I was delighted with my main winners but I do have concerns that we have had CC’s since 1995 and in my opinion there is still not sufficient quality in depth throughout the lower classes to move the breed forward. It was unfortunate that some overseas dogs were not accustomed to the measure and it unnerved them. The BCC winner on a loose lead just edged the DCC for BOB. It was very close between two lovely dogs.
VD (3) 1 Highmoor’s Ch Kartmel Legolas. Upstanding black dog. Super clean full dentition, masculine outlook, flat skull with correct ratio to foreface. Strong neck well set into shoulders, tail well set and carried, profile movement was good. Still a strong contender in the challenge, not quite as compact in loin as his rivals. 2 Metcalfe’s Ch /IrCh Flactem Domino. Super harsh coat on this parti colour. Not the head proportions stop or eye shape of 1 but excellent ears. Short strong well developed body, and moved well in profile, but moved and stood wide behind. Presented an attractive balanced profile outline. 3 Trendle’s Lusam Charlie Dobby. Well pigmented cream, Pleasing head and expression, slightly rounded in skull, good ears, and short neck, well bodied with nice harsh coat. Not the topline of 1 and 2 on the move, but sound and willing assisted by his good muscular condition.
SPD (7, 1) 1 Pearce and Francis’ Longsdale’s Woody Win. Brown dog with an excellent topline. Correct proportions of skull and foreface, would prefer smaller ears. Good neck set well into shoulders and correct front and rear angulation, tail well set.. Promising coat. Development correct for his age, A bit skittish on the move which unsettled his front movement at times, but can move with drive covering the ground , one who should mature well BPD. 2 Hamer’s Clarmers Diamond Mischief, slightly younger than 1 but well developed and very close up. Pleasing head proportions, well balanced front and rear and good body. Not the topline of 1 and not so compact. Plenty of good texture coat. Moved quite well and is a promising puppy. 3 Norkett’s Applebanks Goldfinger, cream with lovely pigmentation offsetting a pleasing expression, Slightly longer cast than 1. And 2. Moved evenly but would like him a bit more buoyant, this would improve his topline on the move but time is on his side.
SJD (1) Halligan’s Nardik Eclipse, stood alone but deserved his place, this shaded black has a well proportioned head with pleasing expression. Well bodied, front and rear angulation well balanced. Correct coat and well set tail. Eventually settled on the move and showed effortless movement.
PGD (3) 1 Hertner’s Uggy Vom Berlisbach JW. Orange Sable dog with attractive head, good mouth and eye and pigmentation. A fraction light in condition but well developed brisket and loin and his neck fits well into shoulders. He is very balanced front and back. Light and sound movement covering ground well. Not shown to advantage at times in this class, but an easy winner. 2 Lewis’ Longsdale Willabee Famous At Louchelle. Cream dog with black pigmentation. Ears could be smaller but otherwise head balanced, nice dark eye. Good masculine expression.. Excellent proportions with good body and sound movement. Correct temperament. Unfortunately well oversize which will always count against him but I felt his other excellent qualities merited his placement in this class. 3. Withheld.
LD (6) Cook’s Goldritz Stole The Sun. Pale cream dog well pigmented. Masculine head of good proportions, good ears and eyes, just enough neck fitting into his shoulders well. Mature body and good balance of angulation front and back, well set and carried tail. Correct textured coat presented to perfection. Has matured well since I judged him previously, today he demonstrated true spitz temperament and it showed in his free and confident movement, could not have given more, just edged out the competition with his well knit body and loin with to win RDCC. 2 Hertner’s Uggy Vom Berlisbach JW. Handled well in this class.. 3 Jackson and Marshall’s Holbain Just Like Bill. Gold dog with good eyes ears and mouth, correct reach of neck and good shoulders. Front and back angulation correct and balanced, well rounded ribs. Slightly more length of leg would enhance his outline.. Well set tail and excellent coat. Liked his bone and good feet. His movement was sound but he needed more impetus and drive to sharpen his topline on the move.
OD (12) What a super class of quality dogs. 1 Wright’s Ch Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy (imp) White dog well pigmented and under his profuse harsh coat I found this dog had excellent conformation. Correct well set neck and nice layback of shoulder and good length and set of upper arm. Depth of brisket and well developed body, so good to handle. I particularly liked his short strong loin. Well set and carried tail. A lovely well balanced head with good ears correctly set. Very slight eye staining but eyes dry and clear on the day, He moved soundly with purpose at all times covering the ground smoothly. DCC. 2 Highmoor’s Ch Printzagems Verve. A lovely black boy well coated with the most attractive head. Excellent eye and ear and balance of foreface and skull. Neck fits well and he has balanced front and rear angulation. Well developed body, and his tail is well set. good profile action butt not quite as settled going away as 1 but certainly out of the top drawer. 3 Norkett’s Applebanks Thruppence. Attractive cream sable dog with most of the goodies. Lovely head proportions, good eye ear and pigmentation. He is well constructed throughout possibly a fraction more length of leg would enhance his overall proportions.. Excellent texture of coat and well set tail, with a bit more spark and attention will trouble the best.
GCD (2, 1) 1 Trendle’s Lusam Charlie Dobby, alone and seen but still showing like the trouper he is.
VB (3) all three a credit to their owners for their super condition. 1 Trendle’s Ch Lusam Parti Popper. B/w parti. Well made throughout with lovely texture to coat and in hard condition. Balanced head and good body proportions, a touch carless in front at times, but otherwise a super mover. 2 Breen’s Ch Kyleccroft Symphony, gold another old favourite, so well bodied and sound, short of coat and enjoying her day out. 3 Trendle’s Lusam Super Spats. Smaller shaded black, not quite as balanced in head as above but well balanced throughout and moving well.
SPB (5) 1 Allison’s Oberitz Candy Melt Well balanced black bitch with a lovely head pattern, eye, ear and expression. Well set neck and good body proportions. Front and back angulation well balanced. correct texture to coat and well set tail. Moved soundly at all times holding her topline well. BPIB. 2 Tonks’ Oberitz Happy Hour. Attractive head on this black, feminine expression with good eye and ear. Well bodied with good angles front and back. Not quite as mature in outlook as 1 but eventually settling into a nice stride to gain her place. 3 Hamers’ Clarmers Diamond Bear. Feminine little brown bitch, attractive head Not quite the eye of above but a well muscled puppy that moved soundly.
SJB (7, 1)This class was headed by 2 well made bitches who both showed off their attributes well. 1 Hamer’s Clarmers Gems A Diamond Still a puppy and a bit of a challenge to the measure but everything on this bitch was good to handle. She was very mature for her age, her head was well balance. Good shoulders body and angulation. Her coat texture was excellent and her tail well set on. She moved out soundly and was very well muscled. I hope she does not grow on or develop any further but on the day her slightly shorter broader loin and excellent topline gave her the edge on 2 Dyer’s Oberitz Sinful Delight’s A Jarvam. lovely head on this brown bitch and very similar attributes as 1 with well set neck and good body and balanced angulation. . Moved out well, but stood a fraction wide behind at times. 3 Godridge’s Lusam Razzle Dazzle. Finer in bone than 1 and 2 and shorter of coat but well made everywhere with appealing head proportions and expression and correct height to length ratio. Super mover when settled.
PGB (6) 1 Godridge’s Lusam Teasy Weasy. Mature gold bitch with balanced head proportions, feminine expression and attractive pigmentation. Correct neck fitting nicely into shoulders front and rear angles well balanced her lovely textured profuse coat added to her outline and she moved soundly using her well muscled quarters to advantage. 2 Allison’s Oberitz Firebee Black bitch very close up and pushed 1 very hard. A very good head and expression, and well made throughout with nice angles and moved well, not as coated as 1 on the day but will trouble the best when finished. 3 Andrew’s Runfold Diamond Lil Of Claran, black bitch finer throughout than 1 and 2. Good head and very feminine expression. Her proportions were good and she moved well.
LB (7, 1) 1 Kettle-Waite’s Lusam Spic N’Span Upstanding sable with lovely balance and excellent movement. Good head and eye and correctly set neck, nice feet. Correct body proportions and angulation, well set tail. 2 Godridge Lusam Teasy Weasy. 3 Sheasby’s Baobab Barley Sugar. A very well made cream bitch with a feminine well balanced head. Nice eye and ear and pigment. Enough neck and good body, well textured coat . Not the topline of 1 and 2 at times but a very sound true mover.
OB (10) Like OD a super class. 1 Lundin’s SE UCH SE Majolisa Zyxxez Mazelamazai. For me this bitch was the complete package. Nothing was exaggerated and like the DCC winner everything fitted into place. Very feminine head with good mouth, well set and used ears. Her strong neck of correct length fitted well into her shoulders giving a super head carriage. A good layback of shoulder with correct length and slope of upper arm. Good feet. Firm elbows and developed brisket. Short and strong loin. High set well feathered tail. Lovely balance of correct angulation both at front and rear enabling her to cover ground briskly and effortlessly. Her beautifully prepared coat was sufficiently profuse in the right places with no sign of trimming. All this with her outstanding true GS temperament at all times gave her BOB. 2 Pearce and Francis Ch Rimazet Serafino Of Longsdale JW. Neat mature little brown bitch. Very attractive head with good size ears and set on.. Not quite the balanced of height to length ratio as 1 but still with excellent front and rear and very well bodied. Full of confidence and importance she too had an excellent temperament. Her movement was positive and free. Not a lot of coat but well furnished tail and sufficient ruff. She pushed 1 all the way and edged out the competition to win RBCC. 3 Furber’s Holbain Likeher, cream bitch with acceptable slightly dilute pigmentation, attractive proportions to her head, good mouth ears and expression. Well boned and good body proportions, not a quite as buoyant as 2. Moved soundly in all directions. Correct texture to her coat. Three excellent quality bitches in a strong class.
GCB (4) 1 Ch Lusam Parti Popper SHCM 2 Kettle-Waite Lusam Spic N’Span 3 Trendle’s Lusam Super Spats. All previously seen.
