Critique
A delightful breed to judge, I thought a few strayed from type slightly. Generally those here were quite good movers. Some could have had cleaner teeth. Some exhibitors seem better at this than others.
PD (0). JD (1) 1 Beard’s Wyndlee Cam En Bear, very bouncy young dog, was sound when he put a few strides in. Square in outline with moderate & well balanced angulation. Well shaped head, correct stop, fairly flat in skull. Moderate neck. Super body & rib, level topline. Well set tail. Should do really well once he puts a few more steps in. PGD (2) 1 Spence’s Stormavon Sandpiper with Spencerian, square outline. Top size, but goes under measure. Masculine head, good eye & expression. Flat skull. Correct neck. Moderate angulation. Level topline. Well set tail. Parallel on move although slightly narrow front & rear. In full coat of correct texture; 2 Thomas’ Indizak Heart And Soul, square dog who is between coats. Wedge shaped head, slightly rounded in skull & ears could be smaller. Correct neck. Level topline with a short loin. Elbows could be tighter & could be a little tidier coming towards. Uses rear well, & shows so very well. LD (3,1a) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Longdale’s Woody Win, square dog very typical. He has a very good head, super eye shape & expression. Correct stop, flat skull. Ears could be smaller. Correct neck. Moderate angulation front & rear. Super body & rib. Coat is a little soft. Well set tail. Very good mover & shows so very well. Loved his shape, see that I gave his mother a CC. CC & BOB; 2 Thomas’ Indizak Scarlett Feather, square dog. Not the head of 1. He is slightly short in muzzle & rounded in skull. Correct neck. Level topline. Well spring ribs. Well set tail. Just a little wide in front action, uses rear well; 3 Holmes & Leadbetter’s Birlington Bertie Of Bow. OD (4) 1 Jackson & Minshall’s Holbain Just Like Bill, square in outline with a super head. Correct proportions, good eye & expression. Neat ears. Enough neck. Well made front. Well sprung ribs. Short loin. Could have a little more hind angulation, but uses rear well. RCC; 2 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdale’s Willie Win, really sound dog, just a fraction longer than 1. Correct neck. Well made front. Level topline. He has a fraction too much hind angulation & could be tidier in front. Very good in profile & a great showman; 3 Wright’s Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy.
PB (2) 1 Bradbury’s Oberitz Topsy Turvy for Wychlea, very promising pup. Feminine head, lovely eye & expression. Ears OK. Correct neck. Well balanced in angulation. She is just a bit more square than 2 & firmer in topline. Just needs to firm in front action. Lovely prospect. RCC & BP; 2 Allison’s Oberitz Interstellar, very promising. Maybe a little strong in head. Dark eyes. Correct neck. Well balanced & moderate angulation. Well sprung ribs. High set tail. Again can firm in front. JB (2,1) 1 Spence’s Seirian Stargazer with Spencerian, square bitch determined to do things her way. Feminine head. Almond eyes, flat skull. Correct neck. Level topline. Maybe a little too moderate in angulation, but balanced. Can be tidier out & back, very good in profile. PGB (1) 1 Williams’ Stormavon Silverangel at Megahra, square bitch, not making best of herself on table, but shows so well on floor. Feminine head, would prefer just a little more width of muzzle. Flat skull, correct stop, ears could be smaller. Correct fairly short neck. Very moderate in angulation. Well bodied. Level topline with high set tail. Very accurate out & back. LB (3) 1 Allison’s Oberitz Firebee, very well made, square bitch who moved so well. Lovely eye & expression, could be wider in underjaw. Correct neck. Balanced in angulation. Level topline with a well set tail. Nice feet; 2 Serman’s Wychlea Lady In The Mirror by Tymy, lots to admire about her. Feminine head. Slightly round in eye, ears OK. Correct neck. Level topline. Well sprung ribs. Just a bit unsettled moving; 3 Williams’ Foxy Nose Zahra at Megahra. OB (3,1) 1 Bradbury’s Ch Wychlea Vixen In The Dark, feminine bitch with a lovely head. Dark, expressive eyes. Correct neck. Could have a shorter back. Well sprung ribs. Moderate in angulation. Moves so very well & in super coat. CC; 2 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longdale’s Jen You Win, square outline with very good angulation front & rear & so moves out well. Very between coats today, & what she has is a little soft. Pleasing head, super pigmentation. Correct neck. Level topline. Well set tail.
