German Spitz Klein
As always I enjoyed judging the breed. Type was mixed & some were a little too fine & short on leg. A few round skulls & short forefaces.
Many thanks to my stewards, Doug Telford & David Sutton.
PD 1 Oberitz Hot Pursuit to Sheldamar, 10 months black, sturdily built with good bone. Top size, just a touch long for perfect balance. Good head shape & proportions. Eyes could be darker. Good topline. Movement a little loose. JD 1 Jansanleis He rocks My Boat to Claran, 16 months cream, beautifully balanced & square, fits comfortably under the measure. Sturdy bone, good conformation & full of type. Skull could be a little flatter but good foreface, eyes & ears. Moves well holding a correct topline. Harsh coat. I liked him a lot, just needs a little more body. RCC; Indizak Nakuna Matata at Louchelle, 15 months cr/s, smaller type, in good coat. Skull a little round & foreface short. Not the angulation of 1 which showed on the move. Squarely built, in good coat. PGD 1 Applebanks Goldfinger at Hazdawn, 2 years orange with excellent coat. He is top size but very well constructed with a very good shoulder. Good head & eye but ears rather large. Went briskly & very good in rear; 2 I Nakuna Matata at Louchelle. LD 1 Indizak Scarlet Feather, 3 years o/s, small & sturdy. I would prefer a little more substance & slightly larger eyes. Won on coat texture & soundness of action here; 2 Kysiena Enchanted Sky, 2½ years parti who looked my winner standing being a little large & more substantial. Coat texture could be better & he was not going well in the rear. OD 1 Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy, 4 years parti, won on his lovely balance & sturdy build. Has good head type & very good rear. Front action a little loose. Oval eyes could be a shade darker. Scored in rear & balance. CC; 2 Holbain Just Like Bill, 3 years cream, in very full coat which just takes away from his outline & balance but on the table I liked him a lot. Sound & brisk in action. Winner a little more masculine in head. Will have better days; 3 Goldritz Stole The Sun.
PB 1 Oberitz Topsy Turvy for Wychlea, 7 months, outstanding puppy destined for great things. Squarely built with sufficient bone, excellent feet. Very good conformation, movement & coat. Feminine head of good type which needs just a little more time but I loved her & she won CC & BOB; 2 Oberitz Interstellar, 8 months black. A little longer cast but has good bone & substance & a good head. Her front action is very loose at the moment; 3 Claran Fern. JB 1 Buffmyster Leading Lady, 16 months black, squarely built & full of type. Good to go over on the table but a little bit of a handful for her owner on the move but she scored on front action & balance to win this class. Good headpiece; 2 Applebanks April Showers, 12 months parti in excellent coat & condition. A touch short on the leg for perfect balance. Lovely head, eye & ears. Front action was rather loose; 3 Jayfeather Busy Bee. PGB 1 Oberitz Vertigo at Sheldamar, 20 months brown, easy winner of this class for type & proportions. Square & sturdy with good leg length. Not yet fully mature in chest & body but very good carriage & lovely head & coat texture; 2 Chilite Indian Shadow, 3 years chocolate, carrying too much weight & too much coat but she has a lot of Spitz qualities in head & bone & substance. Sound action but topline soft. Won this place on her balance & bone; 3 Applebanks Sky At Midnight at Hazdawn. LB 1 Runfold Diamond Lil of Claran, almost 3 years, lovely proportions with good leg length & excellent bone & moves very well. Not yet in full coat but what she had was in of good texture. Scored in ear placement & tailset for me here; 2 Wychlea Lady In The Mirror By Tymy, another very good black bitch who was in close contention for first place. In better coat than 1 & is very typy all through. I slightly preferred earset & expression of 1; 3 Clarmers Diamodn Bear. OB 1 Ch Wychlea Vixen In The Dark, 3 years black, beautiful type & balance & excellent movement. In very good coat & has substance & bone & yet is still feminine. RCC to her young kennelmate, a super pair; 2 Lusam Toodle Pip, 4 years sable, excellent movement & a good coat texture. Good head type. Ears a little large. Couldn’t match 1 in topline on the day.
