LEEDS - 2026

GERMAN SPITZ - MITTEL

Great to be back with you all 3yrs on & to find the breed in a gd place, albeit with varied types as with most breeds, but with no Category 2 issues. A couple were pushing their luck with the measure whilst another couple I suspect may have gone under the Klein measure! All were blk unless I have identified otherwise.  Of the 26 exhibits just 3 were absent. We were assigned a stewarding duo fully determined to see us through, inc the volume of paperwork that blew in the wind, & that was appreciated.  JD (1,0) 1 Pollen's Tispitza's Midnight Ritual At Fabolym; what a quality 16m youngster to start us off; well knit & almost square;  50:50 skull to muzzle proportions; oblique oval eye with blk rims: small, highset, triangular, ears; level with rounded rib; highset tail curled over his back; moderate angulation enabled that breed specific brisk, straight, action on cat-like feet; surely title bound as was pleased to so mark with the Res Dog CC   PGD (1, 0)  1 Wilson's  Izlou Everday I'm Truffling At Flytesway; rising 4yrs; made him a touch longer in muzzle as against skull; correct degree of leg length so that from his brisket to ground was not less than half his height from the ground to his withers (and is much easier to see & take note of than it is to type out!); well ribbed & level, if a tad less square, with a typically brisk & true action, carrying his tail well, on ex feet; noted his harsh top coat.  LD (3,0) 1 Clarke's  Shelayne Riotous Revelry; 19m described as an orange sable; flat skull with a taper down through his muzzle, via a moderate stop, to give the wedge shape; in my judging book I double underlined " ex eye " as not set too far apart, dark oblique & oval with blk rims; short coupled with a moderately short, clean, neck; ex tailset with curled carriage; needs no more rear angulation; truly brisk gait on ex feet; wouldn't be the least surprised to see him titled & wish him well 2 Drechsler  Longsdale's Derun Around At Jeansway; 2yrs litter brother to the BOB; scored with his moderate angles & well knit squareness; ex 50/50 skull & muzzle proportions; ex oblique eye with blk rims; spot on for tailset & carriage; made gd use of his hocks, to move briskly, albeit tended to cross over when coming on; double coated with harsh topcoat with frill over shoulders. 3 Blight's  Longsdale's Take It Easy OD (7, 0) Quite a class to make me work...and think!  1 Pearce & Francis Ch Longsdales Look At Me Now; 2yrs where I started to list all his breed specifics but eventually ended up writing "etc, etc"; frankly he ticks every box not least his proportions through both head & body; not least in his short-coupled squareness; not least in his height from brisket to ground; not least in his moderation whether in neck or in angulation; not least in his double coat with frill over his shoulders; then he takes it all up a notch as he breaks into his gait & demonstrates a straight briskness that was unmatched in its consistency even in an entry of this quality; CC & BOB plus Group shortlist.  2  O' Leary Cadasaro Gerhard; cream just turned 3yrs with amazing pigment that was so striking even including blk eye rims; short-coupled to be almost square; ex structure; level with rounded rib cage; ex tail carriage; so brisk & sound with "attitude "; believe he will still further mature on to his distinct advantage in such company; benefitted from positive handling. 3 Taylor's  Tispitza's Futterwacken VD (1,0)  1 Rosebury's  Nixtev Xander; rising 11yrs white with the blackest of pigment inc eye rims; so compact, short coupled & practically square; wedge-shaped head with flat skull & moderate stop; moderately short neck plus moderate body angles throughout; double coated; highset, duly curled, tail; all credit to this exhibitor for keeping him in such condition in his senior years.  JB (2,1)  1 Heslop's  Flamuna Suck It And See; 16m with a nearly flat skull; oval oblique eye & a wedge-shaped muzzle, half the length of her head; compact, level & pretty square but would have been even more so with a tad more leg length, albeit she is going through that teenage growing process; harsh top coat; loved her brisk, straight,  action with ideal tail carriage; one that her peers will need to keep in mind.  LB (3,0)  1Pearce & Francis Longsdale's Have Da Heart; just turned 2yrs; classic wedge shaped head with essentially a flat skull; well set oblique eye; moderate stop; excelled in eye & ear; moderately short neck; ideal height; almost square & well ribbed; best of coats; so sound with an eye-catching, brisk, action to never leave the issue in doubt & fully justify the Res Bitch CC  2 Heslop's  Flamuna Definitely Maybe; rising 4yrs brown who was so v typical in all respects & well able to hold her own; scored in all aspects of her head of 50:50 proportions & dark oblique eye plus rims; so well bodied being compact & well ribbed; moderate angulation notably in rear; went straight & brisk on cat-like feet; double coated.  3 Fitton's Nosregor Cassiopeia At Shelayne OB (7,0)  Another challenging class seeing as it included 5 Champions present  1 Taylor's Ch Tispitza's Avada Kedavra; 2.5yrs half-sister to the Dog CC & was 100% the best mover to even challenge him; wedge shaped head with moderate stop & of 50:50 proportions; squarely compact; so level; rounded ribs; textbook moderation in neck & angles; highset tail curled over her back; harsh topcoat plus frill; so brisk; she, put simply, "screams” quality. Bitch CC  2 Pearce & Francis Ch Longsdale's I Will Survive; 4.5 yrs & hence so well named as is clearly still capable of taking on her peers just like today; am loathe to simply reiterate all those boxes that she ticks as the breed standard is readily available; in her head it was her eyes & ears that made a difference whilst in her body it was her moderation throughout; on the move, of course, it was her briskness of foot plus curled, highset, tail; quite the Diva & justifiably so. 3 Roberts'  Cwrtafon Cosmic Love
