Paignton Championship Dog Show 07/08/2018
Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge and my two efficient stewards. All exhibits where well presented with clean dentition. Although a disappointing number of entries there was quality throughout. Thank you to the exhibits who entered and made it an enjoyable day.

PD (1)
1st) Sutherland’s Cyfelin Man In Black - 9month old of good size. Masculine head and good eye. Well set ears which he used to advantage. Correct dentition. He still needs to firm up in front but his shoulders are well angulated. Neat catlike feet and plenty of bone. Well rounded rib and developed loin. Moderately angulated hindquarters and presents a balanced outline when stood. Level topline and good tailset which he retains on the move. Moved soundly when settled. Pushed the bitch puppy hard for Best Puppy but was really giving his handler a hard time in the challenge and just refused to show. Still did enough in the dog challenge to win BD & BOS.

Very close decision between these two.
1st) Bayliss’ Kyseina Chant of the Dream at Karmajen. 2.5 year old parti. Good head and super eye shape, oval and obliquely set. ears of correct shape and when he would use them well set. Correct dentition. Well made throughout with moderate angulation. Well ribbed up and short loin. Level topline unfortunately he had a tendency to drop his tail which was slightly low set. Moved straight and true fore and aft.
2nd) Hewitt’s Oberitz New Horizons - this black male is in the best of condition and well muscled throughout, with a gleaming coat but unfortunately lacked in undercoat today. Masculine head and oval eye. Ears a little large which can detract from the overall picture. Correct dentition. Clean neck of good length leading onto well angulated shoulders. Longer cast than 1st. Good hindquarters, level topline and tail well set. Moved well in profile and behind but he didn’t take his eyes of his handler which resulted in him high stepping in front.
OD (2,1abs)
1st) Sutherland’s Chilite Chogan - 2 year old shaded black who really had his mind on the ladies today giving his handler a really hard time. Masculine head, good eye but not quite the eye of BD. Triangular ears, well set which he used most of the time. Correct dentition. Well made throughout with moderate angulation, good spring of rib. Plenty of bone with good feet. When he would cooperate and stand he presenting a pleasing outline. He was so sound on the move which won him RBD

1st) Moon’s Galvizach Ellexia - 10 month old and full of attitude a real show girl. Her handler presented her in fantastic condition and she was in full well presented coat. Feminine head, the best of ears which are small, triangular and set high. To be critical I would prefer a better eye shape. Correct dentition. Good length of neck leading onto well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm. Straight front and enough bone with the neatest of feet. Sometimes of the free stack she can overstretch herself but when you get your hands on her she is compact. Level topline which was retained on the move, well set tail. When she settled she moved soundly from all angles. RBB & BPIB.
PGB (3)
1st) Mellor’s Nirvana Sunset at Bellapip - Black and white parti who is presented in immaculate condition and handled to perfection by her young handler. She catches your eye with her balanced outline. Feminine head with oval eye which is well set and correct dentition. Small ears of good shape which are well set and used to advantage. Well made front, with good bone and catlike feet. Well ribbed up and has a short muscular loin. Moderately angulated hindquarters and well muscled. Moved soundly. BB & BOB.
2nd) Bayliss’ Kyseina She Who Wears Fur at Karmajen - Brown and white parti on the smaller side who unfortunately is a little shy. Head is ok but has a good eye, correct dentition and pigment. Straight front, well bodied. Would prefer a little more angulation behind. Level topline, tailset could be set higher. Moved well when settled.
3rd) Hewitt’s Oberitz Fully Dressed.
