I felt ear set and size is something breeders need to consider, with many exhibits having very wide set, large ears, which does change expression, and a couple had level or close to level bites. Whilst the breed standard calls for a short neck – it does call for a neck and some were stuffy and had restricted front movement.

PD (3,0) 1. ROGERSON’s Longsdale's Rumour Has It With Nosrego NAF TAF, excellent bone to tight feet. Compact shape, but retains good angulation and defined short neck, correct wedge head, excellent pigment very good oval eye. Ear high set but a little on large size. Alert and attentive to handler, very sound all ways. 2. CHAMBERS’ Druitz By Design For Musique, close decision, both very nice pups with differing strengths, gorgeous deep brown, excellent coat, very compact square body, but just felt would benefit from little more neck. Lovely high set tail. Correct wedge head, short blunt muzzle, would prefer eyes a shade darker. Sound mover from all directions. 3. ROBERTS’ Longsdale Turning Tables.
PD (2, 0) 1. HEWETT & BARNES’ Spellcast Talk Tidee, another lovely brown, would not want to see him grow any more, in excellent coat which makes him look bigger. Short firm back, lovely high set tail. Well angulated and head carried on short neck. Correct blunt shape for head, good dark oval brown eye, flat skull and high set ears. Moved ok but needs to firm up little in front. 2. CONNOR’s Galvizach Daraydala, shade longer cast, and lower set tail. Preferred front angulation and neck of winner. Head is attractive blunt wedge, with excellent pigmentation, short muzzle. Little wide in chest. Moved ok behind tends to high step and plait in front.
JD (1,0) 1. Spellcast Talk Tidee.
PGD (3,1) 1. HUGHES & FORRESTER’s Grizwold Muraco Moon Over Candease , taller cream, ok for angles, good neck. Head and expression were not typical as skull was somewhat round and eyes were round and large. Neat ears but set very wide. Little erratic on the move.
LD (6,0) 1. MULHOLLAND’s Zephon The Last Samurai black of excellent type, correct square compact shape, well boned, short firm back, high set tail. Excellent head of typical wedge, high set neat ears, flat skull. Excellent coat and condition, good angles, moved well, DCC & BOB. 2. HALL’s Sobriety Grizzly Bear for Pufnstuf JW, bigger chocolate who excels for breed type. Very good angulation, short back, high set tail, in excellent condition and coat. Cracking head lovely wedge, short muzzle, flat cheeks, excellent eye shape and colour, neat high set ears. Moved very well, shame there is just little too much of him. 3. CLAYTON’s Studholme Dark Moon.
OD (4,0) 1. SMITH’s Ch Spellcast Jivetalking, another quality dog, of excellent type, in very good coat, well boned, short and compact body, excellent tail set. Very good angulation and short neck. Lovely head of correct wedge, good eye shape and colour, being picky ears could be a little higher set. Moved very well, close decision with limit dog, RCC. 2. CHAMBERS’ Ch Musique Worth The Wait, lovely rich brown, in fabulous coat and condition, super bone. Well angulated and moved well. Short back to well set tight tail. Correct masculine wedge head, with flat skull and neat ears, being picker eyes just a shade round. A quality dog – would just like little more of him.

OB (5,1) 1. BARNES, MANN & HEWETT’s Spellcast Talking About Me, lot to like about this bitch, she is square in outline has correct angulation and high set tail, good chest. Head is a little rounded in skull and ears could be set closer together to improve expression. Not in fullest of coats. Moved well. 2. BLIGHT’s Flamuna Curtain Call For Rosechow, Another well-made bitch somewhat lacking in coat on the day. Short compact shape, high set tail. Good bone and angulation.
