Critique

German Spitz Breeders & Owners Club held an Open show where BIS was Ch Longsdale’s Willie Win, Klein; RBIS, Ch Spellcast Secrets And Lies, Mittel; & BP, Nixtev Yazara, Mittel.

To be invited to judge at a breed club is always an honour & it’s even more special when it’s not one’s breed. A big thank you to the committee & exhibitors for a most enjoyable day with a quality entry & such good sportsmanship.

KLEIN – LD (2) 1 RBD Hamer & Cree’s Wyndlee Cam En Bear with Clarmer, brown, pleasing compact shape. Nice wedge head, neat ears & good pigment. Good legs & neat feet. Good rib & topline. In good coat. Sound movement; 2 Beck’s Nardik Tiger Woods, black, a tad longer cast than 1. Nice head proportion, prefer slightly smaller ears. Fair bone & nice feet. Pleasing body & coat texture. Nice tailset. A little close behind & not the profile of 1. OD (5,1a) Super class. 1 BOB BIS Francis & Pearce’s Ch Longsdale’s Willie Win, cream, with lovely masculine head, neat ears, well shaped dark eye. Good legs & feet. Enough neck to give elegance, well ribbed, level topline & good tailset. Excellently presented coat, well muscled quarters. True fore & aft & excels in profile; 2 Francis & Pearce’s Ch Longsdale’s Woody Win, brown, good overall balance. Pleasing head, prefer slightly smaller ears, well shaped eye. Straight front & tidy feet. In nice body, level topline good tailset, nicely presented coat. Good brisk action fore & aft but lost a little in profile; 3 Wright & Halligan’s Ch Nardik Eclipse, well balanced with masculine outlook. Pleasing head, would prefer a slightly darker eye. Front & feet OK. In good body & coat of nice texture. Moved a little close behind. VD (1) 1 Beck’s Lasaulette Rustic Rudyard, b/w parti of nice shape & size. Lovely evenly marked head, dark eye of correct shape, good bite. Straight front & neat feet. Adequate neck & good body & coat texture. Pleasing front action but rear action a little restricted.

PB (1) 1 BP RBPIS Francis & Pearce’s Fecimus That’s How You Know Longsdale, brown with feminine outlook. Good eye & bite. Nice front & feet. Body OK & changing coat. Nice rear angulation with good topline & tailset. Smart brisk movement, although a little loose in front at present. JB (1) 1 Baker’s Clarmers Ruby Red, brown. Nice head shape. Good eye. Front OK if a little 10 to 2. Nice body & topline, another changing coat. Pleasing overall shape, moved a little close & needs a slightly quicker pace to make the most of her. LB (2) 1 RBB Francis & Pearce’s Longsdale’s Dilemma, black with smart compact outline. Feminine head, dark eyes, good bite, neat ears. Straight front & good feet. Nice rib & level topline, good tailset. Moderate rear angulation. A tad close behind on the move but presents a good profile; 2 Avery’s Aveka’s Estrellita, b/w parti with a little more substance although fair balance. Neat ears. Straight legs although a little down on pasterns. Good body & good coat texture with good tailset. Smart brisk action but lost profile. VB (1) 1 BB Francis & Pearce’s Ch Rimazet Serafino, brown, lovely make & shape & really feminine. Nice ears, good eye shape & good bite. Nice front & good feet. Nice rib & topline. In good coat. Moved with good brisk action & pleased in profile.
