Thank you to all exhibitors for accepting my last-minute replacement as your judge with such sporting good humour. It was an honour indeed to take over Stuart Mallard's high quality entry while wishing that the reason for this had been otherwise. It is a relief to hear now that Rod Oldham, his partner, is not only recovering well but is very cheerful and fully intending to be back with us all again soon.
PD (3) 1 Orr's Sobriety Jack Daniels. Such a sophisticated showman with dark pigment contrasting well against his fawn coat, in excellent coat and condition, lovely head and expression. Scored on shoulder and just on balance over what transpired to be his litter brother. Good mover. 2 Orr's Sobriety Born To Be Wild. Fawn/w parti with such a lovely bright intelligent expression and excellent pigment. Just a little less mature than his brother as yet. 3 William' Grizwold Lohengrin at Druitz.
JD (1) 1 Beard's Wyndlee Jester. Gorgeous brown, his richly coloured straight coat shining in the sun, so well balanced with small neat ears and so very mature for his 11 months. Beautifully made all through with well laid shoulder and firmly muscled quarters. A good brisk mover, being particularly impressive in front and sidegait. BPD.
PGD (2) 1 Holme's Max In A Million. Well balanced wolf sable with good shoulders and hindquarters, excellent pigment, super for size, type, make and shape. He moved beautifully. 2 Hornby-Smith & Smith's Druitz The Gingerbread Man of Spitzbury. Brown, very sound in movement with a lovely temperament, just a little longer in body than the winner.
LD (1) 1 Hewett's Spellcast Shout About It. Most impressive masculine black, full of fun in the best of coat and condition with a charming expression, well laid shoulder and muscled quarters, excellent topline and tailset. So sound and brisk on the move. Reminded me strongly of Ch Talk to Me, who I made RBIS at Thee Counties in 09, and I gather that, indeed, he is from a repeat mating. He certainly deserves his title. RCC.
OD (5) 1 Andrew's Claran Narada. The handsome black is something very special. Not only is he super for size, type, make and shape but such a showman into the bargain. So well balanced with a beautiful masculine head and a bright intelligent expression in his dark sparkling eyes, in fully mature well textured coat and hard condition. He moved to match the excellence of his confirmation. Quite outstanding. CC, his second from me, & BOB. 2 Williams' Ch Druitz Black Prince. Black who holds himself so proudly and basically moved well and briskly, while insisting on picking up his hind legs overly high due perhaps to the grass tickling his pads. Well shaped head and dark expressive eyes, so well conformed all through, lovely for size and type. Not in the fullest of coat currently, just scoring on shoulder and balance over 3, Chambers' Ch Musique Worth The Wait.
VB (1) 1 Hornby-Smith & Smith's Grizwold Iorethm. Orange sable who enjoyed herself to the full at what transpired to be her first show! She has good shoulders and front and actually moved very well if rather more interested in the exciting smells on the ground than the job in hand. BV
PB (3) 1 Beard's Wyndlee Jet. Quite lovely black who, I see, is litter sister to the brown BPD winner, beautiful head, eye, ears and expression, in excellent coat and condition. Well made all through, so good for size, type and balance. Sound, brisk and impressive on the move. RCC, apparently to equal that of her brother, & BP 2 Orr's Rossfort Soba at Sobriety. Black sable, well balanced with good shoulders. Just a touch longer in hock than the winner. She moved well. Very promising. 3 Beard's Wyndlee Jenny.
JB (1) 1 Andrew's Dagsljus Against All Odds at Claran (Imp). Orange sable with the most exquisite head together with bright alert expression and attitude. Well laid shoulder and firm quarters, in excellent coat and condition. Good brisk mover.
LB (2,1) 1 Williams' Hocombewood Party Popper at Druitz. Sable with such a happy personality, lovely eye, expression and pigment. Not in the best of coat currently. Very good mover.
OB (4,1) 1 Williams' Druitz Follow That Dream. Rich brown, who scored on head, eye and balance. So good for make and shape with well laid shoulder, in the best of coat and hard muscular condition. Such a very sound brisk mover, now very much steadier in her showmanship than the last time I judged her when she was bouncing all over the place with my comment that she was taking the buoyancy of the standard rather too literally! CC which, I gather, is her second. May the third come soon. 2 Orr's Rossfort Andante with Sobriety. Cream with excellent pigment and the sweetest of expressions. Good shoulders, quarters, topline and tailset. She went well. 3 McCulloch's Ir Ch Wyndlee Maggies Farm at Macpaws.
