelight Dashing Denzil. Black dog with lovely expression, balanced head pattern, good ears. Square outline with correct balance front and back and well developed body. Lovely feet. Out of coat on the day and needs to settle to the job, but will trouble the best when he does. 3 Penwarnes, Runfold Kestrel.
OD (8, 1) 1 Chambers, Nosregor Hot Shot For Musique ShCM. Another beautifully presented quality dog I would be pleased to sign a ticket for. Mature brown with pleasing head shape and ears. Well developed body and under that profuse coat good proportion of height to body length just preferred the overall balance and movement of the CC winner. 2 Sermans, Ch Tymy Tyma Justing. Neat compact shaded black dog of correct type. Masculine in outlook with balanced head. Correct front and rear assembly, sound but erratic movement on the day, only needing maturity and coat to finish the picture. 3 P Allisons, Teralatim Windy Miller.
VB (3) 1 Highmoors, Ch Printzagems Diva. Another outstanding oldie. Again the correct outline the substance of body and bone, the profuse coat and correct dentition. The true brisk movement. A wonderful example of the breed. Not quite the head now of the CC and Res CC winners but it was so hard to deny her the top spots. 2 Trendles, Ch Lusam Beattie Romanze. A smaller finer boned little bitch, with excellent body. Full of herself today, just preferred the overall proportions and head of 1. 3 Smarts, Ramboobi Joyrider.
MPB (2) 1 Vincents, Stonelight Elana. What a little treasure. I loved this little black bitch. Not as mature as her brother and sister and needs to settle to the job, but excellent feminine head and lovely ears. Short strong body and loin and good flat tail. Excellent proportions. Only needs time. 2 Allisons Oberitz Astrobee. Another nice black. Not the balance and head of 1 but very promising in most departments.
PB (5) 1 Kimber & Bridgens Stonelight Electra. Very mature and confident black puppy. Well proportioned head, good eye and ears, super shape and balance of front and rear assembly. Good solid body and firm short loin. Correct bone, sufficient coat of correct texture, flat tail, lovely outline. When settled moved soundly. RCC. 2 Sermans Tymy Tymarekiya. Orange with nice texture coat. Neat ears, almond shape eye and good pigmentation. Slightly longer in body and loin than one, but nice flat tail and sound movement.
JB (6, 3) 1 Cooks, Goldritz Sleepflower. Excellent quality cream bitch with good pigment. Liked her head proportions and eye. Good front, body and rear. Does not always use herself to advantage to show off her correct construction but can move soundly. 2 Allisons Lillhamras Una Ultuss Of Oberitz (Imp Swe). Smaller black bitch who was rather unsettled but with much to like about her make and shape. Not the head proportions of winner and a little fine in bone but well balanced. 3 C Andrew, Claran Flipside.
PGB (12, 3) The first three in this class stood away from the others for quality. 1 Penwarnes, Stonelight Ophelia at Sheldamar. Cream bitch with lovely head and eye and feminine expression. Good front and rear and well set tail. Sufficient body for size but would like a little more bone. Moved well with good topline. Good coat of correct texture. 2 Goodwins Roydenzone Just Jay. Another feminine bitch with pleasing expression, correct proportion of scull to muzzle though a touch rounder in scull than 1. Close coupled with good body and nice feet. Would like a little more bone. Two promising bitches. 3 Holmes, Oberitz Fiery Fox.
LB (10, 5) 1 Hawkers Chilite Okeechobee. Medium size Black bitch of substance with good coarse coat and pleasing head. Well developed body and correct front and rear assembly. Good tail set, a pleasing bitch to handle. Moved soundly. 2 Trendles, Lusam Super Spats. Shaded black. Another good bitch of different type. Finer all through but with good head pattern and expression, correct body and good overall shape. Not as precise in front movement as 1 but won her place easily. 3 Beck’s Nardik Sugar Babe.
OB (6, 1) 1 Gillies Kartmel Whirlwind. Beautiful feminine black bitch of superb quality. Lovely head eye and ears and expression. Correct bite, super body and loin, substance without coarseness. Well balanced front and rear, correct bone for size, good texture coat, flat tail, impeccable outline. A little bit gassy on the day and not quite the steady movement of the DCC winner, but her movement was sound and brisk coming and going. Her outstanding type won her BCC and BOB and with the complete agreement of my co judge - BIS. 2 Metcalfs, Rimazet Coco Chanel. Larger brown bitch with profuse harsh coat and good overall make and shape. Neat ears, solid body and good substance, with short back and correct loin. 3 Sermans Shetlocks Infatuation Among Tymy.

EVA HILL MEMORIAL SPECIAL AWARDS: It was a great honour for me judging the special awards to celebrate the life of a wonderful lady, Eva Hill. I could not believe the entry I obtained & thought how gd it would be to go over so many quality ds as it was restricted to Champions, CC & RCC winners. I’m sorry but I have to say I was disappointed with some that had been given top honours, saying that my placings were what I was looking for in his fabulous breed.
GERMAN SPITZ (KLEIN)
D (17). 1 Chambers’s Norsregor Hot Shot For Musique. SHCM. Brown. Gd head with correct eyes & ears. Well coupled d which showed in his movement once he settled. Gd spring of rib & outline. BD; 2 Kimber & Brigden’s CH Wychlea Ludo At Stonelight. Quality d I have admired from the ringside & was not disappointed with what I felt through his Black coat. Gd head & expression. Short compact body. Just preferred movement of first on the day; 3 Dickinson’s Wychlea Pickle.
B (10). 1 Parden’s Dunbrook Bedazzled. Cream Sable who did dazzle me with her looks & movement. Lovely head & body of a true Spitzy type. V gd outline & tail set. Could not deny her Best Klein; 2 Kimber & Bridgen’s CH Stonelight Periwinkle. Dark Blue/Black who also oozes quality. Slightly longer cast than one but well constructed with gd movement; 3 Trendle’s CH Lusam Beatty Romanze.
