Critique
PD. (6). 1. Bradbury’s, Wychlea the Buzz Word. The start of a super day for this exhibitor. This is a charming chocolate of lovely size and with a well shaped head. He has really oval shaped eyes and the neatest of ears. Perhaps a trifle long in loin for me, but well ribbed, little neck and with a firm level backline. He was in good coat and drive himself so well round the ring. Just needs to settle in front. 2. Kirkby and Ventura’s, Terendak Bumbleberry. Lots to like about this cream youngster. At present he has not the body development of the winner but I liked his head balance and he has the sweetest of expression. Quite compact in body, ribs could be more rounded. Moderately angulated hindquarters and in superb bloom. Like the winner his profile action does command attention as he drives round the ring. 3. Morgen’s, Ebdurton Freddy Fox.
JD. (3). 1. W the Buzz Word. 2. Dickinson and Taylor and Ventura’s, Terendak Bubble Baileys. Very masculine headed cream whose head I thought was delightful, enhanced by such well set and shaped eyes and neat ears to give such a good expression. Fairly square shaped he lacked a little in forechest at present so his front action was less positive than the winners. In lovely coat his presentation was first class. I felt he didn’t have the brisk. Positive stride of Buzz and I would like him to carry his tail a little tighter. 3. Kirby’s, Terebdak Tinker-Tailor.
PGD. (3). 1. Macpherson’s, Kismets Lord of the Dance. A really glamorous little particolour which should win admirers for the breed. Bright eyed and bushy tailed he is so compact in body with a pleasing head with ample skull width and a winning expression. Little neck, enough spring and depth of rib and he has a decent length of leg. In really good coat he moves quite purposfully round the ring and he complimented the line up for CC so well. 2. Hunter’s, Rossfort Aulese. This red sable is just that smidgeon strong in skull for me and I would like him to carry his tail higher. He is so well put together in construction with excellent ribbing, short loin and very good legs and feet. His coat is a good harsh texture. 3. Freddy Fox.
LD. (3). 1. Serman’s, Roydenzone Cortese among Tymy. This black and white is most appealing. Undeniably male headpiece which has good skull breadth. A clear stop and the neatest of well filled forefaces. Dark and well shaped eyes coupled ears could be a little higher set for me and would add to his expression. Nicely ribbed with a high set and well carried tail. In wonderful coat, he was immaculate in presentation and circling the ring with real good hock use. 2. Pardon’s, Limburger City Slicker Mit Dunbrook. White and black that is so similar in size and proportions to the winner. I actually preferred his expression to the first as his ears are higher set and he has the most delightful eye placement. He too was in stunning coat condition and shows so very well. Side on his action is good but coming towards me he was toeing in which edged the red card away from him. 3. Harrop’s, Grovelyn Cream Tease.
OD. (7). 1. Bradbury’s, Wychlea Dayzhar Vooh. CC and BOB. A black in full coat and in top form. Never put a foot wrong. Lovely for size, quite compact in body, lovely all male head with a good breadth in skull, excellent stop and his ears are so well placed and used non stop. Little neck, high set tail and the firmest of hocks. Sound both ways and so balanced and busy striding as he moves round the ring. Delighted to learn this win gives him his crown. As a bonus he was short listed in the Group. Well done. 2. Wright’s, Orion Mirror Immage. RCC. Another lovely example of the breed. This time a cream and again in excellent bloom and the consummate showman. I loved his head, eyes and expression and he probably just had the edge there with his so dark eyes. Beautifully pigmented he is a lovely size, firm, short coupled body with ample spring of ribs. Stands foursquare with his tail bang on top and moves round the ring with such style and aplomb. In the run off the tighter front action swung the scales Vooh’s way. I believe this fellow has recently been deservedly crowned. 3. Serman’s, Karstein Ohra Bearer among Tymy.
PB. (4). 1. Chamber’s, Lusam Cream Cracker for Musique. BP. Probably a little over 9 inches at the withers this is a personality plus job. Amazing to see so much self-belief in such a small package. She is within the standard size though I would hope she grows on that little bit more. She has style, shape, a beautiful headpiece with the sweetest of expressions and a bombproof temperament. Moved round the ring with tremendous verve for such a small package and is totally sound. 2. Dickinson and Taylor and Ventura’s, Terendak Creme Brulee. What a delightful bitch this is almost every way. Super headpiece for shape and proportions, nice eyes and ears, quite compact in body and she was in very good coat. Disappointed a bit moving where she moved truly enough but her stride seemed to lack that lightness which I think the breed should have. If things go right she will gain her title. 3. Trendle’s, Lusam Super Spats.
JB. (4). 1. Parden’s, Dunbrook Abracadabra. A nice compactly made black in lovely coat and bloom. Pleaing headpiece with very well placed eyes and ears could be smaller to advantage but she has little neck and is amply ribbed. Carried her tail less tightly than I would like but she does cover the ground so well when moving. 2. Rogerson’s, Nosregor Blue Wolfe. Shaded sable out of a bigger mould than the winner. Well boned, very tight feet and so well presented and handled. I liked her skull, the defined stop and well shaped eyes. Shade more neck than the first and whilst she is well ribbed and with a super front, she is that fraction longer in loin and as a consequence not quite so squarely proportioned.
PGB. (3). 1. Trendle’s, Lusam Beattle Romanz. I though this compactly made black to have lots of breed type and promise. Delightful in head, eyes and expression with a really good muzzle. Lacks body and coat density at present but she is level backed with strong hindquarters and a really good tail set and carriage. When she fills out and coats up should do well. 2. Banfield’s, Atroya Winter Surprise. This sable was another not in full coat though was carrying more weight over her ribcage. I liked her head balance, sweet eye and expression. Another whose ears, for me, could be smaller and high set. She is well ribbed, short in loin and tries to please her handler. Not quite so positive in hind action as first. 3. Kettle-White’s, Kempsona Candy Calypso.
LB. (7). 1. Morgen’s, Edhburton Fox Trot. I felt this deep cream scored in having the best expression in the class. Her head handled well, the skull amply broad, the stop so clean and her eyes sparkle. Quite compact in body, really good ribbing and short in loin. She was in lovely coat. It was so well prepared and she had that glad to be here look. Side on she presents a pleasing picture as she motors round the ring. 2. Andrew’s, Claran Molly Mole. This shaded was disadvantaged by not being in the full coat of the winner. She is nicely constructed, is fairly compact and has such a good front and sound front action. Her tail is high set and well carried and her headpiece is so good though she is another whose ears I would like to be that size smaller. 3. Serman’s, Roydenzone Chianti among Tymy.
OB. (4). 1. Bradbury’s, Wychlea Scarlet Ribbons. A lovely headed chocolate which just looked the part and moved with that brisk, free sound style, oozing in confidence and looking like she intended getting somewhere fast. Lovely size and so compact with a really good front and ribcage. Well boned, excellent feet and to crown it all a high set tail carried right over the back. Never gave up showing. Pleased to hear she too has gained her title on the days win. CC. 2. Dickinson and Taylor and Ventura’s, Bubble and Squeek at Terendak. RCC. An almost 8 and a half years old Ch. black which has been a long time favourite of mine. I have given her a CC before and placed her in the Group and still think she is a wonderful example of the breed. Her body and coat condition is hugely impressive and must be the envy of many. Just beginning to show her age in the greying muzzle and of course her expression is not longer as keen as her halcyon days. Bowed the knee to youth for top award but still had enough armoury to ward off the rest of the young pretenders. 3. Carr’s, Ch. Kimbacrests Drama Queen.
