German Spitz Mittel
It was a bit late in the day before we started these but this did not seem to dampen the exhibitors enthusiasm. We were fortunate we were able to take advantage of a good sized ring.
VD (0). PD (4) 1 Hewett’s Spellcast Shout About It, well grown black, proved to be the star of the entry. Very mature in both breed points & showmanship, perfect mouth, lovely dark eye colour, width & shape to skull, good wedge to muzzle & neat in ear. Well developed in body, level topline, pleasing neck, tail set right up on top. Moved beautifully in every direction. I hope he will stay at this size. CC & BOB; 2 Chambers’ Musique Worth The Wait, older but not as mature brown. Skull needs to develop. Somewhat upright in shoulder which does not help his front. Good proportions, moving nicely going away, excellent tail carriage; 3 Mountain’s Hocombewood Charlie Brown. JD(5) 1 Swani’s Spellcast Team Talk & 2 McWilliam & McWilliam’s Nixtev Raziel at Istramac. Two brothers from the same dam as CC winner. Black, lovely headpieces, good pigment throughout & tidy mouths. Nicely boned, decent ribbing & good tailsets. 1 was better for front angulation & nicely handled. Little to split them but 2 not quite as positive in front. Both moved very well on well angulated quarters; 3 Saich’s Hocombewood Hot Toddy for Lindcoly. PGD (2) 1 Williams’ Druitz The Student Prince, harsh coated black, plenty of jacket, pleasing head qualities, good expression from dark eyes, well ribbed, good length & short couplings. Very confident & strutted round the ring as if he owned it, particularly good at the rear; 2 Depper’s Abbicher Black Diamond, good skull & muzzle ratio, neat ears, lovely legs & feet, well carried tail. Not quite as confident as 1 but did move well once he settled to the task. LD (5) 1 Pooley’s Wyndlee Short N’ Sweet, good harsh coat on this slightly smaller black. Pleasing head. Expression would be enhanced by a more oval eye. Decent neck leading to well ribbed body, positive topline & high set on tail, tidy legs & feet providing good action in both directions; 2 Lord’s Nixtev Phoenix, beautifully presented white, the best of legs & feet, good for size, well balanced outline & showing nicely. Good pigmentation, excellent ribcage of length & depth. Did not cover the ground as well as 1; 3 Andrew’s Claran Narada. OD (4) 1 Williams’ Ch Druitz Black Prince, another black to provide me with a total line up of the same colour. In lovely coat & condition, well handled, pretty good on the move. Pressed the youngster hard as there is so much that is right about him from his head to his quarters & particularly good angulation at rear. Perhaps he appeared a bit small though, of course, he is within the measure. RCC; 2 Purves’ Bulabs Polarbear, well coated cream of pleasing type, nice pigmentation, good topline, tail carriage & plume, good quality bone, neat feet, moved fairly well; 3 Andrew’s Claran Shades of Fontleroy. GCD (0).
VB (1) A. PB (4) 1 King’s Spellcast Talk To Da Tail, sister to the PD & the same quality is evident. Lovely cream colouration, good pigment, feminine outlook & should develop further in skull to enhance her head. Well angulated, moved correctly helped by this. Super topline & tail. Unlucky to be against her super brother on a good day; 2 Francis, Pearce & Garbutt’s Nixtev Selenia with Longsdale, cream of extremely good quality. A little accident earlier in the day cost her the top spot though thankfully it is a temporary failing. Loved her outline, head & body proportions. Would just like her to tighten up on her nicely shaped feet; 3 Williams’ Hocombewood Party Popper at Druitz. JB (4) 1 Moir’s Ch Jansanleis Mayhem, quality jacket on this impressive cream whose outline would just improve so much with a tad more neck. Lovely muzzle to skull relationship, sweet expression, neatest of ears, excellent well sprung ribcage, totally level in topline & well carried tail. All held together on the move. RCC; 2 Pooley’s Spellcast Talking Secrets with Azkaban, quality black, pleasing head & expression, well constructed in front, adequate ribbing & good proportions. Would prefer more positive hindquarters.PGB (3) 1 Richardson’s Wyndlee Lawdy Miss Clawdy at Jomihvar, pretty orange, coming into good coat. Well balanced, standing up on her toes beautifully, nicely boned, good body shape, excellent tailset, good on the move covering the ground well & with style; 2 McLaren’s Ichmoran Primrose Polka, somewhat energetic young lady who was not quite ready to cooperate. Lovely head & mouth, good for topline & tail carriage. Losing her coat & not moving too well. LB (1) 1 Mountain’s Daraydala Pink Fizz at Hocombewood, well constructed brown, coming into an excellent quality coat. Very typical in head, lovely toning pigmentation, nicely boned & tight feet, pleasing in topline & tailset. Found her rather busy on the move, not quite covering the ground as she should. OB (4) 1 Chambers’ Ch Nosregor Bewitched for Musique, impressive brown, well presented rather silky jacket. Perfectly behaved for her expert handler, great had qualities, lovely expression, neatest of ears, nicely boned, good feet. I would prefer a little more angulation in front. Well sprung in body, short couplings, high set tail, good plume. Though alone her attitude was ‘the ring is mine’, this carried through into the challenge where she deserved the top spot. CC. GCB (1) 1 W Lawdy Miss Clawdy at J.
