Critique
It was just great being back out at a dog show and our thanks must go to the hardworking Blackpool Committee for such a well set out and run show. There was a bit of a holiday atmosphere at the show and everyone seemed to be having a good time. As this was one of the first Ch Shows, perhaps the entry was not that representative of the breed in general. It was disappointing to find so many Pom heads and lack of type, however, I was very well pleased with my major winners.
YD (1) 1 Barnes & Wheaton’s Galvizach Mandala At Daraydala TAF. Well made youngster with a good front, nice length of upper arm, solid bone and neat feet, very handsome head, probably up to size, but with a good outline, firm rear, and is a very stylish and sound mover, in full coat.
PGD (3) 1 Moore’s Pommary Mark My Word. Good size, in full coat, lovely shaded gold. Balanced skull and muzzle. Well set tail and sound rear, stylish mover. 2 Beck’s Nardik Wizzard. Particolour with a lovely handsome head, good balanced skull and muzzle and lovely shaped eye with good expression, deep rib and stylish mover. 3 Leadbetter’s Pommary It’s My Turn.
LD (3) 1 Bradbury’s Wychlea Percy Vehere. Black with a super head, eye and ear, nicely boned, level topline, well shaped rib, and is super sound. 2 Leadbetter’s Pommary It’s My Turn. Good type, with a attractive head, nicely placed front without excessive lift, and a very sound well made rear. 3 Moore’s Pommary Let Rumour Begin.
OD (6) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Ir Ch Longsdales Cool Rider. DCC and BOB. Very handsome black in full coat, right for size, flat skull and super ears, correct stop, lovely expression. He is correct in shoulder, upper arm, topline and tail set. So sound and stylish, nicely square and eyecatching with lots of presence. 2 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdale’s Blame It On Me. White with a good body, topline and tail set, in full coat, very stylish, but for me just not so finished in head as winner and just not so square, however, he is a lovely masculine boy with good breed type. 3 Rogerson’s Nosregor Willhe Surprise Ya.
VD (2, 1) 1 Serman’s Ch Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy. Res CC. 10 year old black and white, so very handsome. Beautiful balanced head, skull and muzzle, neat well placed ears, good eye shape and colour, super correct angulation. Level topline and good bone, well set tail and overall square, lovely firm rear and very sound both ways, he is a really lovely dog in full coat, with great breed type, still naughty, and with great presence. PB (2, 1) 1 Rogerson’s Nosregor Sister Sledge. BPIB. Cream, with a very pretty head, dead right for size with
a lovely top line and tail. Good eye shape and colour, good neck, only 12 months and has much promise. She has a good strong rear and is sound.
LB (1) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Claran Stepnout With Longsdale. BCC. Cream with such a feminine head of good balance between skull and muzzle. Well shaped eye, lovely colour and expression. Neat well placed ears, really well made in front with correct topline, tail set and rib shape. Sound both in front and rear, no excessive lift in front, really lovely outline, she is such a eyeful and with such good breed type.
OB (7) 1 Mellor’s Nirvarna Sunset At Bellapip. Res CC, black and white in full coat, very sound, with a well shaped head, good eye and expression, correct in topline and rib, very strong and sound rear, lovely bitch. 2 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdale’s Dilemma. Compact with a very attractive head, flat skull, well placed ears, well made in front with good length of upper arm, strong lengthy rib, correct tail set and she
is very sound both ways. 3 Bradbury & Serman’s Oberitz Topsy Turvy For Wychlea.
VB (1) 1 Beck’s Holbain Honey Bunny. Gold and white with a nicely shaped head, well placed ears and lovely eye and expression. Good neck and top line, well angulated in front and rear, in full coat and she just looked a picture.
