Critique

Thank you for a pleasing entry. No dogs over the measure. Mouths on the whole were good but I was shocked by the large number of very dirty teeth. Some dogs must be suffering greatly with plaque caked on. This needs to be addressed - as many dogs were quite young. One or two dogs had trimmed ears: not the Breed Standard. Movement overall was fait but a number of dogs were crabbing. This was not necessarily poor construction. A little more training might help. I was pleased with both my line-ups.

MPD (5) 1Chambers’ and Rogerson’s Druitz Corncracker for Teamspitz. Best Puppy. Lovely cream showing amazing maturity and ring presence. Lovely wedge shaped spitz head carrying correctly shaped and sized ears. Good dark eyes and displaying a nice coat of correct texture with undercoat. Tail set high, neat feet. Excellent bone and body, moved well front and rear. 2 Gardner and Duke’s Daraydala Secret Squirrel. Not quite as well balanced yet as the winner but moved quite nicely both coming and going, with good side gait. Pleasing head and expression, enough neck. Needs to body up. Not in full coat, but the quality is there. High set tail and neat tidy feet. 3 Clayton’s Studholme Wizard of Ozz.

PD (2) 1 Hewett’s Runfold Full Frottle with Spellcast. Well presented chocolate with good wedge shaped head. Neat ears and oval, oblique set eyes. Needs to body up. Moved quite well both ways. Good tailset and topline. 2 Rogerson’s Galvizach Tye the Knot at Nosregor. Well balanced cream not yet in full coat. Good head shape but I would prefer smaller ears. Correct mouth, nice eye shape and placement. Needs to settle on the move.

JD (6) 1 Roskell’s Galvizach Phixons Flyer. Well conditioned black with well proportioned spitzy head. Correctly placed and sized ears. Good eye shape. Compact and short coupled with good bone and body. Lacking a little in coat. Movement reasonable. 2 Hickman’s Kateandy Creme de la Creme. Good overall, almost square cream with pleasing head. Small erect ears and correct eye shape. Harsh topcoat. Neat tidy feet and high tailset. Moved reasonably well but a little close in rear. 3 Hewett’s Runfold Full Frottle with Spellcast.

PGD (10) 1 Beard’s Wyndlee Ghost in my House. Well balanced cream carrying good harsh coat. Well placed erect small ears. Good dark eye and correct mouth. Well boned and bodied, good topline, well carried tail. Moved well when settled. 2 Holland’s Schojan’s Dream Maker. Nice head proportions and good dark eye on thisharsh coated orange sable. Very well boned, compact body. High tail set, neat feet. Rather unsettled on the move but once going was straight both ways. 3 Clayton;s Studholme Bronco Kid.

LD (7) 1 Rogerson’s Nosregor Mystical Myth. CC and Best of Breed. Beautifully presented and well balanced cream with harsh top coat, woolly undercoat and looking a picture. Wedge shaped head with well placed ears, lovely dark obliquely set eyes and correct mouth, white teeth sparkling. Well boned and bodied and moved briskly both ways. All dog without being coarse. Alert and showed well.2 Connor’s Galvizach Limited Edition. Super outline and very full coat on this attractive sable and white. Quite nice head with small, erect ears and good mouth. Lighter in bone than the winner and lacking in substance. Movement not as good as the winner and could tighten up in front. Well presented. 3 Day’s Loki’s Gold Ingot.

OD (4) 1 O’Loughlin’s Clonan Earthwormlin under Cacilta. Res CC. Eyecatching chocolate with lovely spitzy outline and wedge shaped head. Ears a little wide set. Good body and bone and nice high tailset. Neat and tidy feet. Good clean mouth. Quality coat, well presented. Just a fraction close behind on the move but straight front. 2 Williams’ Druitz Benedict Arnold. Attractive almost square orange sable which moved with purpose. Good sized erect ears and nice eye shape. Well ribbed and boned. Not in full coat on the day.

MPB (5) 1 Briggs’ Pennypot Enchantress. Sweet, well balanced and very feminine black. Very compact with well proportioned bone to body. Nice head and erect, small ears. Well set tail and tight feet. Moved well for such a youngster. 2 Roberts’ Veratina Moonlight Star. Much larger baby who was in a slightly unco-operative mood, making assessment of movement impossible. Reasonable wedge head but rather wide set ears. Nice bone and body. Good tail carriage.

PB (7) 1 Clarkes’ Runfold Frantic Freda. Quite a mature looking youngster with lovely overall shape and quite well balanced. Good ribs and bone and nice front. Harsh coat coming on. Moved reasonably well both ways once settled. 2 Williams’ Druitz September Song. Shaded sable, very compact and smart on the move. Nice wedge head with good eye shape and earset. Adequate bone and body for age. Harsh coat coming. 3 Beard’s Wyndee Finlandia.

JB (2) 1 Rogerson and Dore’s Kateandy Black Magic at Nosregor. CC. Lovely head on this feminine shaded black. Well shaped skull and good proportion muzzle to head. Erect small ears in the right place, correct eye shape and good mouth. Enough neck. Well put together and moved briskly and with purpose, keeping a good topline. Lovely bone and body. Super young lady who lost out on lack of coat and overall picture in the challenge. 2 Purves’ Bulabs Truly Scrumptious. Feminine cream, rather longer in loin than the winner. Neat ears, good proportion muzzle to head, correct mouth and good pigmentation. Rather wide in front on the move and needs more drive from the rear. Harsh coat coming.

PGB (5) 1 Clayton’s Studholme Kiss an Tell. Pretty compact white, quite nice head with well set small ears and good eye shape. Pigmentation could be better. Well proportioned bone and body and good substance. Fair movement. 2 Roberts’ Veratina Bonnie Blue. Quite nice overall picture and a reasonably boned and bodied lady. Nice earset and good mouth on spitzy head. Good tail carriage. Well conditioned but slightly wiry coat. Once going moved quite well in front and reasonable rear drive. 3 Rurves’ Rossfort Brocade at Bulabs.

LB (9) 1 Sanderson’s Galvizach Fredrika via Danack. Feminine head with nice set ears and correct eye and shape. Well ribbed up and well boned. Good angulation, consequently moved well, covering the ground nicely and with a good topline. Short on coat but harsh texture. 2 Garbutt’s Nixtev Fyrefly. Smart black in good coat and with good bone and body. Correct mouth, clean teeth. Slightly longer in loin than the winner. Moved straight both ways. 3 McLaren’s Rossfort Indianna.

OB (5) 1 Garbutt’s Ch Runfold China Crisis at Nixtev. Res CC. A very nice cream with good harsh topcoat. Well angulated and moved with purpose front and rear, coping well with the ground. Balanced spitz head with well set ears. Good eyes and correct length of muzzle. Plenty of bone and well ribbed. Just lacked a bit of sparkle in the final line up. 2 Hickman’s Nosregor Cadberries Girl. I liked this chocolate girl a lot bit on the day she was lacking her coat. In good firm condition, was well balanced and moved out well coming and going. A lovely wedge shaped head with neat ears and good eye shape and placement. Plenty of bone and well ribbed. 3 Williams’ Ch Squirreldene Paeony at Rikarlo.
