Critique

Very conscious that this was my first time awarding CC’s in the breed and I approached the task with some humility.I thank exhibitors for their entry and the sporting manner in which my placings were accepted

Puppy Dog (3,)

1.  Mesd. Tullis & Barbour’s RADAJASA’S CASANOVA. Up to size but well put together with enough neck, well proportioned wedge-shaped head with eyes slightly obliquely set, ears not too large and correct teeth and bite.Alert, cheerful demeanour, straight forelegs with strong pasterns, this boy moved and showed very well.

2.  Mr S Wright’s MONTBLANC BJORN IRONSIDE AT ORION (IKC). Very compact in outline, but slightly more neck would have been advantageous. Good earset and bite but like very many others the eyes appeared more round than oval. Lovely chocolate coat and in outline moving very well indeed

3.  Miss T Beck’s NARDIK MYLO XYLOTO

Junior Dog ( 4 )

1. Hughes & Forrester’s INDIZAK SHADES OF WINTER IN CANDEASE. Well constructed and balanced with good front and rear angulation, short level back, high tailset, enough neck and pleasing head and expression.

2.  Mr & Mrs Mole’s CHILITE PIMA INDIAN Also showed with confidence and with sufficient desirable breed quality to push the winner hard.

3.  Mrs Hayward’s CHILITE DESERT FOX

Postgraduate Dog (3.)

1.  Mesd. Moir’s JANSANLEIS LOUD “N” PROUD naf Quite unhappy on the table but sufficiently recovered on the move to display what I considered the best front movement in this class. Well placed eyes and ears.

2.  CHILITE DESERT FOX.Compact and sturdy with excellent tailset and carriage. Lovely temperament but I would prefer a shade more muzzle length.

3.  Pearce,Francis & Williams’ LONGSDALE DEVIL IN DISGUISE WITH TREBETTYN

Limit Dog  ( 1.)

1.  MESD. Andrew & Moir’s JANSANLEIS HE ROCKS MY BOAT TO CLARAN. Like so many of the boys here today  up to size, but a handsome, sturdy and compact dog with good angulation front and rear, strong pasterns and compact cat-like feet.Legs of sufficient length in proportion to body.Well proportioned head with enough width to skull and small highset ears.Great showmanship and ring presence. Dog CC

Open Dog ( 8,1 abs.)

1.  Mesd. Jackson & Minshall’s  CH HOLBAIN JUST LIKE BILL. So nice on the move. Compact outline, in beautiful coat,  well ribbed up with level topline and highset tail. Very similar in most respects to my CC winner, just not the one I preferred on the day.Reserve Dog CC

2.  Mole’s CHILITE SHOOTING STAR. Very alert and showy with a lovely coat not obscuring sufficient length of neck. Moved well, displaying a compact outline

3.  Mr & Mrs Halligan’s NARDIK NEW MOON AT ICABEL JW ShCM

Puppy Bitch  ( 6,1 abs.)

1.  Mrs Corr’s CRYSTALCLEAR PRETTY IN PINK. Lovely bitch already playing her part well in the ring.Up to size, but not as long in the body as some. Very alert and cheerful, good mover and showing a balanced outline. In good puppy coat, head maturing nicely, with oval obliquely set eyes and erect high-set ears. Great expression. Best Puppy

2.  Mesd. MacBain & Shepherd’s FECIMUS THE GOOD FAIRY. Also very well constructed with good angulation front and rear. Always nice to see some forechest along with appropriate tailset and carriage. Will look even better as her coat matures

3. Mesd. Tullis’ RADAJASA’S GRETA ZELLE

Junior Bitch  ( 7. )

1.  FECIMUS THE GOOD FAIRY. As in the previous class

2. Mrs G Bradbury’s PRINTZAGEMS THIRD DEGREE BY WYCHLEA. Compact body and good angulation front and rear. Alert and showy, presenting a good impression in the ring especially given the poor movement of several others in this class

3. Mrs J Mellor’s NIRVANA SUNSET AT BELLAPIP

Postgraduate Bitch  ( 7,2 abs )

1.  Beck’s HOLBAIN HONEYBUNNY.Compact, sturdy and with a well finished appearance in a breed not meant to appear etiolated.Good head and expression, moving and showing with conviction. Reserve Bitch CC.

2.  Mrs A Griffith’s CYFELIN PEASE BLOSSOM. Another who appealed for not having an excessively dainty appearance. Well balanced and sound with a nice head.

3.  Mesd. Moir & Corkin’s JANSANLEIS HOPE “N” GLORY

Limit Bitch  ( 2 )

1.  Mrs N Allison’s OBERITZ CANDY MELT. Alert, lively and sound with a firm grasp of showmanship. Well sprung ribs and level topline. Once in the ring you knew she was there.

2.  Wright’s CHILITE INDIAN SHADOW. Her relative lack of enthusiasm did her no favours in a straight comparison between the only two in the ring

Open Bitch  ( 5. )

1.  Tullis’ IR. CH. RADAJASA DOUBLE AGENT NYX JUN CH. Nearly the last class of the day and there she was pretty much exemplifying how I think the breed should be. No need to repeat what I was looking for, she had it and more. In particular her movement was as the standard states, brisk, clean and with good drive behind.. Bitch CC & BOB.

2.  Miss L Rogerson’s NOSREGOR LIES “N” DECEIT. Very appealing bitch but not the movement of my winner.

3.  Mr & Mrs Hill’s CYFELIN SOLITAIRE

Veteran Bitch   |( 1 )

1.  Wright’s CHILITE LUNAR MOON. Very friendly, compact, sound and in good coat. Showed and moved well and an excellent example of the health and staying power of the breed.
