German Spitz Klein

Not a big entry by any means but I was so disappointed in what has happened since I last judged. They ranged in every conceivable size & shape from the tiniest who would not have looked out place in a Pomeranian class, to the bat eared variety with little coat & very long cast bodies. Trying to fit a regular type & shape was something of a task. Luckily at the end of the day I was delighted with the quality at the top end of the scale but I had not spent a happy time judging the breed.

MPD (5) 1 BP & RCC, Pearce & Francis’  Longsdale’s Willie Win, what a very showy & smart little chap this is. Flawless in presentation & condition, the showman supreme, lovely size, well arched neck, good head with especially pleasing eyes & expression, stands true in front, his tail is bang on top, went around the ring like he owned it. OK he can do the front strut at time, but that is more the brashness of youth than anything else. I the challenge I still thought he had potential & his profile movement won his the RCC against some good opposition; 2 Hawker’s Chilite Running Bear, choc/w parti with heaps to like. Massive jacket (almost too much as it makes him appear shorter in the leg than he is). Loved his head shape, eyes a good size but could be more oval in shape. Well ribbed, moved out well in profile  but needs to settle in front action; 3 Highmor’s Printzagems Zak Icelett. PD (2) 1 Latham’s Cyfelin Oberon of Toptune, small & needs to grow on. Nice skull, well shaped eyes, mouth needs to settle, little neck. Well ribbed & coated. Could stride out more; 2 Latham’s Longsdale Willabee Famous at Louchelle, very out of coat which drew attention to his long back & long loin. Good skull, moderate stop. Rather long in muzzle. Level backed & well set tail. JD (1) 1 Serman’s Rochedo Bill The Badger at Tymy, flashy b/w little chap of much charm, bright as a button in expression, full of fire & vigour & strode around the ring like he owned it. Well ribbed & bodied, in full bloom, tail bang on top & his head is good. Perhaps eye a shade full but it is dark & so bright in expression. PGD (0). LD (4) 1 CC, Morgan’s Cyfelin Jack Frost at Ahlenagen, the more I looked at this chap the more he appealed. Compact he certainly is, just off the square in outline, tail bang on top adds to his appeal & in wonderful coat. Head is a delight, so balanced, ample breadth, defined but moderate stop, beautiful eyes & high set neat ears add to his charm. Sent around the ring he displayed a brisk, lithe step, so purposeful & keeping his shape so well. I believe this is his 2nd CC following a number of reserves & in this form he should become ennobled before long; 2 Halligan’s Nardik New Moon at Icabel, most appealing cream who benefitted from being in stunning coat condition. I liked everything about him, has style, shape, the sweetest of expressions from those almost black eyes. I felt he was sound in action but not quite so true in front as 1; 3 Francis, Pearce & Tullis’ Icarus von Zwergen Konig. OD (4) 1 Andrews’ Ch Porterble Sirius Black from Runfold; 2 Highmoor’s Ch Printzagems Verve. Two blacks which are so very similar in type, they are similar in size & proportions. 1 could have a bigger ribcage for a male & he was just that tad between coats which was made more obvious in the challenge.  2 was in wonderful coat which shone with well being. I felt that his eye was just a bit too full & I would like higher set ears to soften the expression. Both were sound in action, light stepping & purposeful.

MPB (2) 1 Hawker’s Chilite Eagles Paw, o/w parti of lovely size, so compact, lovely ribbed, skull needs to flatten out a bit more, beautiful eyes which will charm many, in such good coat. Not yet fully co-ordinated on the move but she did give glimpses of putting it all together, then decided to cut a corner & rush back to me! PB (2) 1 Bradbury’s Wychlea Vixen In The Dark, ultra feminine black from this very successful kennel. Lovely shape, sweet head & expression, neatest of ears & a light, graceful action as she circled the ring. Must be a pleasure to handle as she stops instantly & shows her head off; 2 Trendle’s Lusam Toodle Pip, sound moving little sable with lots to like. She is a lovely size, ample substance, very good foreface, skull needs to flatten out a little more & ears could be smaller. Lovely condition & so well ribbed. Stands on the tightest of feet & she too is so responsive. JB (1) 1 Wright & Thomas’ Orion Silver Spirit, very dark sable who is so sweet in head quality with delightful eye & expression. So well ribbed, ample muscletone in hindquarters & her side action is best described as being busy, she is in such a hurry. Bit wide behind, otherwise quire sound. In huge well presented coat.PGB (2) 1 Hill’s  Rhona Z Temnych Noci at Cyfelin, looks up to size, but this cream went under the measure quite easily. Loved her head shape, perhaps the eye could be a little more almond but it is certainly dark. Well boned, tightest of feet, one of the best moving exhibits of the day. Could have a bright future; 2 Eades’ Seirian Solitear, choc, small, very fine boned, nice head, eyes somewhat round, moved wide in front action. In lovely coat. I felt she could have more spring of rib. LB (6) 1 Morgan’s Lusam Maybe Baby at Ahlenagen, this sable was not in full coat but is could not hide the fact that she is stylish, so well constructed, lovely size, well boned legs & feet, sound confident mover & tail bang on top. Add a very pretty face with really good eyes & you have something with style; 2 Hughes & Forrester’s Tymy Quickstep to Candease, this black was another of those whose jacket really sparkled, even in the gloomy hall lighting. I liked her shape, size & compactness. Well balanced head, ever alert & sound on the move. I just edged the baby bitch in having the smaller ears & slightly smaller eyes; 3 Griffiths’ Dunbrook Pink Fizz. OB (4) 1 CC & BOB, Serman’s Ch Tymy Footsteps, stunning black who came in, looked the part, in beautiful coat, a delight to handle on the table, well bodied, compact & then she moved around the ring with a light, brisk & forceful action, head is so good, an almost flat skull which has ample width for her sex, the darkest of eyes, neat ears & so clean in cheek. Seems a natural showgirl & every time I glanced & caught her, she was looking the part; 2 RCC, Pearce & Francis’ Ch Rimazet Serafino of Longsdale, this café au lait probably had the best head, eyes & expression of the day. She is a total charmer & as with all of the exhibits shown by this young man, she was a lesson in presentation.  She has star quality & is certainly a most worthy ch. Loved her size shape & attitude. A non-stop showgirl with a touch of glamour & star quality. Let herself down on the move as she just did not have the positive front of Footsteps, but it was close; 3 Trendle’s Ch Lusam Parti Popper.
