German Spitz Mittel

Thank you for the appointment & wonderful hospitality. Thanks also to Jean & Joyce, two very capable stewards. I did enjoy my day & found some really nice dogs in the entry but, as we are all aware, size needs to be watched. I expect we all wish that ears could be smaller. Some feet were rather flat which disappointed. One or two level bites but on the whole good clean mouths & temperament second to none.

MPD & PD (1) 1 Saich’s Lindcoly Mischied Maker, almost 9 months black in good coat. Head balance & expression very good. He has a nice outline but movement erratic owing to his puppy exuberance. Very nice baby with time on his side. BPD.

JD (3) 1 Hall’s Sobriety’s Grizzly Bear for Pufnstuf, very nicely balanced brown in good coat. Sweet expression with dark pigment. He has a level topline which is finished off with high set tail in good plumage. Deep ribs & short in loin & although he pushed the measure he won on his good movement; 2 Church’s Nixtev Wolfsbane with Claricheon, bigger all round than 1 but has good balance for his size. Dark pigment which enhances the expression. Level topline & good tail carriage; 3 Clayton’s Galvizach Moon Spectre.

PGD (6,2a) 1 Cook & Clayton’s Studholme Moon Orbit, super make & shape to this young brown parti. Melting expression with dark pigment & correct balance to his head with the best of eye shape & neat well placed ears. Good neck into laid back shoulders & firm level topline which he held all the time. High set tail with plenty of plumage & length to leg good ending in tight well arched catlike feet. His coat exceptionally presented & movement couldn’t be faulted. Pleased to award him a well deserved RCC; 2 Hughes & Forrester’s Grizwold Muraco Moon over Candease, cream with good pigment. Very sweet expression with his dark eyes & well placed ear set in a masculine balanced head. Good neck into well laid shoulders & firm topline. He has a deep well sprung ribcage with slight tuck up & correct length to legs. Good for size with medium bone & in enough coat but have seen him move better. One to watch; 3 Hall’s Sobriety Grizzly Bear for Pufnstuf.

LD (6,2) 1 King’s Grizwold Loki, a r/s who not only has the looks but also the balance of a great dog. He is what I would call a medium boned & sized boy with substance. Lovely head & expression with super eye colour & shape. Almost flat skull with neat alert ears perfectly placed & enhancing his super neck & topline. Short loin with slight tuck up & great muscletone. He is almost square in outline & legs are of good length with correct catlike feet. He had enough very well presented coat & his movement really was second to none. Congratulations on that crowning CC; 2 McWilliams’ Nixtev Raziel at Istramac, very nicely balanced cream who has the darkest pigment. He is good for size with good bone & substance. Well rounded & deep ribcage with slight tuck up to short loin. High set tail in good plumage & correctly carried. Leg length good & well presented correct coat; 3 Saich’s Zephon Akio at Lindcoly.

OD (5) 1 Smith’s Ch Spellcast Jivetalking, black who is good for size, completely balanced with really sweet expression. In full very well presented coat which is of correct texture. Although not a big dog he has a masculine outlook with his super shaped dark eyes & neat ears. Well off for neck into good shoulders & firm topline. Well boned legs & neat catlike feet. Movement a little erratic today & didn’t really want to be there; 2 Chambers’ Ch Musique Worth The Wait, brown in full coat, showman but which was superbly presented. Balanced head with very masculine yet sweet expression. Super eye shape & ears on top. Good length to neck & shoulders well laid into firm & level topline. Plenty of bone, good leg length & super neat feet. Moved well; 3 Beard’s Ir Ch Wyndle E Jester, three well deserved champions.

MPB (4,1) 1 Wells’ Bulabs Lady Penelope at Wolfcreek, white with dark cream ear markings. Super schooled & presented baby who just stood & showed her socks off & moved really well. She is good for size & well balanced in her profile with very sweet feminine head, great eye shape & colour & the neatest ears which she used all the time. Good length to leg & very neat catlike feet. BPB & BP; 2 Purves’ Bulabs Blonde Lady, another super baby. Very attractive dark cream in colour. Balanced all through with really sweet eye & expression. Preferred the size & tighter ear carriage on above. She moved out with style on well boned legs & neat catlike feet; 3 Saich’s Zephon Dreams Made With Love at Lindcoly.

PB (2) 1 Saich’s Zephon Dreams Made With Love at Lindcoly, very feminine white who is really nice to go over. Balanced in head & profile. Sweet expression & neat ears. She is a little longer in loin to be almost square but has good bone for her size & neat well padded feet & she moved really well; 2 Clewer’s Bullbo Over The Moon, well balanced but bigger all round than above. She has good pigment but smaller ears would have enhanced her expression. In enough well presented coat & moved OK. JB (1) A.

PGB (6,2) 1 Alfred’s Nixtev Vitesse at Teamor, another very well balanced cream with super pigment. Good for size & has medium bone, length of leg OK & very neat well padded feet. Liked her showy profile & she moved really well; 2 Clayton’s Studholme Moon River, brown parti, smaller than above but very well balanced which showed in her good movement. In enough well presented coat which is of correct texture. Just preferred the expression of above.

LB (5,1) 1 Chambers’ Musique Charismatic, feminine brown who is so well balanced. Very good to go over on the table once settled. In good coat of correct texture & has super eye shape & colour. However, I felt that her ears although correctly set on her head they distracted from the balance. Loved her make & shape in profile & have seen her move better than today; 2 Conway & Oakden’s Macpaws Roxy Rascal, black in good coat of correct texture. Sweet balanced head into good neck & topline. Elbows could be tighter so unfortunately front not good, so movement suffers; 3 Clayton’s Studholme Penny A Kiss.

OB (8,3) 1 Moir’s Ch Jansanleis Mayhem, my notes say ‘cream, delicious’. I can only add what others might have said about this exceptional dog. Her pigment is out of this world as is her melting expression, balance, substance & femininity. Small neat ears, beautiful dark & shaped eyes combining to give the ‘melt’. In super figure hugging coat covering her well boned legs & neatest of feet which carried her to CC & BOB; 2 King’s Druitz Cariad Bach of Grizwold, a great favourite of mine over the years for her complete balance & super movement. A r/s who has improved with maturity. Her beautifully balanced head is a joy to handle & she has a youthful mouth with sparkly white teeth. Neat ears into good length of neck & laid back shoulders. She has a firm & level topline & slight tuck up to well toned & muscled loin. Beautiful elegant balance to profile on excellent legs & the neatest of well padded feet. Pleased to award her RCC & hope she will make it to the top house; 3 Blight’s Flamuna Curtain Call for Rosechow. A really super class. Thank you for your support.
