Bournemouth Championship Show 2023
German Spitz (Klein)
PD (1,0)
1. Foster’s Claran Court your Eye. 11 mth old cream who was somewhat erractic at times and therefore difficult to fully assess. He pleased for size and overall outline with neck of correct length to balance, level topline, ribbed well back but still to fully develop and curled tail set on high. Attractive head and expression with good breadth to skull, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears good for size and set and correct dentition. Stands a tad untidy in front but from what I could tell this doesn’t reflect particularly when coming at you. Goes well on the go around and true when going away. Good quality coat. Best Puppy.
OD (2,0)
1. Grayer’s Ch Radajasa's Henri Fiocca at Delgray. Two quite different dogs challenged here with my winner being this 3 yr old white. Presented in such good order, this boy is so good in outline with correct length of neck, firm level topline, excellent ribbing, short muscular loin and curled tail set on nice and high. Attractive head with good breadth of skull, lovely dark eye, super ears and correct dentition but would just have liked to see a tad more length to muzzle. Well made all through and stands foot perfect in front and has excellent feet. Moving true both fore and aft and using himself fully at all times. First class coat and so very well handled. For me he was a standout in today’s entry. CC & BOB.
2. Davies, Peck & Bradbury’s Wychlea Percy Vehere. 4 yr old black who has so much to like and he too presented a super outline with correct length of neck, level topline, short muscular loin and tail set on high. Masculine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, clean cheeks, excellent ears and good dentition. His eyes are correct for shape but I would have preferred them darker to enhance expression. Soundly constructed and stands nice and straight in front on good feet. Moving briskly with good carriage. Good quality coat. RCC.
VD (1,0)
1.Trendle’s Lusam Cheeky Boy. 9 yr old cream who presented a pleasing outline with neck of correct length to balance, level back, good length to ribcage with well rounded ribs, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Pleasing head with nice broad skull, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear, straight forelegs and good forechest. Moving true on the down and back and going well enough on the go around albeit a tad slower. Good quality coat. A little over the measure but was my Best Veteran today.
SBD/B (2,0)
1. Tier’s Karmenhoek Made In Moonbeam, Two very different bitches competed against each other here with my winner being this 17 mth old black/tan. She could be more compact in outline but she won here on overall type. Balanced headpiece with good breadth to skull, oval-shaped eyes of good colour, small ears set on rather high, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and she moved freely all through. Forechest still to develop but she has time on her side. Best Special Beginner.
2. Saunders’ Delgray's Bootylicious at Brookwell. 2 yr old white at the bottom end of the standard height-wise and although shown in superb coat and condition, for me she was a little too ‘Pommy’, hence my placing. Ultra-compact with rather short neck, firm topline and curled tail set on high. Feminine head and expression but skull a little rounder, very nice eye and ear and good dentition. Moving out briskly and with attitude. Very well handled.
PGB (1,0)
1. Foster’s Bemojo Pearls of Honey. Approaching 2 yrs, this cream presented a pretty good outline with neck of correct length to balance, level topline and curled tail set on nice and high. Feminine headpiece with good proportions but I would like to see a little less stop, eyes good for both shape and colour, ears of correct set and good dentition. Ribcage extends well back would like to see better rib development for her age. Moving very well when going away and ok on the go around.
OB (4,2)
1. Ferry’s Ch Longsdale's Little Bird with Ferrybelle. 6 yr old cream sable who was good to go over and presented a pleasing outline with correct length of neck, short level back, well rounded ribs which are carried well back, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head with good breadth to skull, oval-shaped eyes of good colour, ears set on well, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear and stands straight in front on cat-like feet. Showy girl who moved true both fore and aft and strode out in typical brisk fashion. CC.
2. Grayer’s Radajasa's Nancy Wake at Delgray. 5 yr old white who has so much to like. Well balanced with neck of correct length, nice short back, excellent ribbing, short in the couplings and curled tail set on well. Feminine headpiece, dark eyes but could be less prominent, small ears which are set on rather high and clean cheeks. She stands well naturally on good feet and moved well on the go around but overall just preferred action of winner. Good quality coat and presentation. RCC.
VB (1,0)
1. Trendle’s Lusam Toodle Pip ShCM. 12 yr old wolf sable who presented a lovely compact outline with good neck, firm level topline, excellent ribbing, short loin and curled tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears set on rather high and correct bite. She stands true in front and has correct feet. Moving very well considering her years but her kennelmate just went that bit better and pipped her at the post for Best Veteran. Good quality coat.
