Critique

At short notice I took over the judging appointment of Mrs Helen Banfield who unfortunately had to withdraw due to ill health. She had drawn a lovely quality entry which it was a pleasure to judge. A lot has been said recently about the quality of the Mittel German Spitz but if today's entry was a look at the future then the breed has made great effort to tackle it's problems with some quality youngsters coming along.

DOGS.

MP (2). 1 Purves Bulabs Polarbear. Cream, compact with well set tail correctly carried. Good bone. Nice head with well rounded muzzle. Showed continuously. 2 Blight Rosechow Ehrik. Young dog with lovely shape reluctance to use his tail spoilt the overall effect. Good head correctly filled in foreface, nice well placed eye. Well rounded body. Moved and showed well.

P (1). 1 Orchard Spilmah Penny For Em. At top end of measure. Stood foursquare. Nice head, eye and expression with well set ears. Well rounded ribcage, moderate tuckup and well set tail. Good legs and feet. Moved soundly.

J (4). 1 Hewett: Spellcast Talk To Me. Well presented lively black dog in good coat and condition. Good head with well placed ears and dark eye. Good body with excellent tail carriage. Moved freely. 2 Purves Rossfort Xcel Among Bulabs. Cream, similar to the winner but preferred the slightly more masculine outlook of the first. In nice coat of correct texture. Good front assembly. Nicely boned; but I would like to see a little more body, however this is only a young dog and will change with time. 3 Mulholland & Looker Caoilta Nemesis.

PG (7,2). 1 Beard Wyndlee Chandera Spectre. Lovely young red dog, good in outline. Coat coming in. Good in head and shoulders. Carried tail correctly at all times. A really nice dog. 2 Calvert & King Red Alert. Stronger dog throughout than the winner. Very masculine in outlook. Excellent body. Good head. Well set tail correctly carried. Handled well and moved soundly. 3 Williams Drutiz Snow King.

L (8). 1 Beech Galvizach Luck Of The Irish In Sandkarah (RDCC). Had an unfortunate accident when I had just finished making my final assessment for the Challenge, but as I had already decided to award him the RDCC I felt that it was proper that my decision should still stand. Black dog in excellent coat and condition balanced throughout. Good head pattern which excels in eye and ear. Moved soundly in the class. 2 Clayton Studholme Bronco KId. Cream dog, slightly longer in muzzle. Showed continuously with good ear carriage In nice coat. Not the bone of the winner, but good body. Moved freely. 3 Purves Bulabs Spirit In The Sky.

O (8,1). 1 Beard Ch Wyndlee Ghost In My House (DCC)(BOB). A very strong class with many quality dogs which it was a pleasure to go over. Winner being a cream in lovely coat of the correct texture. Good hard condition. Excellent head and expression. Good bone, nice legs and feet. Looked square in outline with no exaggeration. Correct tail set. 2 Chambers & Rogerson Ch Druitz Corncracker For Teamspitz JW ShCM. Another excellent cream. Beautifully presented in good coat and condition. Good head and eye. Moved soundly. 3 Hunter Nemo Aus Dem Norden (IMP).

BITCHES

MP (5). 1 Orchard Spilmah Affair To Say. Nice size. Very good coat for age. Lovely shape with good head and true spitzy expression. Neat feet. Well set tail. Moved freely should have a bright future, one I will watch with interest. 2 Blight Rosechow Ekko. Balanced bitch. Good head with nice eye. Not as much coat yet as the winner. Well set tail correctly carried. Showed and moved well. 3 Holmes Wyndlee Fire And Ice.

P (4). 1 Beech Galvizach Limited Look In Sandkarah (BCC)(BP). Very glamorous feminine young particolour bitch. Excels in head eye and expression. Balanced throughout with no exaggeration. Correctly carried tail. Good legs and feet. Moved freely. 2 Beard Spilmah Penny Layne In Wyndlee. Immature back which just needs time, but showing a lot of promise. Well constructed with good head & ears. Good fore and aft. Sound mover. Another quality puppy. 3 Holmes Wyndlee Fire And Ice.

J (5,1). 1 Chambers Nosregor Bewtiched For Musique. Balanced feminine Chocolate bitch in good coat and condition. Good head and muzzle. Well rounded body. Very sound quality bitch. Moved well. 2 Beard Spilmah Penny Layne In Wyndlee (Second in Puppy). 3 Thurston Rossfort Xanadu From Liubice.

PG (5,2). 1 Clayton Studholme Loving Lass. Cream not in full coat at present. Good head with well placed eye and good ear carriage. Correct bone with nice legs and feet. 2 Mulholland Umshubwe Ruby’s Black Onyx Mit Zephon. Black, not the quality of the first. Slightly curly coat and slighty long in back with rise over loin. Nice head and expression. 3 Gray Druitz September Song From Penlas.

L (5,1). 1 Beard Danacks Winnie The Witch. Very feminine dark chocolate bitch. Excels in type. Good depth of rib with moderate tuck up. Correct tail set and carriage. Good front and rear assembly. Moved soundly both fore and aft. 2 Purves Bulabs Truly Scrumptious. Cream always on the go but did manage to stand and show well. Nice head and expression with good eye and ear placement. Similar to the winner but slightly longer in back. Two quality bitches. 3 Pooley Wyndlee Angel From Azkaban.

O (4,2). 1 Hunter Rossfort Casual Look (RBCC). Compact cream bitch in lovely coat. Looked good in outline. Nice head pattern with well filled muzzle and dark obliquely set eyes. Good body, in firm hard condition. Stood and showed well. 2 Rogerson & Dore Ch Kateandy Black Magic At Nosregor. Black, slightly smaller than winner. In good coat, well presented. Balanced throughout. A nice bitch, pressed winner hard.
