CRUFTS - 2020
GERMAN SPITZ - KLEIN
I would like to thank my most efficient stewards and all exhibitors for making my day such an enjoyable one. I first judged this breed at a club match in 1992 and to retire, with this my last appointment,at Crufts, was a great honour. A good entry awaited me and it was a most pleasing one to go over, with my principal winners showing their qualities off so well. I noted some examples of upright shoulders, with short stepping and a few with too much length of loin, which affected both movement and balance.
VD (4) 1. Jackson & Minshall’s Ch Holbain Just Bill. BV. Most pleasing in outline and presentation and scored in head, dentition, neck, topline and coat. Moved out so well both ways and on the round, a credit to his owners. 2. Wrights Ch Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy. Imp. 12 years young with good head, just enough bone and nice for size and shape. Short coupled and once settled moved out quite well, showing a level topline with a good side gait. 3. Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdales Willie Win. JW.
PD. (1) 1. Rogerson’s Nosregor Willie Surprise.YA. Black showing much promise and is still growing into himself. Good head and dentition, with ears, neck, topline and tailset plus points. Moved out quite well, though a little loose in front. Unfortunate that I did not see him in the BP challenge. JD. (3,2) 1. Wenman’s Rendal Blond Charmer iz Knyaginino. Head proportions, bite, eyes and ears scored well and was.shown in good coat. Pushed the measure somewhat, but held a good topline and moved out well going away.
PGD. (5,1) 1. Beck’s Nardik Wizard. Took time to settle but has plenty of bone and coat with a pleasing head, good bite and has well shaped and carried ears. Would have preferred a more correct eye shape, but held a level topline and moved out quite well both ways. 2. Moores’ Pommary Mark my Word. Not the substance and bone of 1, but well balanced, with a nice head shape, good dentition and neat ears and feet. Steady mover once settled. 3. Gepp, Cox& Cox. Manzamas Pearl Diver at Bemojo. IMP Swe.
LD (9,3) 1 . Rogerson’s Nosregor Willhe Doo. Pleasing cream, nice for size and well presented with good head proportions, correct eye, neat ears and well set tail. Moved out quite well going away holding a level topline. 2. Jackson & Minshall’s Perrymere Just Bertie. JW. Close up to 1, another cream who pleased in eye, neck, ears and bone. Head balance was affected somewhat by a stop that is a little too defined. Steady mover going away. 3. Highmoors Musique Rave On.
OD. (13,2) 1. Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdales Blame it on Me. DCC. Quality dogs in this class and my CC winner exemplified it. He has a first class head with a good wedge, well set and carried ears, plenty of bone, just enough neck and is compact and balanced all through. Sound as a bell and moves out so well both ways. 2. Moir’s Jansanleis Loud n Proud. RDCC. Close up, nice for size and shape with head proportions, eye ears and neck all plus points. Balanced, compact and held a lovely topline. Moved well coming on, just preferred hind movement of 1 today, but another quality dog. 3. Chambers Musique Quilo.
GCD. (1) 1. Spences Stormhaven Sandpiper with Spencerian. ShCM. VW. Well presented cream who pleased in head, ears and neck. Compact with a level topline. Steady mover going away.
VB. (2,1) 1. Hill’s Int Ch/Ger Ch Edburton Llyngoes at Cyfelin. 14yrs young, compact and showing herself off so well. Head, eye, ears and topline were plus points and moved out well whilst enjoying herself to the full. A credit to her owner.
PB. (1) 1. Highmoor’s Printzagems Zanthi. BP. Promising black with much maturing to do. She has a well shaped head, lovely expression and pleased in eye, ears and neck. A little phased at first but once settled held a good topline and moved out quite well both ways.
JB. (3,1) 1. Shepherd & Hill’s Cyfelin Catch a Falling Star for Fecimus. Nice for size and shape, good wedged head, neat ears and scored in neck and topline. Showed herself off well on the stand and in profile and moved out well both ways. 2. Garwood’s Buffmyster Sunday Best. Feminine Black who took time to settle but has a well shaped head, good bite and pleased in eye and ears. Somewhat erratic on the move.
PGB. (5) 1. Slack’s Fecimus One of Us. All of a piece with a well shaped eye, neat ears and plenty of bone. Stop perhaps a little too defined, but topline, coat and tailset were plus points. Steady mover both ways. 2. Godridge’s Isilme Lusam Legacy. Nice for size and pushed 1 hard. Pleased in head properties but would have preferred a more correctly shaped eye. Ears, neck and topline were plus points and moved out quite well going away. 3. Brays. Pommary Zara.
LB. (11,3) Godridge’s Isilme Dazzle Me. 1. Showy, compact and balanced, this was a well presented exhibit who scored in head, bone, eye, ears and neck. Held a level topline and moved well both ways. Had a good look at her in the challenge. 2. Ferry’s Longsdales Little Bird with Ferrybelle. Well made, nice for size, good wedge shaped head, pleasing expression and neat ears. Just enough neck, with topline and tailset plus points. Moved out quite well coming on. 3. Shepherds. Fecimus the Good Fairy.
OB. (14,1) 1. Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdales Dilemma. BCC. BOB. This lady presented no Dilemma to me. She has quality and balance all through with a classic wedge shaped head and is correct in eye and ear. She is blessed with good substance and bone, just enough neck, with topline and tailset all plus points. Out moved everything today, both ways, with an excellent side gait. So pleased to see her pulled out in the group. 2. Grayers. Radajasas Nancy Wake at Delgrays. RBCC.
Pleasing feminine white, compact, well made and presented in good coat and condition. She has a well shaped head and scores in eye and expression and has plenty of bone. Topline and tailset were shown off to good advantage in side gait whilst moving out well both ways.
GCB. (1) 1. Spence. Seirian Stargazer with Spencerian. Unsettled at first but then decided to enjoy herself. Head shape, bite, ears and topline scored well. Steady mover after settling.
