Critique

It was a honour to be asked to judge both sizes of German Spitz at Manchester and would like to thank the Committee, Stewards and all that entered for making it a great day. I was very pleased with my Best of Breed and congratulate her for a faultless display in the Group Ring. An excellent example of this wonderful breed.

I would just like to take this opportunity to remind exhibitors of both Mittles and Kliens as to the preparation of your dog’s coats for the Show Ring. Quote from the KC Breed Standard. “This is not a trimmed breed and evidence of trimming and shaping, other than tidying of feet, anal area and legs below the hocks, is unacceptable.”

PD (5:0a) 1. 3939 Studholm Moon Orbit (Cook & Clayton) A 9 month old brown & white party. Good shape and size with firm body and good ribs for a youngster. Level back, firm loins, high tail set, strait front and parallel hind legs. Balanced head with small erect ears and correct dentition. Good coat for age and moved freely. 2. 3949 Grizwold Moon Song (King) A 9 month old sable male of average size, correct head shape and dentition, dark clear eyes, ears could be smaller to advantage, correct coat in good condition. Moved erratically, needs to calm down when in the ring. 3. 3934 Studholm Moon Walk (Clayton) Res. 3946 Wyndlee Tip of The Storm (Holmes) VHC. 3933 Wyndlee Storm Chasing (Brock)

JD (4:0a) 1. 3947 Grizwold Muraco Moon over Candease (Hughes & Forrester) A well constructed medium sized 10 month old cream male, strong head with good pigment and ear set, correct dentition. Moderate reach of neck into firm level topline with a high tail set. Scored high on the move providing good forward reach and strong drive from the rear. Correct coat texture. – BP. 2. 3941 Borndownunda Talkin Heads of Clarmer (Hamer) A lively 17 month old cream male, good wedge shaped head, small erect ears and correct dentition. Clean neck well set into shoulders, square in profile, well off for bone good coat of correct texture. Bold lively temperament, full of character which made hard work for his handler. 3. 3957 Daraydala Lorenzo (Thomas) Res. 3933 Wyndlee Storm Chasing (Brock)

PGD (2:0a) 1. 3935 Studholme Dark Moon (Clayton) A 2 year old large sized well balanced black & white male, good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage, masculine head, decent front, ribs well sprung & topline level, high tailset, Correct coat texture, moved soundly all round the ring, - RDCC. 2. 3944 Nixtev Uraxs Jumasue (Hearson). An 18 month old large white male, strong head with good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage. Profuse coat of correct texture handled well and presented in good condition.

LD (3:0a) 1. 3951 Zephon The Last Samurai (Mulholland) A 21 month old large sized black male, good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage, masculine head, moderate reach of neck into firm level topline with a high tailset. Correct coat texture, moved soundly all round the ring. 2. 3950 Nixtev URaziel at Istramac (McWilliam) A 2 year old cream medium well balanced male, correct head shape and dentition, dark clear eyes, ears could be smaller to advantage, correct coat in good condition. Moved well. 3. 3945 Max in A Million (Holmes)

OD (3:1a) 1. 3955 Ch. Spellcast Jivetalking (Smith) A 3 year old male of good size and breed type, strong masculine head, darkest of eyes, well pigmented, correct bite and ear carriage. Moderate reach of neck into firm level topline with a high tailset., Good forward reach and strong drive from the rear, moved soundly around the ring. Correct harsh coat texture, well handled and presented. - DCC & RBOB 2. 3931 Ir Ch. Wyndlee Jester (Beard) An 18 month old brown male, good wedge shaped head, small erect ears and correct bite. Clean neck well set into shoulders, square in profile, well off for bone, Moved erratically around the ring, probably due to a new handler.

PB(2:0a) 1. 3942 Clarmers Mischief Making (Hamer) A pretty 9 month old cream bitch, well presented in good condition, a pleasing well balanced head with a good shaped eye, good reach of neck, level backline and high tailset, moved well. 2. 3936 Studholme Moon River (Clayton) A reserved compact 10 month old black and white bitch, correct head shape and dentition, dark clear eyes, correct coat in good condition. Moved well.

PGB (3:1a) 1. 3953 Zephon Akane (Mulholland) A lively 2 year old sable bitch, out of coat and slightly on the long side, a pleasing well balanced head with good shaped eyes, good reach of neck leading into level backline, well ribbed and good tail set, moved well. 2. 3956 Darayala Cecilia (Thomas) A medium sized 2 year old black bitch, with a pleasing head and good shaped eye, well ribbed and good tailset, Moved well in side profile but close coming and going.

LB (1:0a) 1. 3937 Studholme Kiss of Fire (Clayton) A lively 5 year old medium size cream bitch with good qualities, a pleasing head, lovely expression, correct pigment, ears set good and alert. Good length of neck leading into well set shoulders. Tailset high and well carried, Good coat of correct texture. Sound moving from all directions but slightly on the long side which probably aided her brisk, effortless gait around the ring. – RCC

OB (3:1a) 1. 3948 Druitz Cariad Bach of Grizwold (King) A 5 year old orange bitch, that possesses some very good qualities, lovely feminine wedge shaped head and expression with small erect ears, correct pigment and dentition. Strong neck of good length but not over done, leading into a firm level topline. Tailset high and well feathered, correct coat. A neat, brisk mover with a particularly good front and side gate. Well handled and presented. - BCC & BOB 2. 3943 Dagsljus Up Town Girl of Clarmer (Hamer) A well presented 2 year old black bitch, a correct femanin wedge shaped head, small erect ears and alert dark almond shaped eyes, clean neck well into sholders, slightly long in profile, strait coming and going and moved well in side action.

VB (1:0a) 1. 3938 Studholme Kiss An Tell (Clayton) This 12.5 year old cream lady still has not lost any of her sparkle. A pleasing head, lovely expression, correct pigment, ears set good and alert. Compact body, level topline, tailset and carridge, good coat texture. Moved well, Still a real credit to her owners, her exuberance would still put some youngsters to shame. - BV
