I have to say I found a couple of serious faults in 90% of the Kleins & Mittels shown today sadly.
The most worrying are the number of dogs who ‘weave’ due to faulty elbows, which gives the appearance of Queen Anne fronts on the move, where the dogs feet converge whether it is moving at speed or not because the legs circle outwards to in. If you see your dog’s forelegs flipping in a semicircle in front then the elbow & upper arm construction is faulty.
The second is the big round eyes parked on the front of the head instead of being oval shape & obliquely set.
Breeders & judges alike are responsible for these serious & obvious faults being seen & rewarded in the show ring.
VD (0). PD (1) 1 Withheld; 2 Withheld; 3 Withheld. JD (4) 1 Hall’s Sobriety’s Grizzly Bear for Pufnstuf, this is a super, sound, well made dog who sadly is over the measure. He has lovely bone & tight feet, excellent coat & texture, he is one of the few with correct eye shape, lovely wedge head & beautifully sound & straight mover; 2 Hughes & Forrester’s Grizwold Muraco Moon over Candease, a nice cream who was out of coat, good wedge head, moved quite well, a nice young dog; 3 Saich’s Lindcoly Fozzie Bear. PGD (7,1a) 1 S Grizzly Bear for P; 2 O’Loughlin’s Caoilta Drexl, this is an adorable boy, not a big dog but very typy & sound, well bodied & compact, just needs his feet to tighten; 3 Wilson’s Nickila Silver Sovereign. LD (7,3) 1 Mulholland’s Zephon The Last Samurai, 3 years black dog just reaching maturity, he is short coupled with lovely tight feet & the soundest mover in the class. He has a lovely head & expression with a good eye set, high tail carriage & lovely profile movement. CC, BOB; 2 Saich’s Zephon Akio at Lindcoly, glamorous coat & colour on this wolf/s, beautiful head & eye, needs more rear angulation; 3 Williams’ Grizwold Lohengrin at Druitz. OD (6) 1 Smith’s Ch Spellcast Jivetalking, 4 years black dog, compact & sturdy, good wedge head & best eye shape & set in class, a mature & well made dog, he had excellent feet with good bone & good rear angulation giving excellent profile movement. RCC; 2 Chambers’ Ch Musique Worth The Wait, choc dog with good bone & tight feet, he has a good tailset giving him a compact & eyecatching profile, moves out around the ring with style, would prefer more underjaw; 3 Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Shout About It. GCD (1) 1 Wilson’s Nickila Silver Sovereign, a very nice glamorous sable in good coat, well set & carried tail, moved well.
VB (1) 1 Purves’ Ch Rossfort Griselda, this girl has a very attractive head & expression, moved nicely in profile. PB (1,1). JB (3) 1 Hamer’s Clarmers Mischief Making, a very pretty & feminine girl with the sweetest of heads & expressions. Not in coat but nothing to hide, she has a well set & carried tail, a strong topline & good lay of shoulder, adequate bone & just needing time to mature; 2 Saich’s Lindcoly Pixie Princess, this was a very pretty & stylish girl, good head, good outline but crabbing on the move today; 3 Saich’s Lindcoly Wishing On A Star. PGB (1,1). LB (6,2) 1 Barnes, Mann & Hewett’s Spellcast Talking About Me, a beautiful bitch of eyecatching quality, she has a lovely head & sweet expression, beautiful earset & carriage, & a compact & sturdy body. Her front was one of the best on the day, & she scored in profile movement; 2 Clewer’s Spellcast Tell A Tail at Bullbo, another black girl, slightly longer cast than 1, good bone & feet high set tail & a pretty head & expression; 3 Mulholland’s Zephon Akane. OB (5) 1 King’s Druitz Cariad Bach of Grizwold, this dark o/s girl was the best surprise of the day, she is not immediately eyecatching & showy but when she moves her construction & front movement are to be envied, her profile movement is strong & stylish, with angles to match, her head & eye shape are also excellent. I hope her third CC is not far away; 2 Williams’ Hocombewood Party Popper at Druitz, a nice sable who moved OK, quite compact, her ears are slightly large; 3 Hamer’s Dagsljus Up Town Girl of Clarmer. GCB (0).
