Critique

My thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and also to my efficient stewards.   SWKA was my first appointment with CC’s for GS in 2001 so it was particularly special.  I was pleased on the day to find sufficient quality dogs in quite a small entry so it may or may not have been representative of the breed.

Kleins   MPD 0, PD 0 JD 3 (0) 1 Penwarne’s Oberitz Hot Pursuit to Sheldmar.  Black dog, top size with masculine head of good proportions and flat scull, ears well set and used.   Correctly set neck. Good angles front and back.  Well developed body, Enough straight coat   Presents a pleasing outline.  Movement sound just needs tighten up in front as he matures. 2.  Dyer’s Oberitz Curiosity At Javam smaller slightly shorter in loin black.  Attractive well proportioned head, not in his best jacket but nothing hidden,  not as forward in body development as 1.  Just needs to drop in brisket as he matures, a tad close coming and going, but as juniors they both have time on their side. 3 Bamford’s Kysiena Spring Tide At Hazdawn. PGD 5 (0) 1 Beard’s Wyndlee Cam En Bear.  Brown with good head proportions and sufficient breadth of skull, more oblique eye would enhance his expression, well developed body and nice bone.  Good front and back angulation.  Moved soundly both ways. 2 Lewis’ Indizak Hakuna Matata At Louchelle.  Neat little sable dog with correct coat texture, attractive head but a fraction short in muzzle, neat ears.   Well coupled, but would like a tad more angulation behind, though he moved soundly. 3 Dyer’s Oberitz Curiosity at Jarvam. LD 4 (0) 1)Bamford’s Applebanks Golldfinger at Hazedawn  Liked this dog very much, up to the measure but he handles so well with good bone.   Good head and eye but ears could be smaller, enough neck and well placed shoulders and good well developed body, correct textured light orange coat.  Good balanced angulation that showed in his easy flowing movement and a strong contender in the challenge.    2 Dyer’s Oberitz melting point at Jarvam.  Smaller finer boned dog with attractive head, not as well developed as 1 moved well behind a tad high in front.  3 Baylis' Kysiena Enchanted Sky. OD 7 (0) 1 Pearce and Francis Fin Ch Pasifixin Riki Martin With Longsdale.  Black dog up to measure with a super head ears and eye, Neck well let into correct shoulders, very well developed body and strong short loin.  Well set tail. Sufficient coat.  Moved soundly coming and going with brisk action could have a fraction more extension in side gate but could not deny this dog’s overall quality DCC and his compact well knit body gave him BOB.  2 Wright and Halligan’s Nardik Eclipse,   black dog I have judged previously as a youngster, has developed into  a most attractive exhibit , well coated with a good topline, well developed body, good loin and angulation, well proportioned head but not the eye and, ear and outlook  of 1, moved well  in side gait not so precise coming forward.   I am sure these two with different attributes could change places many times.  RDCC   3 Jackson and Minshall’s Holbain Just Like Bill. VD (0) GDC D (0)

MPB 1 (0) Pearce and Francis Longsdale Dilemma.  Not a dilemma for me, a very promising  black puppy with a correct head eye and ear, well proportioned all over with sufficient coat and moving soundly in both directions, showing off her assets so well.  BPIB.  PB (0) JB 1 (0) 1Bamford’s Applebanks April Showers At Hazdawn.  Brown and White Parti.  Good head proportions with neat ears and good expression.   Enough neck and good body.   Nice texture to coat. Needs to settle on the move. PGB 2 (0) Penwarne’s Oberitz Vertigo At Sheldemar.  This brown bitch has excellent head proportions and flat skull, well placed eye and ears. Neck fits nicely into well placed shoulders and good depth of brisket with correct length of leg not always easy to find.  Correct loin and croup with well set tail.  Correct texture to coat.    Liked her good muscle tone and balanced angulation that added to her excellent movement at all times and in all directions whilst effortlessly holding her topline CC  2 Applebanks Sky At Midnight At Hazedawn. Well coated black with good head properties. Not the balance of 1 but otherwise sound in all departments with good movement in both directions. LB (1) Allison’s Oberitz Firebee.  This lovely well coated black was a strong contender for the CC but had to give way in the final run off to the more composed PG winner...  She has a lovely head with good eyes ears and expression square in outline with correct well balanced angulation and a good well developed body, sufficient glimpses of her correct movement to award her RCC. OB 4 (1) Hammer and Cree’s Ch Clarmer’s Caramel Surprise.  Another lovely bitch not the head proportions of 2 above, but pushing hard in the challenge with her compact outline, good bone well developed body and neat angulation.  A clean and brisk mover.    2 Chamber’s Printzagems ChViva La Diva For Printzagems.   Very feminine black bitch with a lovely correctly proportioned head,   well made throughout, but not as compact or balanced as 1.  moved cleanly in all directions   3 Quinn’s Ir Ch Clarmers Diamond Bear.
