Critique
A much appreciated invitation to judge this well appointed open show. I found the exhibits a pleasure to go over. A very few over size, and ears of varying sizes and placement. Temperament superb, presentation outstanding.
VETERAN DOG
1. Highmoores CH KARTMEL LEGOLAS D
11 half year old, black, one would think was a youngster, strong well muscled, short coupled. Very confident and full of himself, lovely dark eye of good shape, ear placed well, good reach of neck. Shoulderss and upper arm as were most today of correct length, and angle, which allows for good forward reach. Top line good, underline good. Excellent tail set. Sound on the move, but was a little erratic at times. Not due to conformation. B.V. Klien. Put up a good show in the challenge.
2. Trendle LUSAM CHARLIE DOBBY
MINOR PUPPY no entries
PUPPY DOG
1. Dyers OBERJTZ MELTING POINT AT JAVARM NAF.TAF.
10 month old brown. Very good for type, very confident free standing and on the table. Lovely head piece, keen expression, and biddable .Height and length correct, tail set very good. Elbows well tucked in. Front angles as I will say all through superb. Sound but front needs to tighten up coming. RBPD.
2. Hamer CHARMERS DIAMOND MISCHIEF D
JUNIOR DOG
1. Williams, Francis, Pearce, Williams LONGSDALE LETS GO TREBETTYN
Cream of excellent type, very good head proportions, good pigment, eye shape and colour very good, had a very biddable nature, which aided the handler in presentation, good front, straight fore legs, tidy feet, and elbows well tucked in. Top line firm, which included good tail set and carriage. Rear angles good, with firm short hock. Made good ground on side gait, but need to slow up coming and going. BPD. RBD.
2. Dyes OBERJTZ MELTING POINT AT JAV ARM NAF TAF.
POST GRAD DOG
1. Serman WYNDLEE TWIZZLE STICK BY TYMY
3 year old, black. Needs to body up, but having said that I felt he has all the makings to hand, good for type, good head piece, eye shape and colour good, very alert, and attentive. Reach ok, neck good. Nice round bone, tidy feet. Top line good, good chest proportions, tail set and carriage correct. Moved out well, steady even side gait, with reach and follow through. Looked good in the challenge, for a while that is, then seemed to loose interest. Promising though.
2. Morgans AHLENAGENS F ANCY THAT D
Lots to like about this one pushed hard for best . Cream & White, at 2 years old, good for type and, well presented, moved out well so balanced and quite confident
LIMIT DOG
1. Serman ROCHEDO BILL THE BADGER BY TYMY
About 2 half years old b/w and my notes suggest a bit of a lad, Extra confident, strong male expression, good head proportions, well padded muzzle, ear set good, neck of good length into high wither, which flowed into well muscled level top line. Another well excelled forehand, long bones, good angle. Tidy feet. Top line good. Depth of chest and spring of rib good. Rear assembly correct to, and his strong well balanced movement, liked him.
2. Becks" NARDIK TIGER WOODS"
Strong well developed black excellent proportions, sound, and light on his feet, pushed hard for best.
OPEN DOG
1. Francis & Pearce CH LONGSDALE'S WILLIE WIN
Just over two years old, and a stunning example of the breed, lovely in profile. Clean well chiselled head piece, alert and very sure of himself, I found him a delight to go over. Eye shape and colour very good, good ear set, pigment good. Especially ears and eyes. Clean neck of good length. Well defined wither. Excellent length of shoulder at the correct angle, same with the upper arm. This assembly gives him the
forward reach on side gait, which is so impressive. Top line and under line very good. Cream coat of good colour and texture, in full bloom and lying well. Tail good and well set. Rear angles good with just the right amount of turn, hocks very strong and firm. Delightful, and a credit to his owners. BD. Beaton for best Klien by his stable mate, but only just.
2. Jacksons HOLBAIN JUST LIKE BILL
Just over two years of age, cream and white, well developed male, on form and pushing hard for best, really gave him a second look, but the puppy gained my concentration, delightful in all areas, short coupled very good front, and rear assembly, impressive on the move.
VETERAN BITCH
Very strong class and a credit to all concerned.
1. Dyers CH WYCHLEA THE DUCHESS Shcm.
10 half year old black very agile and confident for her age, surprised at how firm her rear assembly was, but having said that the whole assembly was outstanding, Feminine expression, balanced head piece, neck and top line good another with the length of bone and angulation so prevalent today. Tidy feet, good top line. The handler well aware of how much I appreciate movement took her off at a steady
ground covering gait, delightful and sound all round. BV B.
2. Trendles CH LUSAM PARTI POPPER Shcm
MINOR PUPPY BITCH No entry
PUPPY BITCH
1. Allison OBERITZ CANDY MELT
10 month old black, compact and very good for type, attractive and steady on the table, very, very confident, pleasing head piece, both eyes and ears correct, good reach of neck through to level top line, which was firm and well muscled. She looked so well balanced on the table, and confirmed this on the move, again I felt the front and rear angles, had so much to do with her confirmation. Excellent for bone. Coat will improve, I feel she has a bright future.
2. Hamer's CLARMERS DIAMOND BEAR
JUNIOR BITCH
1. Tonks OBERITZ HAPPY HOUR
A very attractive puppy, Well presented, even if the handler appeared a little nervous. Compact, feminine and very biddable. Lovely soft expression with high set ears, strong in neck without being too stuffy. Short strong top line and shoulders long, good angles to upper arm. Tidy feet, on side gait she produced a soundness, a delight to watch, very smooth, but going and coming took her a little to fast which caused her to crab a little, soon corrected once you slowed down. BPB.
2. Hill CYFELIN SOLITAIRE
Well balanced sable, of good type well presented, and Ultra sound, feet could be better.
POST GRAD BITCH
1. Godridge's LUSAM TEAZY WEAZY
At just two years of age, gold very eye catching and presented in superb condition, balanced head piece, eye colour good ear set good. Had an expression which was full of devilment, loved it. Front proportions very good, including bone and very straight legs, tidy feet. Chest proportions good, elbows well tucked in. Good rear assembly, with moderate turn of stifle, hock well let down and firm. Ultra sound in all area's,
impressive. Gave her a second look for best bitch.
2. Allison OBERITZ HAPPY FEET
Cream sable, not a big girl but so well proportioned, excellent pigment, soft expression. Very tidy and as sound as they come.
LIMIT BITCH
1. Bradbury WYCHLEA VIXEN IN THE DARK
4 year old black. Striking substantial girl, balanced head, alert expression, clean good length to neck, well pronounced wither, shoulders of good length, good angle to pasterns. Top line firm, correct tail set good rear assembly, so much going for her, came up against some stiff opposition in the challenge. Close. Liked her.
2. Hamers CLARMERS CARAMEL SURPRISE
3 years plus, a delightful exhibit, mid gold, so feminine, rather round eye, but still caught my eye, tight lips. Very good ear set, neck to withers good. Super for condition, plenty of substance, all angles good had the front angle correct so important if you want forward reach. Top line firm and level. Enough rear angle to please, did well on the move.
OPEN
1. Francis & Pearce CH LONGSDALE JEN YOU WIN JW Shcm
4 year old cream, stunning to say the least, every inch of her, oozed quality, and put down in outstanding condition, coat groomed to perfection, quality head piece, coupled with eye shape and colour, ear set, correct. Plenty of neck, covered by coat but hands on found the length required. Shoulders as most today of correct length and angle, 45% upper gave it the perfect fore hand. Legs straight, pasterns strong, tidy feet. Chest proportions ideal, with elbows well tuck in, top and under lines good, tail carriage and set correct. Moderate turn of stifle, with a strong short hock, conformation paid off in movement producing smooth effortless side gait (slack lead) with true reach and drive coming and going. BB. B.in S. and so well deserved.
2. Garwoods PRINZAGEMS TANTALIZE
Superb black for her age one would say past it but I'm not having any of that, I found her a delight, square, even proportions in all area's, good for bone, outstanding temperament. My only concem, her front pastems could be firmer. Had a tendency to over run her handler. My eye was on her some of the time after best bitch. Liked her a lot. RBB.
In closing I would like to express my thanks to all concemed, a delightful day, charming handlers, outstanding exhibits. Hands as clean at the end as when I started. Brilliant.
