My thanks to the Committee of the GSCofGBss for this appointment which I had been looking forward to all year. There are quite a number of long nailed & flat feet  & serious lack of muscle tone in the dogs that I judged & a couplejust didn’t want to be there. On the up I was absolutely delighted with the entry in general. Thank you for providing my two stewards. Also a huge thank you for the 2019 Calender & the superb lunch.

KLEIN DOGS:
VETERAN:[4,2ABS].1.Sermans blk/w parti.CH.ROCHENDO BILL THE BADGER BY TYMY.Typical spitzy head, high set triangular ears, good in stop, sweet dark oval eye, & clean cheeks. All in all a sweet masculine expression. He has compact body lines where everything fits together making it near impossible to wrong foot himself.Super bone with neat well padded cat like feet. Have seen him in better coat but what he had was clean & well presented. Moved really well. A well deserved champion. 2. Becks NARDIK TIGER WOODS. A well coated & presented black. He has a typical head with small high set triangular ears, good stop & dark eyes. He is well filled under the eyes & in foreface with a sweet masculine outlook. Good in body lines with moderate angulation, firm topline & well set& carried tailcarriage. All in all a nicely balanced dog. Unfortunately he didn’t move at all well today. M/P/D no entries.
P/D: [1] 1.Pearce & Frances LONGSDALES HEAT OF THE MOMENT very hansome brown who took my breath away. He has a typical spitzy head with high set small triangular ears, a medium broad nearly flat scull, correct stop, well set oval eyes which blend well with his coat colour & a well balanced foreface with good dentition. His well balanced moderately angulated body lines are a knockout for one so young. He has good bone, super well padded cat like feet & his body fitting coat was presented to perfection. Very good to watch on the move. I was tempted to place him higher but obviously he hasn’t the maturity yet. BPD,BPIB, RCC & BPIS. Well done!
J/D:[2].1.Jackson & Minshalls cream PERRYMERE JUST BERTIE   who was in super coat & condition. He has a  balanced body of moderate proportions & a sweet balanced head with good pigment although I thought his ears could be smaller & tighter set. He has dark oval eyes & is well filled under them & good dentition with tight lipline. He has a moderately short & strong neck set into well laid shoulders with firm topline & abundantly coated high set & carried tail carriage. He has good bone with small neat cat like feet & he moved very well but in my opinion slightly more length to leg would benefit. 2. Sutherlands CYFELIN MAN IN BLACK. Only just in this class. Very nice but immature baby of compact design with enough bone & small tight feet which were well padded. He carries a profuse coat which was well presented but hopefully will harshen as he matures. He has a balanced head with dark eyes & pigment & he is good for size. A bit wayward on the move. Will watch his development with interest.
P/G/D.[5].1.Andrews CLARAN KIWI. Richly coloured w/s of compact proportions in profuce harsh coat which was presented clean with every hair in place. Super sweet expression with typical spitzy outlook. He has a straight front with good brisket & bone for his ideal size, also small neat cat like feet which were well padded. A moderately strong & short neck into well laid shoulders & firm topline with profuse feathering on his well set & carried tail. He has short hocks & strong pasterns & moved with a brisk & easy movement. Like him a lot. 2. Trendles cream LUSAM CHEEKY BOY. Top size but very well balanced. He has a medium broad scull & a proper wedge shaped head with good pigment. Good stop & deeply set oval eye shape. Tight lipline & good dentition. His moderately strong neck is set into well laid shoulders & he has a firm topline with well plumed tail which was high set. His full coat was clean & well presented & his feet are neat & catlike with short nails & he is well muscled up. Good movement. 3.Hughes o/s INDIZAK RED WINTER. Nice class.
L/D.[5].1. Dyer & Orrs MUSIQUE WISHFUL THINKING JW. Brown. Compact & short coupled with moderately short & strong neck into well laid shoulders & firm topline. His head is masculine with high set ear carriage, almost flat scull & good wedge head. In my opinion he is too deep in stop but has a really nice eye colour & shape. He is well filled in under the eyes & has a firm lipline & good dentition. He has a good length to his legs which are well boned for his size & small neat feet. He is well muscled & carries a good harsh coat which was well presented. Not moving as well today. 2. Hills sable FERNANDO Z TEMNYCH NOCI AT CYFELIN. This is a sweet masculine head which on balance could be a tad longer. His pigment & eye colour is excellent & his stop is correct. He also has a tight lipline & good dentition. His abundant coat has the right texture & it was clean & well presented. He has enough bone for his size & small neat well padded feet. Also most important is good muscle tone & movement which he obliged with. 3. Bramfords KYSIENA CHANT OF THE DREAM AT KARMAJEN.
O/D.[3,2abs].1. Sermans PRINZAGEMS LATE ARRIVAL FOR TYMY. Black who is finer than those above & completely out of coat so nothing to hide.Very spitzy outlook with good wedge to head, smallish high set triangular ears almost flat scull, correct stop & deep set dark oval shaped eyes. His moderately short neck is set into well laid shoulders & he has a firm topline with high set & carried tail. He is well muscled & has moderate angles. Moved ok.
CH/D.[2]1. Dyers CH.OBERITZ CURIOSITY AT JAVARM.Although I have seen him in better coat this boy stood out for me in his maturity. Truly jet black harsh coat, full around his neck, fitting over his compact body lines then profuse over his high set tail. He was relaxed & attentative towards his handler. He has a really spitzy head & expression, small triangular ears set on high, a slightly rounded scull, correct stop & dark deep set oval eyes, nice tight lipline & good bite. His moderately angled body lines, short loin & good bone structure with straight front legs, good brisket & small neat well padded feet enabled his easy brisk flow around the ring. CC&BOS. 2. Beck & Halligans CH,NARDIK ECLIPSE. A very mature & masculine head with good balance & pigment. He has a good expression with correct stop, deep set oval eyes & well filled in foreface with correct tight lipline. He was in abundant coat of harsh texture & well presented. He has good bone and moderate angles but needs more muscle tone for the ideal. Good for size & movement ok.

KLEIN BITCHES:
VETERAN.[2].1. Hills INT/GER.CH.EDBURTON LLYNGOES AT CYFELIN. This wonderfully lively personality was amazing for her age. Super well presented cream coat in full bloom. Her head is broad but feminine, moderate stop, dark oval eyes & good pigment. Nice wedge head from all angles. Moderately short strong neck into well laid shoulders & surprising firm topline. Her well plumed tail is high set & carried over her back. When she moves she retains her topline & is a steady mover. 2.Trendles b/w parti CH.LUSAM PARTI POPPER Sh.CM. Super head & expression with all the right angles although well placed her ears could be smaller.Correct stop & dark deep set oval eyes. Wonderful dentition for her age.She is compact & moderately angled & well off for bone with small neat feet which were well padded. Also well muscled & moved with ease. Two really nice bitches.
M/PB:[2].1.Orrs RADAJASA’S BLACK PEARL WITH SOBRIETY. In terrific coat for a babe.Really nice moderate balance all through with good bone & neat feet. She was well presented & movement a little erratic but forgiveable today.BPB. 2.Hughes.RADAJASA’S MARY TOUVESTRE FOR CANDEASE.Absolutely needs time to develope to be herself. She does have a very sweet spitzy expression & needs to grow into her ears which are high set. Her eyes are oval, darkly pigmented & set deeply in her face. When she stood still there was a hint of what could be. I will watch her progress with interest.
P/B no entries.
J/B.[3,1abs].1.Bradburys. WYCHLEA IN THE PURPLE. Spitzy head with typical expression.Straight front, deep brisket, moderately angled & slightly longer in loin for the ideal but strong neck into well laid shoulders & firm topline which she held at all times. She has small well padded cat like feet. She had left most of her black coat at home but she was well presented & her movement was free & brisk. 2.Moons GALVIZACH ELLEXIA. Typical spitzy head & expression which was spoiled by a round eye. Her black coat was of the correct texture & well presented. She is good for size & has enough bone & substance. I found her to be long in loin  for the ideal but her movement was ok.
P/GB.[4,1abs].1.Godridges o/s ISILME DAZZLE ME. And she did with her abundant harsh coat which was beautifully presented & in great condition. Typical head & expression with the darkest pigment. Ears a tad large but set on high. She is very well boned  & has moderate angles with a straight front, deep brisket & neat feet which were well padded. Her movement was spot on. 2.Moxons l/p CHILITE CONCHINA  AT THIRLDENE. She has a well balanced head although not as spitzy in outlook as above. She has the sweetest expression with dark eyes & sharp pointed ears which she used non stop. Her pretty coat was in full bloom& well presented. She had plenty of bone for her size had a high set  & carried tail & held her topline on the move which was good. 3.Pallets. CHILITE INDIAN SUMMER.
L/B.[4].1.Andrews CLARAN COURT OF DREAMS.Beautifully presented cream in harsh coat & top condition. Really sweet spitzy head & typical outlook. Spot on for size. Good bone & substance, moderate angulation with well laid shoulders, firm topline & high set tail carried over her back. Short hocks, well padded small neat cat like feet & strong flexible pasterns. Movement spot on. RCC. 2.Rogersons black NOSREGOR GIRL ALMIGHTY. Beautiful spitzy head & expression with small high set triangular ears almost flat scull, correct stop & deep set oval eyes with the darkest pigment. She has all the right angles & her size is good. She was in goodbloom & very well presented. Her movement was spot on. 3.Baylis.KYSIENA WHISPERING WIND AT KARMAJEN. Super class.
O/B.[4,2abs].1.Bradburys black CH.WYCHLEA PURPLE IMAGE. Perfectly balanced & feminine example of the breed. Real sharp spitzy head with correctly set ears. Her eyes are very darkly pigmented ovals & are set deep giving more of a almond shape. She has a sweet expression. She is moderately angled but at the same time elegant in shape & has good bone, straight front, deep brisket & small neat well padded cat feet. Her neck is slightly longer than those above hence the referral to elegance. She has a good layback of shoulders & firm topline leading to a high set tail moderate stifles & short hocks. Movement spot on. A well deserved champion. 2.Trendles c/s LUSAM TOODLE PIP Sh.CM.Pretty spitzy head but ears a tad large. Correctly placed stop & oval shaped eyes which were dark & expressive. She has a good wedge shaped head with filled foreface & tight lip line. Her dentition is amazing, super clean & a good bite. She was in good coat which as well presented, well muscled up, has neat feet & moved with ease.
CH/B.[3]1. Pearce & Francis CH.LONGSDALES DILEMA. Her jet black coat was abundant with every hair in place. She has that so typical spitzy outlook with small triangular high set ears, almost flat scull, correct stop & deep set dark eyes. Her foreface is well filled & her lipline is tight. She has a good bite. Her neck is a touch more than moderate, giving more of an elegant outline. She has well laid shoulders & a firm topline with a fully plumed high set tail. Good in brisket, straight front, well off for bone for her size & the neatest of small well padded & cat like feet with flexible pasterns. Her movement was brisk & effortless. What is the dilemma I ask myself? CC.BOB.RBIS. 2.Rogersons CH.NOSREGOR LIES’N DECEET. No denying the quality here. Super jet black harsh textured coat which was presented to perfection. Typical example of a spitzy head & expression. She has good bone, straight front & was well developed in brisket. Her shoulders are well laid back & her topline is firm. Her high set tail with its full plumage was carried over her back & her moderately angled stifles & short hocks enabled good brisk movement. She is just a tad stronger all through than above but a well deserved champion. 3. Trendles CH.LUSAM PARTI POPPER Sh.CM.

German Spitz Club of GB Championship Show 4/11/18.

Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to be a replacement referee at the GSCGB Championship show. As German Spitz have now been declared a sub group, a BIS judge now has to be appointed and this is what the KC had approved me as, much to my surprise. It did cause some discussion on the day. It was an honour to judge BIS. I also enjoyed judging the handling classes immensely, some promising youngsters in the ring. I also enjoyed judging the puppy parade; they coped with the experience impeccably.

Many thanks to the Klein and Mittel judges for sending through such quality exhibits, it was an honour to judge them all.

BIS Hewett’s Spellcast Talk Tidee. Mittel. A well balanced, well angulated, strong male in his prime. He has an exquisite head piece, broad skull with good width to muzzle, expressive oval eye and neat ears. He was on top form today and on the move he showed himself off to advantage with a steady, ground covering action. Delighted to award him BIS.

RBIS Pearce & Francis’ Ch. Longsdale’s Dilemma. Klein. A beautiful bitch, presented to perfection. She presents a lovely outline, just shorter than square. Well-muscled up. Straight, well boned front, neat cat like feet. Well angulated rear. She moved with a steady gait. In full coat, so well-groomed and a high set tail finished off the picture.

BPIS  Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale Heat Of The Moment. 9 month old dark brown Klein dog. I particularly liked his head with good proportion of muzzle to skull. Mature in body for his age, well ribbed up. Excellent angulations front and rear. He moved well in profile, with required extension and drive. A promising future lies ahead I’m sure. RBPIS Bennett’s Melitabe Super Trouper. 10 month old brown Mittel dog that is developing nicely. Excellent body proportions, short in back with a good length of leg. Lovely head and expression. In harsh coat. Not as settled on the move as the Klein puppy.

BVIS Smith’s Ch. Spellcast Jivetalking. Mittel. Still on top form and finished in a sparkling black harsh coat. He has such a well-balanced outline. Quality head piece with a dark expressive eye and neat ears. This well-muscled boy did not put a foot wrong, I could not deny him BVIS.  RBVIS King’s Druitz Cariad Back of Grizwold ShCM. Mittel. A well put together orange bitch that is so sound on the move, covering the ground with verve. Lovely head and expression. She was pushed hard by the Klein veteran winner but her overall compact shape just gave her the edge.

Junior Handling Assoc. 6-11 years. (1,1a) 1. Mia Rose Rogerson. 8 years old. Coped well with her mischievous charge. Mia was an attentive handler, presented neat corners. Persisted to get her dog’s full attention, and when she did they showed well as a team. Handled her dog sensitively. It is clear that she has a passion for showing, she has a promising future ahead.

Junior Handling Assoc. 12-16 years. (1) 1. Isabel Woodhouse, age 14. A very sympathetic handler, she talked to her dog throughout the class encouraging her charge to perform well. Excellent shadowing, performed a T shape with straight lines and neat corners, with neat lead handover. She kept her eye on the judge at all times. Best overall junior handler.

Adult handling 17- 50 years. (2) 1. Karoline Andrew. Very attentive to her dog and to the judge at all times. Excellent shadowing, even when the dog was on the table. Neat corners, moved her dog at the correct pace. Very sympathetic handling of her dog to get the best out of her charge. 2. Sarah Wells. Interacted with her dog well. Moved steadily with neat corners. Quite attentive to the judge, not as exact with shadowing as 1.

Adult Handling 51+ years. (1) 1. Patricia Rogerson. An excellent role model. Excellent shadowing, attention to detail with a dog that wasn’t easy to shadow with. Moved steadily, encouraging her dog at all times. Very consistent handing.

Niki Allison, Judge.
