Critique

Thank you to all exhibitors for such a very good entry, high in both quality & quantity, all without exception with the most charming of temperaments. A special thank you to both my wonderfully efficient stewards from whom, & despite the chill of the afternoon & an earlier unpleasant experience, not a grumble was to be heard!

MPD (4) 1 Orr’s Sobriety Suited And Booted, rich cream of just 6 months at his first show yet already such a happy enthusiastic showman. He seemed to know instinctively what to do, how it should be done & he did it! Beautiful head, eye & expression, so well constructed, in excellent coat & hard condition with good firm topline & well set & carried tail. He moved to match the excellence of his conformation. Even at this young age, close up to the green edged cards. Quite outstanding. Thought there could be nothing to beat him for BP & only wish there had been two such awards & it was a close call but the bitch just had the edge on maturity. His future must be golden. BPD; 2 Saich’s Hocombewood Ace Of Spades at Lindcoly, well made black with excellent pigment & the most charming expression. Good front & quarters, lovely size & type with well textured coat & excellent feet. Moved well in front, can still firm a touch behind; 3 Smith’s Sobriety Moves Like Jagger.

PD (5,1a) 1 S Suited And Booted; 2 H Ace Of Spades at L; 3 Roberts’ Longsdales Turning Tables at Cwrt.

JD (1) 1 Hewett & Barnes’ Spellcast Talk Tidee, brown with most attractive lighter plume. Lovely head & expression, so good for size, type, make & shape, well balanced &, thus, appears taller than he actually is, going under the measure with ease. Excellent mover with good length of stride in side gait.

PGD (6,1) 1 Saich’s Lindcoly Mischief Maker, black, full of himself & his own importance, obviously enjoying every moment. Well balanced with good shoulder & quarters. High set, well carried tail, in excellent coat & condition. Very good brisk mover; 2 Heslop’s Flamuna Arktouros, rich choc brown, another being so well balanced that he is actually smaller than he looks & is of good size. Well laid shoulders, good tailset & carriage, in well textured coat. Good mover; 3 Taylor’s Zephon King Of The Rock for Tispitza.

LD (8,1) 1 Saich’s Hocombewood Hot Toddy for Lindcoly, well balanced rich brown/s, a neat busy dog, in splendid coat & condition. Lovely head & expression with small neat, well set ears. Good shoulder & well made all through, scoring on tailset. Happy & enthusiastic on the move Just to prove that he is not only handsome but useful, see he is sire of the PG winner; 2 Mulholland’s Zephon The Last Samurai, black with well shaped head & most appealing expression, again with small neat ears, excellent make, shape, size & type. An energetic showman, who moved with alacrity; 3 Hearson’s Nixtev Uraxys at Jumasue.

OD (8) 1 Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Shout About It, black, simply a joy to handle with all the parts fitting firmly & accurately into the whole. So typy & beautifully balanced, being another of those who looks taller than he actually is & goes under the measure with no trouble at all. Holds himself with the greatest of pride & moves to match the excellence of his make & shape. CC, which I gather to be his 8th, & BOB; 2 Cook & Clayton’s Ch Studholme Moon Orbit, charming rich brown/w parti with the most irresistible expression, so typy & beautifully made all through. A great showman & excellent mover, well deserving of his recently confirmed title. RCC; 3 Thomas’ Dutch Ch Daraydala Lorenzo of Kelmorespitz.

PB (4,2) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s One And Only, quite & utterly gorgeous! This well balanced bitch is already such a showgirl, she stood & moved as to the Manor Born, rightly full of herself & her own importance. So well made all through, feminine & typy with the most beautiful head, eye & expression with the darkest of pigment, in the best of coat & condition. Super sound, positive & brisk on the move with good length of stride. Presented to well nigh perfection, encouraging her to do of her best, & she did. CC, her first of hopefully many & BP; 2 Taylor’s Nixtev Yazmine at Tispitza, cream with dark eyes & pigment contrasting sharply against her pale coat. A willing showgirl with the most appealing expression & neat feet. Can still do with a bit more body.

JB (4,2) 1 O’Leary’s Cadasaro Lets Parti, s/w parti who scored on her layback of shoulder. Well balanced with good tailset & carriage. Very good positive mover with good length of stride in profile; 2 Hewett & Barnes’ Spellcast Now Ya Talkin, brown, a very energetic typy showgirl with the neater ears. Well balanced with small cat feet. She, too, went well.

PGB (7,1) 1 Alfred’s Rossfort Black Girl at Teamor, black with smart white tips to her paws, so very happy with non-stop wagging tail. Just a touch full in eye, scoring on bone, so well balanced & a very good mover; 2 Clewer’s Bullbo Over The Moon, cream with lovely head, eye & expression, not in the best of coat currently & just a little longer in body than the winner. Good tailset & carriage, she went extremely well; 3 Purves’ Bulabs Blonde Lady.

LB (3) 1 Alfred’s Nixtev Vitesse at Teamor, cream with excellent pigment & the sweetest of expressions in her dark eyes, so good to handle as she is so well made all through with good shoulders & quarters, topline & feet. A good mover, being particularly impressive in front; 2 Saich’s Lindcoly Pixie, black of lovely size & type who, for reasons of her own, would insist on crabbing on the move but had moments of brilliance, going so beautifully when, & if, she tried with such a good length of stride in profile. Well balanced; 3 Orr’s Sobriety’s Caviars Whispa.

OB (11,1) A truly wonderful class, chock full of high quality. I was truly spoilt for choice &, ideally, would have preferred many more cards! 1 Clewer’s Spellcast Tell A Tail at Bullbo, very well balanced & so typy, beautifully made all through in excellent coat & condition. Not always making the best of herself when standing but really came into her own on the move & looked quite superb. RCC &, I was delighted to hear, litter sister to the BOB; 2 Hull, Hamer & Cree’s Ch Clarmers Best Buds with Gibbcree, this enchanting b/t/w simply stole my heart! Unexaggerated in any way & one who grows on you as the more I saw, the more I liked. Lovely head, eye & expression with decent shoulder. Very well balanced & such a good mover; 3 Moir’s Ch Jansanleis Mayhew.
