Critique
I have now judged German Spitz on several occasions having followed him closely since they were first introduced into UK. There have been many lovely dogs but there is no doubt that at Blackpool there were some outstanding and exception specimens of the breed in both sizes. My best of breed Klein in particular is a very impressive example of the breed but there were many close-up to her. My congratulations to breeders and exhibitors for really raising the standard over the years and certainly since I last judged them.
JD (3) 1 Jackson & Minshall's Holbain Just Like Bill. Just under the measure but otherwise a very nice outline and which exist moved extremely well. Has a lovely expression and in good coat. Perhaps just a little heavy in the chest. 2 Allison's Oberitz Thunderbird. A neat little dog with a good expression right size and outline not quite up to 1 on the move. 3 Thomas's Indizak Scarlett Feather, a nice example of the breed but expression just a little strong
PGD (2)1 Wright's Orion Shockwave. A beautiful example of the breed, just the right size a lovely outline with an excellent shape and correct body shape: good head and expression: moved extremely well. 2 Holmes & Leadbetter's Birlington Bertie Of Bow. Rather slight in build: tail set could be a little higher. Nice expression but rather shallow in chest and tending to run away from his handler so movement difficult to assess.
LD (4) 1 Serman's Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy. This is a lovely example of the breed: a beautiful outline, very well constructed with a super tail carriage and set. Moved extremely well. 2 Mole's Chilite Shooting Star. Another very good one though I marginally prefer expression of 1. Lovely outline, in excellent coat with good conformation. 3 Thomas' Cyfelin Rudna Razzle Dazzle From Indizak. Lovely head and expression. Just a little bit straight in the hindquarter and rather slight in build. Not quite the movement of those above.
OD (6) 1 This was a fabulous class with only one absentee. They were all very good despite marginal differences in expression. In the final analysis it came down to shoulder placement.1 Bradbury's Ch Wychlea Rhonday Vooh DCC. This is a superb and stylish example of breed with a beautiful expression, lovely movement excellent confirmation and in very good coat. 2 Norkett's Applebanks Thruppence RCC. Close up to 1 with not quite the shoulders or front angulation but nevertheless a lovely dog in superb coat. 3 Pearce & Francis' Ch Longsdale's Willie Win JW, another really classy and very good example of the breed though perhaps a little upright in shoulder.
PB (5,1) 1 Thomas' Seirian Breakin Dawn From Indizak BP. On the shy side but nevertheless a beautiful outline and a lovely head and expression moved very competently. 2 Godridge's Lusam Razzle Dazzle. Another nice one though picked up a little too much in front on the move but otherwise a very pretty dog. 3 Metcalfe's Flactem New Addition. Slightly chunky dog and something of an adolescent at the moment but a nice head and expression and moved well.
JB (4,1) 1 Godridge's Lusam Teasy Weasy. This is a cracking little dog with super with a beautiful expression, in excellent coat and with a lovely tail set and carriage. Moved very smoothly: a delight was certainly in contention for top honours today. 2 Tullis' Radajasa Double Agent Nyx. Another good one I little lower to ground but a very good tail set and also with an attractive expression. 3 Metcalfe's Flactem Oh So Wild. The right shape and conformation but let down by its rather choppy movement.
PGB (2) 1 Bradbury's Wychlea Vixen In The Dark. A neat example of the breed: a little short of coat but moved well and had a nice expression. 2 Wright & Thomas' Orion Sliver Spirit. A very nice dog with a good conformation and outline but rather loose at the elbow which spoiled his movement coming.
LB (2,1) 1 Allison Oberitz Cocoa Bean. Standing alone but a lovely example of the breed with a clean, the outline and an excellent expression. Moved very well could perhaps have slightly longer tail.
OB (3) 1 Pearce & Francis' Ch Longdale's Jen You Win Jw ShCM BCC BOB. We have already had some excellent dogs today but this bitch is a superlative example of the breed. She has a gorgeous head, is precisely the right size and has near perfect conformation and angulation reflected in superb movement: the best and most a stylish example of the breed I have ever seen. 2 Serman's Ch Tymy Footsteps JW RCC. Another very good one. At that at the smaller end of the scale but extremely well co-ordinated and balanced with good movement, super tail and lovely head. 3 May's Ayupduck Queen Bee Proportionally a little heavier in build and a little less angulated than those above which showed in its shorter stride on the move.
