Breed Open Show – 01 April 2024 – Judges Report
German Spitz Klein
Due to lockdown this appointment was long awaited and so enjoyable when it came to fruition. I had some lovely dogs to adjudicate. I congratulate the exhibitors for the sporting manner they accepted their placements and the way in which they congratulated the winners. My co-judge Ms L Barnes and I where unanimous in our decisions and therefore, apologies to the referee!
Thanks to my wonderful Stewards, Debra Roberts and Clare Andrews.
Baby Puppy D/B 1
1. Hickson’s Claran Court of Delights At Kichigai. 5 months and a real heart throb! Very pretty and feminine with a most attractive head and expression. Dark, sparkling eyes, good mouth and dentition. Not a big puppy but she is well ribbed with a good topline and tail set. She moves with accuracy and style and stands attentive, like a statue, portraying the message of ‘look at me’. I did and thought her delightful. Best Baby Puppy In show.
Veteran Dog 4,2
1. Jackson and Minshall’s Ch Holbain Just Like Bill JW. Amazing 12 year old in superb condition. Beautiful wedge-shaped head with correct bite, oval shaped eyes and small neat ears. Clean front, short compact body with high set tail, correct coat texture. Moved well coming and going. When standing exemplifies breed type.
2. Trendle’s Lusam Cheeky Boy. 10 years. Large boy in superb condition for age. Balanced head, appealing eyes. Presented in super coat and condition. High set tail, carried well. Sound mover.
Puppy Dog 2
1. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Little Thug. 10 months and lots to like. Balanced, appealing head; well set ears, dark well shaped eyes, good pigment, well-shaped muzzle and correct dentition. He has enough neck leading to well placed shoulders. Tidy front with good feet, secure top line and a good tail set, well angulated rear. Movement a tad careless in the challenge for BPIS. BPIB & Reserve BPIS.
2. Huntley’s Fecimus Brother Bear at Puidelup. Brown. 10 months and another nice puppy. Head developing well and contains correct bite. Good for eye shape and colour. Ears well set. Good pigmentation. Coat was well presented and of correct texture. Short compact body, and high set tail. Just lost out on forehand reach.
Junior Dog 2
1. Pearce, Francis and William’s Longsdale’s Dance With Me (TAF). 12 months. Ideal size. Glorious head with appealing oval shaped eyes, small neat ears. Well-constructed body. Coat was of correct texture. High set tail. Moved well both coming going. A promising future awaits.
2. Huntley’s Fecimus Brother Bear at Puidelup.
Post Graduate Dog 2
Litter brothers and decidedly different.
1. Andrew’s Claran Court Your Breath. 18 months. An eye catching young dog who captured my immediate attention. Balanced head with correct bite, dark expressive oval shaped eyes, black pigmentation and small, neat ears all portraying a glorious expression. Super mouth. When standing his outline is so well balanced and square. Attentive to his handler at all times aids the portrayal. Coat was of correct texture and with high set tail. Moved well coming and going. When moving in profile he maintained his impressive shape. Most definitely Champion quality. BD BOB and BIS
2. Foster’s Claran Court Your Eye. Smaller in statue than his brother. Appealing head of good proportions. Super dark eyes and finish to muzzle. Not quite the ribbing or substance. Moved accurately when settled. In good coat and condition. Alert and happy character.
Limit Dog 1
1. Dyer’s Longsdale Knightshade At Javarm. 4 years Black. Wedged shaped with a flat skull, correct bite. Dark oval shaped eyes giving a super expression. Neat well-set ears. Balanced in bone. Clean front. Short compact body and high set tail. Coat needs attention. Moved well coming and going.
Open Dog 6,1
1. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Ch Blame It On Me. 5 years. Pleasing outline of correct proportions; good bone and substance. Balanced masculine head, correct dark eyes aiding super expression. Good for neck; well-made mature body. Neat front angulations; secure backline. Neat feet. Moved with style which gave the edge over 2. Best Bitch & Reserve BOB.
2. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Luv Me More. Appealing masculine head containing expressive oval shaped eyes. Decent ears. Straight front with catlike feet, short compact body with high set tail, well coated of correct texture. Moved well coming and going.
3. Chambers and Gepp-Cox’s Ch Bemojo Pearls Of Wisdom At Misique. Another lovely dog completing a trio of quality males. Balanced in outline. Head giving a lovely expression. Compact body, well ribbed. Secure top-line and well set tail. Just a tad wide coming towards me. Presented in super condition.
Veteran Bitch 4
1. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Ch Dilemma. Have judged her before and once again, equally impressive. Now 9 years old. Presents a most attractive profile picture as she is so well balanced with adequate length of leg, super coat and she shows to best advantage. Head with intelligent, attractive expression, gorgeous eyes and well set ears. Sturdy, well ribbed, short coupled body. Moved soundly with an easy, effortless action. In super condition. Reserve BOB, BVIB and Best Veteran In show.
2. Serman’s Wychlea Lady In The Mirror. 11 ½ years and presented in superb condition. Coat of good texture. Intelligent alert expression. Very good pigment. Good mouth and teeth for age. Well ribbed up with good tailset and carriage. A very happy character!
3. Trendle’s Lusam Toodle Pip ShCM
Puppy Bitch 1
1. Allison & Chambers Barbarita Best Beast (Imp LVA). Black. 9 months and very promising. Exquisite head. Produces a lovely balanced profile when standing. Well ribbed. High set tail, well set. Front movement to settle a tad. Lovely coat texture and beautifully presented. BPB.
Junior Bitch 1
1. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Sweet Nothin’s. Just out of puppy, well grown for age. Black coat of excellent texture. Loved her head for balance and expression. She presents a balanced outline. Clean moderate neck. Short in loin with good ribbing. Good feet and pasterns. Moved accurately and with conviction. RBB
Post Graduate Bitch 4,2
1. Foster’s Bemojo Pearls of Honey. 2 years. Coat of lovely colour and texture. Pleasing head, correct for eyes and ears, with good pigment. Moderate neck and correct lay of shoulders. Would prefer a tad more substance throughout. Moved very well indeed.
2. Bray’s Pommary Goodnight Sweetheart 4 years. Black well textured coat. Head containing lovely eyes and correct finish. Wished she would use her ears to complete the headpiece. Well bodied. Square in profile. Move steadily.
Limit 1
1. Bray’s Pommary Zara. 6 years. Produces a lovely shape when standing, despite being out of coat. Balanced wedge-shaped head with correct bite, very appealing oval shaped eyes. Well set ears. Coat of correct texture. Good feet. Moved well coming and going.
Open 2,1
1. Pearce and Francis’s Longsdale’s Ch Remember Me. I thought her quite lovely. Head portrays such a beautiful expression having excellent depth of pigment, and super eyes. Good angulations, correct bone and substance; neat feet. Square and balanced throughout. Excellent coat and condition. Simply screams breed type. Great mover.
