German Spitz Klein
As in many breeds, the very nice entry was affected by the weather. However, I was very happy with my main winners. Primary cause for concern was fronts, with a good one hard to find. There was one wry mouth, and a couple of ‘dropped’ bottom incissors but otherwise mouths were good. As usual, head types varied, and there were some very deep stops. Everyone went under the measure and temperaments were lovely.
PD (7 /2)
1st: THOMAS Mrs K. Indizak Scarlett Feather. Attractive red sable with good bone for size. Good outline, with nice neck and good tail set. Leg length OK. Front movement could settle more, but a balanced side gait. Good skull shape with enough muzzle and a pretty eye.
2nd: THOMAS Mrs K. Indizak Heart And Soul. Cream sable similar to 1 but a slightly bigger pattern and not the rib of 1. Again, a jaunty mover. Good reach of neck and tail set.
3rd: ALLISON Mrs N J Oberitz Thunderbird
JD (4 )
I thought this a good Junior dog class, something which is not often the case.
1st: PEARCE, Mr G & FRANCIS Mr D. Longsdale's Willie Win. Good head, eye and ear set. Good overall shape, although rib could be longer and loin shorter, but excellent short flat croup and tail set. Good leg length and overall proportions. Very well coated; quality top coat but a long coat needs a plenty of undercoat to make a good double coat. Moved collectedly; front a little hackneyed at times. Showed and schooled immaculately. CC and settled in the Challenge for BOB.
2nd: JACKSON, Mrs A E & MINSHALL Mrs F J. Holbain Just Like Bill. Very satisfying youngster to go over. Square, compact, short hard loin and the best muscled dog here today. Full of type and a lovely head piece. The nerves of the owner got to the dog, I feel and although he is very sound in all directions, he did not consistently do himself justice. Settled a little more in the end for Best Puppy Dog. Has to be a future champion.
3rd: HAWKER Mrs P. Chilite Running Bear
LD (3)
1st: SHEPHERD Miss N. Chilite Indian Chief. Gassy little lilac dilute. Lovely head with good muzzle, eye and small ears. Short and compact, strong loin. Balanced angles. High tail set. Smaller than for my preference, but adequate leg length and overall soundness won here.
2nd: HALLIGAN Mrs Y & Mr B I. Nardik New Moon At Icabel JW. Well prepared shaded cream. Attractive head and well set ears. Slightly sloping croup and resulting tail set a little lower. Good overall outline and moved energetically.
3rd: THOMAS Mrs K Cyfelin Rudna Razzle Dazzle from Indizak
OD (6,4)
1st: WRIGHT Mr S C, Ch Minigarden Emil Lovely Boy (Imp). Startling white with jet points, very well prepared but lacking some undercoat. Very sound both ways. Good bone for size. Nice leg length and a sound mover. Excellent croup and tail set.
2nd: HALLIGAN Mrs Y & Mr B I, Icabel Shine On. Parti colour that was most unimpressed by todays proceedings and proved uncooperative on the move. His well-prepared coat sparkled but he is really carrying too much weight and this showed especially in the front when he did settle enough to assess.
VD (2)
1st: METCALFE Mrs A, Ch Flactem Domino. Very square, compact, at the right weight and well prepared. In excellent double coat, this parti boy has been under me before, but today I thought he looked super. He moved straight and true and sailed around the ring with great aplomb. His head is too rounded with stop too deep for me, but overall I was happy to say he thoroughly deserved his Res CC.
2nd: HIGHMOOR Mr & Mrs T, Ch Kartmel Legolas. This older boy I did not feel was looking his best today. He was heavy to go over and the weight has pushed his front out. He was also carrying a lot of coat length. Eye is lighter than my preference but his head shape is very much to my taste.
PB (5,2)
1st: ALLISON Mrs N J, Oberitz Firebee. Black going through a coat change with resulting wavey bits. Standing square on the table and quite satisfying to go over. Good leg length and she settled into a balanced side gait.
2nd: TULLIS Mrs & Miss J, Radajasa Double Agent Eos. Rather small for me, but this little white gal is very nicely put together. In solid condition and with a rather ‘kitteny’ expression she presents an attractive package. Needs to gain a bit of attitude, I feel.
3rd: FURBER Mrs P A & Mr O S Holbain Lou Lou
JB (4,1)
1st: FURBER Mrs P A & Mr O S, Holbain Likeher. Well coated dilute cream whose excess coat hides her assets. Very spitzy head, eye and ears, feminine head. Again, satisfying to go over on the table with all the assets of her brother to whom I awarded BPD. Bone OK for size. Excellent body properties, strong loin, excellent tail set. Well angulated stifles. Moving very soundly both ends. Her pigmentation will put some off, but there is enough there for this colour variant. CC and BPIB.
2nd: TULLIS Mrs & Miss J, Radajasa Double Agent Nyx. Another compact white, sister of 2 in previous class and many comments apply. This is a bigger pattern of bitch and more to my taste. Another future champion I think.
3rd: SHEPHERD Miss N Chilite Indian Bow Taf.
PGB (4,3)
1st: WRIGHT, Mr S & Mrs L & THOMAS Mrs K Orion Silver Spirit. Lovely wolf sable colour, nice coat pattern with harness marks. Overall square, good neck length. Bone OK for size. Good tail set. Rear movement rather stilted.
LB (4,2)
1st: HUGHES, Mr M P & Mrs L M & FORRESTER Mrs J S Tymy Quickstep To Candease. Lovely black of good size. Attractive head pattern if a little filled in foreface for me. Good leg length, good ribbing. Well muscled with hard loin and this showed in her precise collected and even gait. In a plusher coat pattern which hides none of her assets. Moved out well and as she is built. Very nice. Res CC
2nd: ALLISON Mrs N J, Oberitz Cocoa Bean. Brown who is so like the first here. She has a more spitz head with slightly better muzzle proportions. Lovely neck and legs and sound on the move. Again with a coat style I like, nothing hidden.
