Critique
I have now judged German Spitz on several occasions having followed him closely since they were first introduced into UK. There have been many lovely dogs but there is no doubt that at Blackpool there were some outstanding and exception specimens of the breed in both sizes. My best of breed Klein, in particular, is a very impressive example of the breed but there were many close-up to her. My congratulations to breeders and exhibitors for really raising the standard over the years and certainly since I last judged them.
PD (2,1) 1 Beard's Wyndlee Jester BP. Standing alone but a very nice example of the breed, good expression but perhaps a little straight in the hindquarter, good tail set and carriage.
JD (3,1) Garbutt's Nixtev Torvald. A little gangly at the moment but a nice outline, good head and expression although slightly too tightly curled tail. 2 Heslop's Flamuna Arktouros. Just under the measure, a little straight in shoulder and crabbed a little on the move. I little restricted in front coming.
PGD (4,1) 1 Smith's Spellcast Jive Talking DCC BIB. Lovely dog with and excellent outline and very well balanced, Super coat giving a typical outline. 2 Drechsler's Wyndlee Blowin In The Wind At Jeansway. Another good one though a fraction longer in body. Very good head and expression. Moved quite well but lacked reach. 3 Holmes' Maxina Million. Still needs to mature: lacks some coat and perhaps over square and rather straight in hindquarter. LD (4)1 Williams Spellcast Talk To Da Paw At Trebettyn. Very nice dog, good angulation, clean, correct outline, good head and expression. Perhaps a little over angulated behind. 2 Hughes & Forrester's Druitz Welsh Wizard at Candease. Close up to 1 rather a strong expression good conformation and outline good coat Druitz. 3 Holmes' Maxina Million.
OD (6) 1 Lord's Nixtev Phoenix. Nice outline and good expression, a little upright in shoulder RDCC. 2 Heslop's Flamuna Franz Ferdinand. Very close up to 1 even more upright in shoulder. Ears set a little wide apart, moved well. 3 Garbutt's Nixtev Polarize.
PB (3) 1 Beard's Wyndlee Jet. Very nice little bitch coming on well: right size and shape, moved well and with confidence. 2 Beard's Wyndlee Jenny. Another good one just fractionally longer in body lovely expression. 3 Orr's Rossfort Soba Of Sobriety. Rather too long in back but may tighten up as she matures but with a good head an attractive expression.
JB (5,1) Lovely class for dogs all of whom are very nice indeed. 1 Francis, Pearce & Garbutt's Nixtev Selenia With Longsdale BCC. Beautifully example of the breed with a lovely shape, 'spot on' outline of just the right proportions with a beautiful tail set. Moved beutifully. A real stunner. 2 Duncan's Spellcast Talk Of The Town. Another very good one, marginally over angulated in the hindquarter but difficult to fault otherwise. Moved very well, lovely expression an excellent outline. 3 Garbutt's Nixtev Tantalize. Tail set not quite that of those above but nevertheless a very nicely proportioned bitch with a good expression and moved well. PGB (2,1) 1 Alfred's Rossfort Black Girl At Teamor. Standing alone: a little slight for a Mittel and moving a little too wide in front but a good expression although a little straight behind.
LB (5,2) 1 Hindley & Fitton's Goldenwhin Zodiac. A very nice shape, good tail set, good head and expression: lacks a little pigment but moved quite well. 2 Heslops' Flamuna Babyshambles. A nice shape, good coat, tail set a little too low, ears a wide apart and set slightly too far back. 3 Williams' Druitz Follow That Dream. Another one with a good outline. Moved well but not quite the expression of those above.
OB (3) 1 Orr's Rossfort Andante With Sobriety JW RBCC. An excellent class 1. A beautiful bitch, lovely outline, moved extremely well, lovely head and expression. Tail perhaps too tightly curled but otherwise terrific. 2 Moir's Ch Jansanleis Mayhem JW. Beautiful outline, good head and expression excellent tail. Did not move quite as smoothly as 1. 3 Mccullock's Ir Ch Wyndlee Maggies Farm At Mcpaws. Lovely bitch, good outline and angulation but just favouring back offside hind leg on the move.
