German Spitz Mittel

Slightly more varied than the Kleins, but all within the size range. Heads had quite good proportions. It was sometimes difficult to balanced heads, movement & proportions.

PD (5) 1 Hewett’s Spellcast Shout About It, masculine dog who looks big but goes under measure easily, super head, lovely eye & expression, flat skull, good neck, balanced angulation. Had his own ideas on the move, but sound when settled. Well bodied in correct coat; 2 Satch’s Hocombewood Hot Toddy for Lindcoly, very good head with pigment & eye colour to match his coat, well proportioned head, neat ears, good eyes, compact body, good bone & feet, level topline, moves well; 3 Chamber’s Musique Worth The Wait. JD (2) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Studholme Rolls Of Thunder at Longsdale, very good moving dog with brisk stride, full of himself, super head, medium stop, lovely eyes, flat skull, neat ears, correct neck, well laid shoulder. A bit short in upper arm & pastern could be firmer. Super body, firm topline, well made rear & low hocks. Just overstretches a bit; 2 H Hot Toddy for L. ND (2) 1 Hornby-Smith’s Druitz The Gingerbread Man at Spitzbury, correct shape & proportions, square, nice length of leg, wedge head, well shaped eyes. A bit too deep in stop. Correct neck, in good coat, moves well; 2 Green’s Runfold Night Navigator, rather out of coat & raw looking. Masculine head with too much stop but good eyes & fair neck. Could be a bit tidier out & back. Level topline. PGD (1) 1 Williams’ Druitz The Student Prince, masculine dog with a lovely head with wedge shape, dark eyes, flat skull, neat ears, moderate angulation, level back. Just a bit untidy out & back. LD (5) Closely contested class right down the line. 1 Mulholland’s Zephon Nebula Rubiestar, just a fraction long but looks square on the floor & on the move. Best mover in the class, well proportioned masculine head with medium stop, flat skull, super eyes & ears, good chest, well made front, firm topline, liked his rear. Feet could be better. CC; 2 Jones’ Flamuna Revalations at Runestone, so very showy, lovely head, super muzzle & skull balance. Ears just a bit large. Good neck. Can stand a bit wide in front. Super body, loved his shape. Could use rear better; 3 Smith’s Sandkarahs Mister Mischief Black. OD (3) 1 Williams’ Ch Druitz Black Prince, square dog of correct proportions of brisket depth to leg, super head, correct eyes, flat skull, very good neck, short back, moderate angulation. Would like slightly better hind action & to be tidier in front. Super shape, good coat. RCC; 2 Mulholland’s Ch Zephon Spooks The Tempest, masculine dog with a very good head, correct eye shape, flat skull. Would prefer better pigment for expression. Correct neck, good chest, well ribbed, balanced angles, fair mover; 3 Andrew’s Claran Narada.

PB (4) 1 Francis, Pearce & Garbutt’s Nixtev Selenia with Longsdale, feminine bitch of lovely shape, square with correct depth of chest, feminine wedge head, correct balance of skull & muzzle. Would prefer a slightly larger eye, neat ears, correct neck & shoulder. A bit upright in upper arm & can lift front legs a bit. Wonderful body & rib, super rear which she uses so well. RCC & BP; 2 Williams’ Hocombewood Black Beuty at Druitz, square shaped bitch, feminine head, flat skull, super eye, ear & expression, moderate angulation, firm topline, moves well. Just needs to body up; 3 Williams’ Hocombewood Party Popper of Druitz. JB (1) 1 Pooley’s Spellcast Talking Secrets with Azkaban, feminine bitch with a brisk even stride. Could be tidier up & back. Pleasing head, well balanced wedge, neat ears, good neck, balanced angulation, level topline. NB (0). PGB (1) 1 Blight’s Flamuna Curtain Call for Rosechow, square bitch of correct proportions, feminine head. Just a bit deep in stop. Dark eyes, super ears, correct neck into firm topline, good chest, well sprung ribs giving a sturdy body. A bit untidy out & back & could have more stride. LB (0). OB (4) 1 Garbutt’s Nixtec Lexis, really well made bitch, just a fraction longer than ideal. Super head, lovely wedge with dark eye, medium stop & flat skull, correct neck, well made front & rear, super body, very good mover. CC & BOB; 2 Chambers’ Ch Nosregor Bewitched for Musique, square bitch but coat a bit soft & a tad untidy out & back. Super head, oval eyes, neat ears, flat skull, good neck, short back, balanced angulation. Feet could be better. Shows so well; 3 Orr’s Rossfort Andane with Sobriety.
