Critique
The general notes on Kleins apply even more to Mittels. While the temperament of the dogs and bitches withstood the noise of the public address system, I got the impression that the Mittels were a trifle tired of the atmosphere and also more bothered by the application of the measure. The tendency to elbow out coming towards me was more obvious and some hindquarters lacked muscle as if exercise was not as regular as it might be.
DOGS: Sp P (5) 1 Beard’s Wyndlee Oldcharm Ring Eugen. A good ’un to start with because he’s sound on the move; he has neat tidy teeth, correct ears, held his topline and his tail on the move. 2 Roberts’ Nosregor Black Blade At Veratina. Good head and ears, reasonable topline, correct feet, hope he grows on a bit. 3 Orchard’s Runfold Bolt From The Blue. V charming d which was obviously enjoying his day in the limelight, slightly large ears, good expression, moved with gay abandon, but I imagine he is a joy to live with, and one day will grow up.
Sp J (5) 1 Williams’ Druitz Benedict Arnold. A quite delightful d with an expression which suggested he was a happy lad having a day out, beautifully put together all round, with a most charming head and expression. Correct coat with a well carried tail, well balanced neck and shoulder, moved well. 2 Hunter’s Rossford Banjaxed. Cream, neat as ninepence, super coat, nice mover, well proportioned, delightful expression. 3 Blight’s Rosechow Cappachino. Yet another excellent youngster with all the attributes of a good Mittel. made an excellent trio.
PG (10) 1 Day’s Loki‘s Gold Ingot. Compact, beautiful head and eyes, well proportioned all round with a lovely style of going, knew exactly what he was doing and pleased the eye from the start. 2 Looker’s Dramidas The Party’s On With Umshumbwe. Another happy chap with the most cheerful expression, lovely mover who kept his tail in the right position and standing or moving looked a picture. 3 Williams’ Druitz Brother Dominic. Thoroughly correct expression of eye, good head and neck, moved well as if life was worth living.
L (10) 1 McBain’s Willmac Rockafella. A very nice black and white dog, moved at speed by a handler whose shoes were as well polished as his dog, thoroughly pleasing dog which looked exactly as a Spitz is meant to look with prick ears, a good head and neck into sound shoulders, a well held tail and a smart movement, deserved his Res CC. 2 Connor’s Galzivach The Chimney Sweep. Black, very compact, beautifully carried tail, super topline, good head and expression, moved correctly. 3 O’Loughlin’s Claran Earthworm Jim Under Caoilta. There just has to be a story behind a name like that! Nice type with somewhat large ears, but otherwise a standard-fitting dog, making a worthy trio.
O (10) 1 Powell’s Ch Kuseleys Kute Kevin. Another of these Keeshond lookalikes, built on proper lines with a good head and expression, a correct coat, good shoulders and body, moved excellently to gain DCC and BOB. 2 Rogerson’s Nosregor Ellans Vallin. Chocolate with a short back and a well held tail, good ear placement, sound coat, well presented and moved. 3 Rodgers’ Galzivachs Rockabilly. Pale gold with good head and ears, a trifle long cast, moved satisfactorily.
Sp Vet (4) 1 Andrews’ Ch Runfold Northern Lights. A black with a very nice coat, good typical head and expression, moved excellently. 2 Bard’s Ch Wyndlee The Crowman. A small black, neat, compact and full of charm. 3 Pooley’s Rossford Apollo. Lovely mover, just a trifle long cast.
BITCHES: Sp P (8) 1 Orchard’s Runfold Fatal Attraction. BPIB. A super compact youngster, moved extremely well with true aplomb, one to watch. 2 Hewett’s Runfold Eternal. Not enough substance for my taste for her age, she moved well but I do hope that we are going to find better quality that there appeared to be in the class. 3 Briggs’ Pennypot Magic. A black, but again with not enough substance for her age.
Sp J (6) 1 Pooley’s Wyndlee Fallen Angel. Gold coloured youngster, fortunately she is sound in general and looks to have real promise, good head and eyes, sound mover on good legs and feet. 2 Hindley & Curson’s Shelaynes Little Showgirl. Another compact, well constructed bitch which knew her way round the ring. 3 Purves’ Rossford Brocade At Bulabs. Well made little bitch, but I would still like to see better quality in general for the future of the Mittel.
PG (11) 1 Dorkins’ Lowmita Star Light. A solidly built with well formed body, well carried tail, good expression, moved acceptably. 2 Burge’s Kuseley Ice ’N A Slice. A blue bitch of reasonable quality and nice movement. 3 Gilliard’s Wyndlee Surprise Party At Runfold. Shaped in outline as per standard but without the substance necessary.
L (10) 1 Garbutt’s Runfold China Crisis At Nixtev. A cream with a lovely eye and head, well balanced in body and limbs, good mover, good bone structure. 2 Richardson’s Wyndlee Sea Breeze Over Jomihvar. Very intelligent head and expression, not quite the substance of winner but a pleasing bitch all round. 3 Dorkins’ Kuseley Hubbub. Beautifully handled with a tail which never stopped moving!
O (11) 1 Watkins’ Squirelldene Mignonette. Neat as they come, super head, sound body, moved extremely well. BCC. 2 Burge’s Ch Kendamar Web Of Dreams At Calrissian. Another thoroughly pleasing bitch, beautifully proportioned and made, pushed very hard and thoroughly deserved her Res CC. 3 Roskell’s Galvizach Holy Smike, JW. Cheeky little black with style, made a very nice line up with first two.
Sp Vet (3) 1 Naylor’s Abbeyhome Heven Joy. Very nice gold bitch, smart for her age, deserved to win her class. 2 Moir’s Ch Willmac Kreme Kookie At Jansanleis. An old friend of mine still looking the part and well handled. 3 Thomas’ Willmac Naughty nancy Of Squirreldene. The very last class of the day and she lasted well to go round the ring like a bitch half her age.
