I have to say I found a couple of serious faults in 90% of the Kleins & Mittels shown today sadly.
The most worrying are the number of dogs who ‘weave’ due to faulty elbows, which gives the appearance of Queen Anne fronts on the move, where the dogs feet converge whether it is moving at speed or not because the legs circle outwards to in. If you see your dog’s forelegs flipping in a semicircle in front then the elbow & upper arm construction is faulty.
The second is the big round eyes parked on the front of the head instead of being oval shape & obliquely set.
Breeders & judges alike are responsible for these serious & obvious faults being seen & rewarded in the show ring.
VD (0). PD (0). JD (3,1a) 1 Bamford’s Kysiena Spring Tide at Hazdawn, 15 months b/w parti, excellent bite & good teeth, lovely small ears well set, his head is a good Spitz wedge with a well shaped & set eye, he was in good coat & looks very promising, lacks a bit of rear angulation; 2 Dyer’s Oberitz Curiousity, 12 months black quite out of coat, he has an attractive Spitz head, good mouth, needs to tighten in front. PGD (1) 1 Beard’s Wyndlee Cam En Bear, 18 months choc boy with good bone & tight feet, he moved well in profile. He is a bit round in eye but a nice youngster. LD (3) 1 Bamford’s Applebanks Goldfinger at Hazdawn, a surprise boy who really comes together on the move, he has a lovely orange coat, dark eye & good Spitz wedge. He lifted the measure but screamed ‘pick me, pick me’ as he moved around the ring; 2 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s Woody Win, dark choc boy with a good head, slightly tall ears, he has excellent bone & feet but did not settle & move out well around the ring; 3 Beck’s Nardik Tiger Woods. OD (6) 1 Wright & Halligan’s Nardik Eclipse, a black sable in full coat, he has a good Spitz wedge & good eye set although slightly round, he has good straight bone & tight feet & moved soundly enough although I would prefer more animation. CC, BOB; 2 Serman’s Ch Rochedo Bill The Badger by Tymy, b/w parti out of coat but good bone & feet with good rear angulation, he lost his focus on the move as did most of the males today with a carpeted ring. RCC; 3 Hamer’s Clarmers Diamond Mischief. GCD (0).
VB (0). PB (1) 1 Bradbury’s Oberitz Topsy Turvy for Wychlea, 10 months black girl looking a bit out of coat & long cast today, slightly tall ears, beautiful even teeth & bite, she has good profile movement but her front is not her fortune, hopefully will strengthen with maturity. BP. JB (1) 1 Bamford’s Applebanks April Showers at Hazdawn, choc/w parti, good Spitz wedge head & tight feet, good profile movement but loose in front. PGB (5,1) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale Feel Free To Stare, beautiful body & outline on this cream bitch, far & away the best mover today, her head is slightly too strong & rounded rather than wedge. Beautiful pigment & beautiful coat & condition. RCC; 2 Garwood’s Buffmyster Star Of The Show, b/w parti, a small girl but she is well balanced, she has sufficient bone with tight feet, lovely tailset & a charming girl; 3 Beck’s Holbain Honey Bunny. LB (4,2) 1 Wright’s Chilite Indian Shadow, choc girl with pretty head, sound strong legs, good rear angulation, looks a little low on leg but when standing she comes together; 2 Serman’s Wychlea Lady In The Mirror by Tymy, a nice attractive black girl who was very unsettled by all the noise & did not enjoy herself. OB (3) 1 Hamer’s Ch Clarmers Caramel Surprise, lovely strong well made gold girl, pretty feminine head with slightly round eye, very well knit body, good bone & feet & she moved really well, very nice all through. CC; 2 Bradbury’s Ch Wychlea Vixen In The Dark, a girl I have liked for ever, a worthy Ch, she has good profile movement & handled the floor well, although today she seemed to stand with her front legs too far forward making her look a little long cast; 3 Wright’s Chilite Lunar Moon.
