GERMAN SPITZ - KLEIN

My first time giving CCs in this amazing breed and I was a tad disappointed with the entry when I saw the numbers on paper. I had 2 worries; firstly, that the exhibitors wouldn't turn up and secondly that the quality would not have been good enough to merit a CC. I needn't have worried on either counts as I had a full house (4) plus the dogs entered were lovely and, although 2 different types, still super examples of the breed, so the major awards could not be denied. My thanks to all those who attended the show, having driven for several hours for my opinion.
OD (2). 1. Pearce's & Francis' Biggi Best Beast With Longsdale (IMP LAV)  What a cracker this young male is, so full of charisma and ring presence too. His broad, flat skull is very masculine; he has sufficient stop and head proportions overall are excellent. He has beautiful almond-shaped eyes, giving such a friendly expression. His pigmentation throughout is correct for his colouring; neck is of good length and his angulation fore and aft is good. Topline is level and he holds it on the move. Coat of good texture. Tail set and carriage are textbook. A joy to watch him move in all directions. Well-presented and handled. He is the full package! I loved him. CC. BOB. (Delighted to see he was short-listed in the group to the final 6).
2. Francis', Pearce's, Williams', Davies' & Master's Longsdale's Dance With Me Trebettyn JW  Another cracking boy with many of the breed positive points of the class winner. He is of a different type to my first place but a super dog none the less. He has a pleasant expression; shoulder placement is good, top line is level; he has enough muscle throughout. Absolutely brilliant on the move, no effort at all. RES CC.

OB (2). As with my open dog class, 2 different types in this class. 1. Hickson's Ch Claran Court Of Delights At Kichigai  Truly delightful, 2.5-year-old, feminine bitch; it would be impossible to mistake her for a male under any circumstances, although I would like her head to be a tiny bit more breed typical. She is a joy to go over; well-constructed and of good proportions; her topline is good and she carries it well on the move. Her movement is faultless and would take some beating. Delighted to award her the bitch CC.
2. Pearce & Francis' Ch. Longsdale's Remember Me.  I actually prefer the head of this 4-year-old bitch to my class winner, but her movement was not as free flowing as I would like. Her head is gorgeous with good proportions; lovely small ears, well set and carried; her mouth is as required for the breed. Her front could do with being a tiny bit stronger and occasionally she stood a little down on her pasterns. Her topline is good and her back has enough strength. A good honest bitch with so much to like about her. RES CC.
